NOLA is chef/restaurateur Emeril Lagasse’s casual eatery in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter. Open since 1992, the critically-acclaimed restaurant fuses traditional Creole, Acadian and Southern cuisine with global influences. Chef de Cuisine Philip Buccieri works closely with Chef Emeril to create an innovative menu showcasing rustic Louisiana cooking with local ingredients and some ethnic twists. The three-story restaurant features an open-action kitchen, chef’s food bar and a signature wood-fired brick oven. NOLA was renovated in 2017 and is now open daily at 11:30 am serving one menu for lunch and dinner.

Fast visit to NOLA the city, time for 1 dinner. Never got to NOLA on other visits and it was convenient. So why not? Heard it was a touristy place. Turned out to be full of loud, happy locals. Very full, very loud, very happy. We were soon happy too. The stuffed chicken wings did it. And the gumbo. And the tuna in an amazing salad. And everything else we ate. Except for Emeril's fried chicken--over fabulous sweet potatoes, yes, but boneless breasts? Really? The doberge cake lovely. The servers are a treat, efficient, not over friendly but enough for feeling very welcome. And they support each other in a given area-- weird but really nice.

We were two couples visiting New Orleans and giving NOLA a try. We got what we expected from a well known chef's restaurant. Great food, service and setting. Nice selection of entrees. Thanks.

I know this is supposed to be a food review, but when you experience awful service, something needs to be said. Stopped in for lunch while in New Orleans. The food was still excellent, but the service was as bad as I ever had anywhere ever. We had a reservation, there was 3 other tables of patrons and a few at the bar. Walked in, no "hello" "can I help you" or anything like that. The guy just looked up and we had to initiate the conversation They sat us, we waited 5 minutes for the server to come to the table withe menus. She gave us the menus, poured water, didn't take a drink order and then 10 mins later we had to ask someone to get her. Sorry but 15 minutes with no drink in an empty restaurant IS a long time We placed our food order and ordered iced tea. Another server poured us water a few times, we said "thank you" every time and she never once said "you're welcome" or anything. The food was delivered eventually, barbecue shrimp and gumbo are truly excellent, but only 3 shrimp on slice of bread. I never got the iced tea, had to ask for a dessert menu, was charged for the iced tea and then just left in disgust. And I still tipped 15%, not sure why, but Emeril, you need to know your NOLA is in shambles.

Don’t waste your time. Average food. Not emeril’s standard.

Excellent Louisiana modern cuisine at very reasonable prices for the French Quarter. The oyster Brie pot pie with bone marrow was particularly memorable.

Service was poor and slow. We had a mumbling waiter who could not explain the menu and there were long waits between the courses. Our entrees came out nearly luke warm - certainly not when they were plated and ready.
The food was fair to good, but not great and not excellent. The one foot egg roll sounded interesting but it was so tough Panda Express would not have okayed it for their menu. Salads were good, but they should be if you’re in a good New Orleans restaurant. Salmon was a small piece and nearly cold although it had been cooked nicely. Shrimp and grits were very disappointing - 5 smallish shrimp on a bed of grits that you might get at a diner.
This restaurant does not live up to its reputation.
We decided dessert would be equally disappointing and didn’t even bother.

This was my second visit to NOLA. It was even better than the first. We had to wait a while after our reservation time to be seated. However, once seated everything was great.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time.

Food was fabulous!! It took a long time to get anyone to come to our table. It seemed like our server had too many tables. The food was worth the wait. You can’t be in a hurry though.

Although I’ve been to Nawlins quite a few times, I realized I’d never eaten at a restaurant owned by Emeril...NOLA looked good and it lived up to its reputation. Very imaginative seared tuna salad starter, 2 great entrees ...pork chop and a grouper special were both beautifully prepared and presented...and the desert we picked was the best we’ve had in a long time...coconut semifreddo with fresh mango and pineapple sorbet....we’re still talking about it

Amazing food, good service, and simple, but tasteful decor. Dining area was a bit loud, but consistently one of my favorite restaurants in the US.

The service was excellent and we thought the oysters Rockefeller pizza was very good. Our other dishes we rated as four out of five stars. It wasn’t very busy for lunch, but it was Valentines Day and many people may have been saving their dining out for the evening.

Wonderful place, fabulous menu. Great location to all of the French Quarter. Service is very good - attentive but not invasive. Very hot (popular) spot so the enthusiasm of everyone dining can get a bit loud.

Best shrimp and grits on the planet. The crab cake was fantastic, and the gumbo was a delightful appetizer. Great service and fun decor. NOLA is a winner. Nice job, Emeril!

The food was okay, not great. But good. Nothing wrong with it at all, I was just expecting more. None of the desserts were even worth ordering. I think their dessert menu is very much lacking. We went to another restaurant to get dessert. The service was outstanding however and our server was fantastic, even serenading me with a little song.
