It was such a great surprise. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty so we were skeptical. However, since it was a Monday night and it was on the early side, we decided to give it a chance. Great that we did. All our food was amazing. We had branzino, seafood w/pasta and penne a la vodka. And an asparagus appetizer that was out of this world! The service was so nice. Perfect. Another table filled in before we began our meal. People need to know about this little gem!
it took 45 minutes to get our food with little apology or any type of compensation
This restaurant had a comfortable atmosphere, the service was on point and the food was delicious for a reasonable price. Will be back for sure.
Walking in we felt welcome and cozy. We were seated right away. The server was attentive and helpful. They were not rushing us to leave. The food was delicious. We hope to go again soon!
Party of five. Had pasta, salad, solmon, chicken. All good. Would like to go back.
Wonderful food and service. Nice ambiance. Pastas and Gnocchi are home made; I get the gnocchi every time - until I had it here, I never liked them. These are little pillows of perfection!
They forgot my appetizers.
I ordered medium steak it came medium rare
The terimizu was watery
The waiter was not attentive
I may have been gone for some time - but there was definitely a change to the menu.
It was not bad, but it was definitely new. I was not expecting it.
Wish I could have had an Eggs Benedict.
BUT the service was incredible.
Server was so kind - place was empty. She kept our drinks filled, and the food was great.
I picked this restaurant for my anniversary and I picked the perfect place. It was super cozy, service was very attentive and the food was delicious. I have already recommended it to friends and I will definitely see myself returning very soon!
We went there for a work lunch on a weekday and the restaurant seems to be very quiet during this time. There's no other restaurants like it in the area and we were all pleasantly surprised by how good every dish was, especially when considering the price! It was an excellent meal and I'll happily return when I'm back in the area.
I was very excited about this dinner since it was their anniversary. I brought along two friends who had also eaten there before. I expected more of a celebration given the multiple emails that they sent about it. The food was good as usual but the waiter was not good. He was an older gentleman with a bow tie who I believe was named Angel. He seemed overwhelmed, scattered and unattentive during the entire that we were there. We had to try to get his attention multiple times to request the check and request that the leftovers be placed in containers. We finally got his attention but again had to wait FOREVER to get the check. When we inquired again, he seemed annoyed and said that he had to wait for the packed food to come out (???????????????). When we finally got the check, we had to wait again to give him the two credit cards. The onsite manager finally took the cards but gave them to him. The waiter again took forever to process the check. My friend walked over to inquire and again he seemed annoyed. He brushed him off and said that there was something wrong with the wifi. This man only received the 20% tip because we believe in supporting local businesses. STILL, the story did not end. Angel charged my friend's card with the total check amount for another table. Never acknowledged the error. He also NOT void the amount charged. My friend spent all weekend on the phone with her bank and the restaurant AND still no resolution. I will not recommend anyone to this restaurant until service improves.
We visited during Harlem Restaurant Week. The portions were generous and everything was cooked to perfection! Our server was very accommodating. We will be back!
Neighborhood flair but fallen short unfortunately. Overly seasoned pasta dish - way too salty which ruined the dish. The marsala dish was likewise overly seasoned with salt. The tiramisu was a good balance after a very salty dinner! Service was fair, wine list was adequate and fairly priced.
Nocciola is the most amazing Italian restaurant in East Harlem! Whether you are entertaining clients, family members, or friends; or simply stopping by for a cocktail at the bar, the staff, food and ambiance are the perfect addition to your day. Recommend the Italian Mojito, Crabmeat Stuffed Shrimp and Homemade Pasta.
This restaurant is on a block (E. 116th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues) that, within the last couple of years, has several good restaurants. And it does not measure up to what it could be.
First, it's woefuly understaffed (one waiter and what appeared to be no bartender last night (8/7/19). For it to take nearly 30 minutes for a dish of olives to be served is ridiculous.
Second, the communication between the kitchen and service needs improvement (we ordered the beet salad and learned 20 minutes later there were no beets).
Third, basic cooking and recipe knowledge are lacking (for brussel sprouts to be edible and texturally enjoyable, the core must be cut off, unless they are boiled within an inch of their lives, an Arnold Palmer is half iced tea and half lemonade, not iced black tea with lemon juice).
