Nice location, limited menu. Grilled calamari arrived practically raw, requested that the grilled salmon be served on plain arugula, but arrived loaded with candied walnuts and cranberries (allergic to walnuts). Service was OK, but could have been more attentive. Overall not a great experience.
A pasta dish special with cavatelli had something wrong with the cavatelli. SO I substituted angel hair (which the waitress told me was available) but the dish came out with spaghetti. They did offer to redo the dish but my partner had her food delivered and I didn't want to wait. You would think they would have at least offered a free dessert.
We've previously eaten at Noce 77 about 4 or 5 times and always enjoyed the food. Service was always good. To our surprise, on this particular evening, the food was close to terrible. We ordered mussels, which were undercooked, in a pesto sauce which was mostly oil and had no flavor. My husband's shrimp scampi was just ok but my pasta with crab meat and shrimp in a pesto sauce was not good at all. There were a few small strands of crab meat, the shrimp were ok but again the pesto sauce was mostly oil with no flavor. The tartufo for dessert was good but the decaffeinated coffee was just ok. Although it was a week day evening, with only about 5 tables dining, the service was painstakingly slow. Don't think we will be going back.
Enjoyed a Wonderful Meal Here. We ordered several appetizers to start such as mussels with white wine, fried Calamari, Burratta, all bright and fresh as you’d expect. For the second course we shared wild mushroom raviolis and homemade cavatelli with broccoli rabe and sausage, portions were perfect, and I’ll be forever in love with the raviolis, they were fantastic. For our last course we had steak Scampi (perfectly cooked), shrimp scampi, salmon and sole with crab meat all very good. Service is on point and the food delicious. Highly recommend it. We will be back.
Completely unorganized and poorly managed. Waited 25 minutes for our table, despite a reservation on Valentine's Day. Seemed like the kitchen was backed up, but I'm not sure how bc the food for the prix fixe menu was clearly prepared ahead of time. No one seemed to know what they were doing. Multiple tables around us got incorrect orders and everyone waited a while for food. I understand Valentine's Day is busy, but it seemed as if it was everyone's first day there.. AND despite the 25 minute wait for our table and long wait for our food, they still charged us extra for our $3 coffees, which was not included in the $60pp prix fixe menu. I know it's just coffee, but a small gesture like taking the coffee off of the bill for our inconvenience would have gone a long way. Customer service 101..come on.
Valentine’s Day prix fix want worth the $120 we spent. Food was so-so. Nothing special. Stuffed mushroom appetizer was a cold uncooked white cap covered in vodka sauce. It was room served at temperature. Can’t see this place staying open for too long in Montclair’s competitive market...unless they turn things around.
Took about 45 minutes to take our order, now I wouldn’t of gotten upset because it was pretty busy but there was about 4 other tables that got in before us and they were taken care of right away which was upsetting. The crab cakes were good which is why I gave them 2 stars but the main entree which my girlfriend and I had was undercooked. By this time we’ve been sitting down for an hour and a half waiting for our food and didn’t want to wait any longer.
Food was delicious, Chicken Savoy the best. Service was very nice. We come here often and always a pleasant experience.
Restaurant was packed!!
Only 3 waiters!!
Took forever to get our food. NEED more help.
Food and menu were fine.
Excellent as always.
The service was very leisurely. We had a reservation at 6:30 and did not get out of there until 9:30. We were fine with that since we do not have other plans for the evening. Not sure if it was weather related (a snow storm was forecasted for the evening) but there were only five parties that night. The food was good and the prices are reasonable.
Not too busy due to worries about the weather. Still, service is slow. We didn’t mind since we were catching up with old friends. Some people may have felt it was too long from salads to entrees. Party of six and all happy with their food choices from short ribs to steak to fish and pasta.
Wonderful evening! Great food and atmosphere!
The Eggplant Rollatini was delicate and well balanced. To my taste, the Sea Bass Puttanesca was a bit heavy-handed with the tomato sauce overpowering the fish. The Chocolate Lava cake was perfection!
Service was attentive on a Saturday night.
Really enjoyed the dining experience. Husband and wife team run the operation and take a lot of pride in their food, service and pleasing their clients. The restaurant is small and cozy but could use some updating and improved ambience.
Food was decent, but the ambiance was strange. Felt like a make-shift restaurant. The room was very cold feeling. There was no music. There were 2 servers who were serving, playing host, and busing tables. I would not recommend this place.
