This was my sister and I first ever get away and we were excited to try all the wonderful places to eat. I’ve been to NOLA before and was excited to bring my sister as I have been here to eat before and was raving about it. Well it was not at all as I remember. The wait for my soda alone was a long wait. Our mushroom pizza was great which came out quick but the rest of our food took over a half hour to come and and was only warm not hot enough. The servers were great but the kitchen wait was to long for a restaurant that was not busy for the time of night that we were there for.

Amazing food and service. Most unique and unexpected flavor offerings I've ever enjoyed. So glad we included the one Emeril's we had not visited on our previous trip to NOLA in our short stay. WOW definitely a must for foodies.

My husband and I had a very great experience at NOLA. We arrived a little after 7 for an 8 o’clock reservation. We were warmly greeted and proceeded to the bar where we ordered a bottle of wine. The wine list is quite expensive but has a good selection. We knew this would be a vibrant, loud and busy dining experience. This is not a quiet romantic spot! The hustle of servers is amazing. We were seated at 7:30 on the second floor. Matt and Travis were wonderful. They are a super team. Our water glasses were never empty. We started with the barbecue shrimp. I followed with the fried boneless chicken and my husband had the pork shoulder. Everything was served in good time. The food was hot and delicious. We had no room for dessert. We will definitely return upon our next time to New Orleans .

NOLA did not disappoint. The food was fantastic, the wait staff was on their game and it was a great evening overall. I was really surprised at how reasonable the food dishes were, though the wine could certainly change the ballpark. We would definitely go back next time we're in town.

Best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had in my life! They were perfectly creamy, and uniquely seasoned. I only wished the dish was a little bit bigger! The cornbread and greens were out of this world with a special hint of pickled peppers. I’m in love, and will be back next time I’m in NO’s.

This was my second time, and I like the general atmosphere and I think the food is quite good, but had some bad luck on this visit. We were upstairs and the service was poor. The server had a bad attitude and it took forever to get drinks and my cosmo tasted like lemonade. She grudgingly took it off my tab in the end. The foot long egg roll was tasty and my fish entrée, drum, was excellent. We also had a table next to us where the people were really over the top disruptive and loud. The restaurant would not ask them to quiet down in spite of our protests and glares. It was bad, but I prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt and may give them another chance because I think the food is good. It was a bit limited for my vegetarian friend.

I have been a loyal customer of NOLA's. I remembered mostly the smoked duck dish and the NOLA martini that I had at the quaint bar before we went upstairs to have dinner. The memory of that alone drove me to make sure I made reservations well in advance. We talked about so much to our friends and changed our reservation to bring them along. How embarrassed we were when we saw how everything had changed, including the duck. We know there are reasons to make changes but NOLA's was one of those establishments that never disappointed...until yesterday.

The newly renovated bar looked modern but was missing the old world feel that you could only appreciate being in the French Quarter. We were then seated downstairs where it was brightly lit. The vibe was already different and our guests felt it too. When we expressed our wish to move upstairs, the hostess was very firm in stating they had assigned this table at the time of booking and when we asked to mve upstairs were firmly told they were booked solid. When we stated we would be better off leaving, we were moved upstairs after we had placed our order for appetizers. We started with the wings, boudin toast, and andouille sausage which were all fine. For entrees, we ordered the duck, labeled as a classic, which was nothing compared to the original recipe. The waiter tried to justify it but this was the one reason we came back. In addition, we felt a restaurant of this caliber should not be offering a foot long egg roll which should have been a red flag. We sat eating our dinners wishing the table cloths were back with the dim lighting for ambience. Sadly, we also will cease recommending this restaurant and not return.

Had the pork chop and my husband had the hanger steak. Both were prepared perfectly and creatively. We enjoyed all of the menu items and the service was excellent. Would definitely return next time we are in town.

The revamp of the restaurant is horrible if you liked the New Orleans feel it used to have. Looks like this restaurant is getting ready to franchise. We had a delightful experience. The value of quality food for the price is, I believe after 4 trips to NOLA, outstanding. The flavors are exquisite, ambiance fantastic, and service out of this world. If you want a great meal in a non-snobby setting, this is the place for you. Highly recommend stopping by early evening to get a seat near the kitchen to watch the chefs work their magic.

This was a disappointing night. After weeks of anticipation, we were seated upstairs in a cramped, industrial table that was without frills or character. While our waiters were charming, they were large and constantly bumped us as they moved between tables for routine service. They also advised us as to our dining restrictions and then apologized as were served, and consumed, dishes that we asked to avoid. While they financially compensated us, the experience was disconcerting and alarming. The food was delicious, especially the miso Cobia bites and the bbq shrimp, but we will not be back. Ever.

Four years ago I had one of the best meals of my life at Nola. However, our meal last night was so incredibly disappointing. The service was terrible as we waited 10 minutes to even be acknowledged and then the table next to us order drinks and appetizers which we received in mistake. The food was small and quantity and unimaginative in flavor. I was quite embarrassed as I had been talking how great this restaurant was for weeks and both my colleague and I agreed that it was ‭one of our lesser dining experiences in New Orleans. We both agreed that we would not go back nor recommend it to anyone. I wonder if Emeril is aware of the food being served here? I was so disappointed, and now realize why the restaurant had so many open tables.

I am a local resident, three of us went to NOLA on a Tuesday night. They have completely redone the space. The all brick walls are now painted white????? why???? The main contrast color is orange. The lighting is atrocious... This feels like a very commercial kind of decor. It does not make you dream. The restaurant was quite busy for a Tuesday but virtually everyone was a visitor to the city and lots of grey hair and big bellies.
The service was okay but there were several misunderstandings. We shared a Mirliton salad which was very weak and not very well described. I love mirliton but it is subtle flavor. First it was spiraled and there was a strong amount of cilantro which I do love but the flavor of milliton was completely overtaken. It could have been anything. The planked fish ($19) was the best thing but it was tiny, the size of a small envelope. The pizza was okay. The cornbread and greens were served lukewarm. Gumbo had a dark roux and was quite good, but it too was just luke warm... Cornbread- good/ greens - no no no. We ordered a semi freddo which was semi freddo in name only. The lighting is so harsh I do not think any of us will be back even for a drink. It seemed like many of the people from somewhere else like the food more than we did. We were hoping for a version of Meril's in the FQ it is that but not nearly as good.

Wonderful food but very noisy.
Have been here before but never seated on lower level. It was right beside the bar with TVs everywhere. Just not what we expected nor wanted ( want a nice quiet dinner)
The food was out of this world and our waiter Raymond was wonderful! Great suggestions and kept up with water and answered all of our questions. Will definitely go back but hopefully get a quieter spot.

I've dined several times at NOLA. The menu is wonderful and inventive, the tastes bright and remarkable. The service is exquisite. I was hoping the remodeling that they just completed would fix the one bugaboo in that place, which that it's noisier than dining at the end of an airport runway. Sadly, it did not, and possibly made things worse. One cannot have a conversation over dinner, particularly if seated near a party of six or eight. Could not even hear our server and had to ask her to keep repeating things. The couple at the table next to us was having the same problem and kept glancing toward the large party of convention goers whose loud yakking raised the dB level even further. Despite some of the greatest cooking and best service anywhere in the US, I doubt we will be going there again anytime soon. The evening was unpleasant and the overall experience stressful. If you insist on giving it a try, bring along your noise-cancelling headphones or earbuds and make sure your dinner partner brings hers, too.
