NOMO Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
This is my second time here. The first time was for lunch, and this time it was for breakfast. I had the breakfast burrito, which was delicious, and my friend had the omelette, which she said was very tasty. Our only complaint as far as the food was concerned, was the fact that the coffee was barely warm. Honestly, I think they poured hot coffee into really cold cups. In terms of the service, our waiter was less than attentive, as we were left waiting for items several times, such as creamer, coffee refills, and the check. The ambience here is amazing, especially at Christmas time. Their decorations are beautiful. We definitely will be back.
While the food was good, there was nothing quite remarkable about either of our dishes. It was rather standard brunch fare. The service was considerably lacking; we had to ask and order drinks twice before they arrived at the table (after our food) and then ask again for steak knives to accompany our meal, which included an order of steak and eggs. The server was not particularly knowledgeable of food allergies or intolerances, and he was not otherwise attentive. The atmosphere, however, was lovely, fun and festive!
We ordered a cocktail with a choice of liquors and our server didn't ask which one we wanted. I ordered steak and eggs and the server didn't ask how I wanted my steak and I had to ask him for a medium rare steak as he was walking away from our table. When the food arrived, my girlfriend's lemon ricotta pancakes were quite nice, but the steak was stringy, and scramled eggs had been left out and seemed dried and crusty on outside, and our server didn't provide a steak knife. He also forgot the mac and cheese side we ordered and had to be reminded.
While the food was good, the inattentive service ruined this restaurant for us. It has all the right ingredients for a memorable dining experience - gorgeous setting, tight but tempting menu, and ultimately a strong kitchen - but unfortunately was memorable for all the wrong reasons.
After telling our server that we were in a rush for lunch, she made us wait 25-30 minutes each time to both place our orders AND pay. When we asked other servers to bring our bill and to remind our own server to come collect our payment, they said we'd just have to wait for our own server. This was especially frustrating when we saw her lounging around the bar chatting up a storm with her colleagues. When we asked her for the Wifi login as we sat down, she said she would bring it to us and instead just abandoned our table without checking in on us during our meal. Of course it's fine for a restaurant not to have a public Wifi login - in which case she should have just graciously said so instead of running away from us and avoiding us during our entire lunch. By Manhattan standards, this restaurant should not survive much longer with service like this and I would not recommend it to anyone with less than two hours to enjoy a glacially slow lunch.
Beautiful spot, previous experience was great, but this time we waited for an hour after ordering only to be told they ran out of one of our order, and another 30 min to get our actual food. Also asked for ketchup 4 times from 3 different servers only to never get any.
My friends and I had an amazing time! We originally made the reservation for two people but forgot to make it for three people. The hostess immediately managed to accommodate all three of us, even though we were fifteen minutes early. We were seated immediately. Our waiter was insanely funny (shoutout to Kevin) and gave us good insight on what to get. The ambiance was alive but still relaxing. Food was amazing. An overall amazing time!
I was highly disappointed with the brunch at NOMO Kitchen. I went there to celebrate my 29th birthday and ensured to include the note on my reservation, and even when I called to say I was running late, the hostess confirmed that the seating was to celebrate a birthday.
I called ahead to also include an additional seat for my 7months old niece. Although I was assured that this was taken care of, we still had to wait 15mins before we could be seated to accommodate my niece in her car seat.
After showing up, both my sister and I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes. They were absolutely good to look at (one thing to note, the food came out really fast, which isn’t something anyone would complain about but it was wayyyyy too quick, which left you feeling that the food was not well prepared or fresh) the taste however, was not there. It tasted very powdery and not well cooked.
Their drink options for cocktails are so overpriced and hardly any good options for myself that is not a fan of dark liquor.
After our meals were completed (my mom had the cheese burger which she described as lackluster and my brother-in-law had the turkey burger which he enjoyed) I stepped away to use the restroom, which gave my sister ample time to remind our waiter that it was my birthday. So my sister proceeded to order a chocolate like pudding desert. I came back to a simple jar with no fanfare to acknowledge my birthday. Our waiter quickly ran over and apologized and said he would remove the desert from our bill, since the runner forgot he the waiter mentioned it was my birthday.
Overall this place is only good for photos and nothing else. I would not go back for brunch. Maybe at a later date I would try their dinner but for now, I was not pleased one bit. I would rate 2.5/5 stars.
Great ambiance and decor. Food was good but a tad bit pricey. This would have been ok if the service was better but the service was definitely sub-par which is unfortunate to admit. Luckily I was amongst good friends so all around it was a good afternoon. Probably would not come back even though I liked the atmosphere.
We live in the neighborhood and consider NOMO Kitchen to be high on our go-to list for casual meals in a stylish and comfortable atmosphere. The service is usually great (as it was on this recent visit) and the food provides quality, creativity and tastiness!
The amazing entrance and beautiful setting of the restaurant were very promising. The scene, ambiance and overall vibe get maximum stars. We had dinner and the food tasted okay but the pizza I ordered as a starter was burnt (black at the bottom and no way to cut it) and the pasta I had, stood under the heater too long so the top part was very dry and almost hard. We were helped by two great waiters, only the food was served by other staff members and they practically threw our food at the table without even looking at us or. I loved the ambiance, fix the food part and I'll be back :)
No volvería a comer.
It is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the town. If you passed by, you won't missed the exotic garden scene it creates. Almost everyone walks into the restaurant takes photos. I won't be surprised if it is overly rated on instagram.
The service is not bad but slow. Sometimes you feel that you are ignored.
The food is great. The fried chicken and the pancakes are definitely tasty.
