Nom Wah Philadelphia
This restaurant was a lot of fun! You get to pencil in your menu choices which I loved. We got there before the afternoon lunch rush so there were plenty of empty tables but by the time we were leaving people were waiting to be seated so make sure you make a reservation if you don’t want to wait. The waitstaff was very friendly and prices we on point. Food was delish.
Excellent food. Great service. Fun. Highly highly recommended
I brought my Mom and brother to Nom Wah for their birthdays and they were thrilled!! Dim Sum is always excellent, and my brother’s General Tso’s entree was fried perfectly.
Service was quick and kind. We had a great time!
Awesome Dim Sum, great price and service. So happy that there is a Nom Wah in Philly since we discovered the one in NYC.
Good food, a little slow service at lunch to begin with.
Wow! My son lives in the city and found this gem. Food was delicious!!
Everything was perfect! Great taste and great price!
Food was really good, servers were nice. A bit on the expensive side. But expected. As it is in the heart of the city . Less than 10 minutes walk from city hall. Wontons were good, and so was the shiu long dumplings!
Service was top notch! Food was delicious! Next time I come to Philly I will visit again. They had gluten free options and gluten free soy sauce. I had no issues.
Great inexpensive meal with friendly staff and fast service. It is a bit noisy but small and friendly. Dining solo I felt very comfortable. The dim sum is delicious. It is made to order rather than precooked and displayed on a cart. The shrimp dumplings are my favorite.
It’s been the best bday ever. I love this place.
Modern retro design. CLEANEST toilets in Chinatown. Dim Sum is ordered rather than picked up from carts which ensures fresh, hot food. Well made Dim Sum along with various noodle dishes. Only thing missing was Dan Tot/Egg Custard tarts!
We loved it! Great food, service and ambiance. The portions and prices were just right and the food was delicious :)
Nothing special. Average but also very inexpensive
Love this small place, the first dim sum restaurant in Phila Chinatown. Great food prepared well and quickly. Cordial service. Highly recommend.
We took our friend from out of town here. You were awesome as always.
A great little spot off the beaten path in Chinatown with fabulous dim sum & larger plates. The pork buns and turnip cakes are two of our favorites. The lychee martinis are great too!
This place was soooooo good! Favorite thing we ordered was the pork buns which were HUGE! I didn’t think we’d be able to finish them both but they were just so delicious we had no problem. Also loved the shrimp shumai. Soup dumplings were pretty standard. Will definitely be going back.
Great food and service, numerous vegetarian options, and can accommodate a large group (over 10 people). Nom Wah is no frills on the outside, but exceeded all my expectations. Will be back!
Went with my work team for lunch. We arrive around 11:30 AM, and we were seated immediately. More people arrived, but it was never too busy that it got crowded or that people were upset waiting for anything. The food was excellent as usual.
This is the best dim sum in Philadelphia, by far. Fresh, delicious and a great value. We've been regulars since it opened and it is still the best.
Food was great and I enjoyed the experience. We will be back, often.
Food was good, service ok. I think more servers would make it better
This was my first visit to Nom Wah. We tried five items from the dim sum menu. Our favorite was the open faced shrimp Shu Mai. They were delicious. Our least favorite were the rice noodles with scallion and cilantro, although they were good and the portion was large. We also tried the turnip cakes, steamed pork bun( largest I’ve ever had) and stuffed eggplant. We enjoyed them all. It was fun to watch other diners’ orders go by. We would have liked to have been able to try them all.
Great dim sum, and fabulously attentive service (biggest % tip I've ever given, I think! - I even wrote a thank-you note on the credit card receipt!). Atmosphere is utterly meh, so this might not be a first-date locale. But with the good food (and it's a BYO !!), we'll be going back!
The spicy wontons might be my new go to dish they’re amazing. The shrimp shu mai are my favorite dumplings in the city. Salt and pepper shrimp also amazing. I have been here numerous times and never have anything less than an amazing experience.
The reason we went there was because we saw a cooking show on Create TV that interviewed the owner from the NOM WAH in New York City.... and the food they showed in the TV show looked spectacular. But the food available at the Philadelphia restaurant did not appear to be the same quality
Spring rolls came late because they delivered them to another table and that table ate them. Otherwise good meal.
Dim sum without the carts. Food was generally very good; some dishes better than others. Shumai not as delicate as it could be. Bok choi and eggplant dishes were fabulous.
This is the best dim sum place
In Philadelphia. No question!! Delicious and fresh, the food is consistent and well prepared. Not fancy, this is your spot for every day dining when you just have to have some dumplings!! Go. You will love it.
we were disappointed. Has lots of dim sum to choose from but, from our standpoint, the quality was not there. Flavors muted, pastry thick and doughy. Being served was nice and food hot but we think there are better dim sum restaurants to go to.
Food was good not great! I’ve had better dim sum! Overall the food was greasy and on the heavy side. Not bad but nothing out of the ordinary!
Came here for my 25th birthday while visiting in Philadelphia for the weekend with friends who have never experienced dim sum. Great time had by all, loved the staff and quality of food/service. Will return again!
Very yummy food. I loved ordering several small dishes and being able to taste everything. The Chinese broccoli was so fresh and delicious. We also really enjoyed the scallion pancakes. I'd like to go back again to try more of the dishes that I didn't order.
Excellent food and service. Wine choice by the glass just okay and mine tasted like it hadneen open for a while.
Took the kids for their 1st dim sum. Was a great experience no pressure food was reasonable and good
I loved this place! Being a vegetarian, they had so many options than any other Dim Sum place I've been too. Also, they were so polite. My friend was an hour late due to a last minute work commitment and they were not pushy or mean at all. They patiently waited and were not rude. Would definitely go again and would definitely recommend it.
Little atmosphere, appeared somewhat less than clean; table sticky. But, food great! I wouldn’t visit the kitchen or bathroom! Needs some cleaning and more light! But the food was excellent and place very casual! Has full bar too!