Servers were confused. It took 25 minutes from the time the menu was handed to us and the server took the order. I had to call the server to take our order. A few minutes later another server asked us if we were ready to order and that she was our server for the evening. Appetizer took a long time as well, I was worried the first server never placed the order. We already finished the bottle of wine before the entrees arrived. I will not be coming back.
We have eaten here several times & have always had an enjoyable dining experience - the food is
always excellent. The staff is always very attentive, friendly & accommodating in this family
My best friend and I meet here occasionally because it’s convenient for both of us. We love this place! The food it always good, the service is great. They are always friendly and welcoming. There is a nice quiet atmosphere, perfect for catching up with friends but also perfect for a romantic dinner for two. Check it out if you’re in the area!"
We went for xmas eve dinner, party of 6 When we arrived the restaurant was about 40% full. We ordered appetizers to share which took 45 minutes to come out. We had the calamari which was ok but the potion was small the burrata which was one piece over a small salad and a pepperoni bread which was good.
The dining room filled up and that’s when it went from bad to worse. We never saw our server who avoided the table due to the slow kitchen. When we asked about our dinner we were told it’s coming. 45 minutes after our appetizers our dinner arrived being delivered by the chef not our waitress. 5 out of the 6 meals were warm not hot. Food was ok nothing was great. Would not return
Service was a little slow but to be fair it was Xmas eve and the restaurant was filled
After reading through the reviews about the slow service but good food I figured we’d try it anyway. The group I went with likes to take our time for dinner/ not be rushed - but this was beyond “not being rushed.” The service was pretty bad.. we were there for four hours and that was because there were periods of at least 45 minutes where nobody came to check on us. We had to open our own bottles of wine at the end of our dinner because we’d be waiting for a while and ask for our water to be refilled. We had a great time because of the company and our wine. As for our meals, the appetizers were great, we tried the meatballs, spedini, portobello appetizer and calamari all which were good. Entrees were okay. Desserts were delicious! Also BYOB is awesome and prices were very reasonable.
Service was poor. Food was fair.
We had been here before and decided to return with friends. The service was good but very slow. We waited more than 10 minutes before we were brought water and another 5-10 minutes before our server came to open our wine. The food as good as we remembered it. We shared appetizers and everybody loved the meatballs. The calamari was good but the serving size was a little small. It was worth the wait, but It took quite awhile after our appetizers before dinner arrived. I would recommend Noce77, but be sure you have time if you have anything planned after dinner.
Food was good but service was way too slow - we have heard this same complaint from many friends
Always enjoy our nights at Noce77
Many good Italian restaurants in Montclair. The food was up with the top 2 or 3 and the restaurant is small so you feel important. Food came out timely and the wait staff was attentive. I will go back.
What a lovely Thanksgiving dinner! Thanks to Alan and family for making us welcome and feeding us their lovely food.
Food was delicious. Wait staff was very accommodating.
Excellent food wonderful servicee leisurely dining
Love the food here
The food is delicious. Unfortunately the service is not good. I consistently had to ask for more water, for our wine to be refilled, for menus, for the check.. There was never one consistent person caring for us or our table and it was very frustrating.
The food was good, portions were on the small side. The service was awful. Our dinner took a long time to be served. After dinner, no one approached our table to ask for dessert or coffee. Finally, after a half an hour, I got up to find smeone to get us our check. We left promptly after that. If we’d have ordered dessert I’m afraid we’d still be sitting there! Very disappointing. Won’t go back.
Beautiful restaurant with very warm kind ambiance. The staff was perfect. They were attentive but not overly so and very nice. The food was delicious no ingredient was over done and the portion was surprisingly large. Lack of alcohol menu but its a byob restaurant, what are you gonna do? Over Overall great experience would definitely recommend to anyone.
Excellent service and delicious food, quiet Wednesday night just perfect for a romantic dinner, nice background music. Pappardelle Bolognese the best.
Had reservation at 7 pm through open table. Seated immediately. Ordered and ate 2 hours later.
Waited too long to get food
We arrived at 6, and didn't receive our check until almost 9. The wait staff never even asked if we wanted dessert. My meal was overcooked, and they brought another, but it was worse than the first. (Salmon). The staff was nice but non attentive. We had to walk over and ask someone. They took the price of my meal off the bill, and discounted it more, but after three hours, and being hungry it was one of the worst experiences I had. I would not recommend it to anyone.
It was really nice & the service was great!!!