The focaccia and pesto (served gratis) are delicious, as is the polenta, though $9 for what amounts to five bites is, even for Manhattan, ridiculous. My friend enjoyed her garganelli with mushrooms and my papardelle bolognese, which needed salt, was also good, though the noodles were nearly as wide as lasagna noodles, which is not my recollection of papardelle width. That made eating it awkward and it quickly became cold because, as much as I'm a girl who likes her food, there is no way to politely and easily eat such wide noodles with a fork.
Opportunities abound here. Here's to the restaurant's tenth anniversary, coming up soon I think, usher in a reset.
This was my second visit to this establishment. I was not disappointed either time. The service is excellent. The food was exactly what was ordered and cooked perfectly. Prices are very reasonable for a restaurant in Manhattan. My wife, daughter and I dined for just over $100.00, and that included a bottle of wine for $38.00. This restaurant is on my list of “must visit” whenever I am in the area. Please consider this dining option, you will not be disappointed. The staff is very friendly and will make every effort to ensure you have a pleasant experience. Our waiter was a professional dancer working to make it the “Big Apple”. Believe me when I say this is a great place for dinner and a great experience overall. Please don’t t forget to tip at least 20%, these people work hard to satisfy you and they are good at what they do.
Small Italian restaurant. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good food.
Great service and yummy food.
This is my favorite Italian restaurant in NYC, which I hit on every visit to the Big Apple. The gnocchis with rib sauce are the best I have had anywhere. Nocciola is absolutely worthy of high praise from foodies!
Great service and food. It’s an easy walk from the 117th street station. I enjoyed the chicken saltambuca and calamari. There were plenty of choices priced reasonably.
Food excellent. Service sublime. A little pricey but worth it. Piped in Music excellent. Otger Patrons friendly.
The food was terrific. Service excellent. Atmosphere quiet and relaxing. Very enjoyable very welcoming.
Delicious Italian food, a gem in the neighborhood!
I live in Harlem and wanted a new place to try for brunch. My friend and I ordered the french toast (loved it was NOT made with challah bread) and the short rib hash...both were very good. They even have bottomless at a great price...I'll go back for brunch and will try dinner real soon.
Celebrated our wedding anniversarywith a nice meal. I love this place and recommend it for a nice intimate meal or family gathering!
Delightful spot with very attentive staff. We tried three of four dishes and they were all great - I would say you probably can't go wrong ordering pasta here.
Unfortunately, the dining room is dwarfed by a massive, and very distracting, TV screen - take that away and it really would be great.
Note that the bar serves only wine and beer - but a good selection, reasonably priced.
Great service, good food, hidden gem. We found by accident but we will for sure be back.
Food and service were amazing. Portions are somewhat small compared to many Italian Restaurants, but wife and I had an appetizer, two meals, and dessert without the need of a forklift to get us home. I’ll say this again: the food was delicious! The wine was also good and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.
Great service and the food is delicious. Price is awesome. Def going back.
The food was great. The service was great. They were courteous and kind. We did not like the fact that two very drunk men were let in to use the facilities. However, they were escorted out right after, but I did not feel safe at that moment. Aside from that everything was perfect.
Wonderful meals at this hidden gem. Decor complements the experience of very nicely prepared dishes.
Staff attentive and offered wine pairing with our food selections. Then there is the food, after all that is what this is about. So very pleased with the calamari and its presentation. The pasta was al dente without even asking, which is not always the case at other restaurants. Looking forward to return visits. The next time you are in Spanish Harlem and thinking about Italian food, this is the place to go.
Chose this place for our monthly family dinner which happened to be the last one of the year! Great little spot in East Harlem. Will definitely return and I recommend it.
Very reasonably priced place with nice Italian food. Lamb ravioli were particularly good.
Nothing really special about the food. Price way too high for the value received
Great food! The service was just as good. Great ambiance.
Excellent Italian food and good service at reasonable prices. I went once and I'm ready to become a regular.
This is a wonderful find in East Harlem on 116th Street. Excellent tasting food, fresh tasting ingredients, and wonderful thoughtful and kind service made the evening.
Bucatini was extraordinary! So was the squash ravioli and all enjoyed everything!
And a great place and environment for drinking iour wine and conversation.
I discovered Tasting Social Presents Mountain Bird Restaurant in Harlem and now there is usually a 3 week wait for weekend reservations there.
I believe if they continue, the same destiny and fate will follow at Nocciola!!!
Go while you can before it becomes too popular
