We went on a date night for two. The food and drinks were *mostly* really good. A few of the dishes really fell flat in comparison to the others. It was a great date experience, very intimate.
For the price, however, I feel like we have had better quality meals and drinks as a whole and we didn't order that much food. For a couple of drinks each and dinner it was about $230. We were hungry shortly after we left.
Took my wife here for her birthday with a few friends and had an absolutely amazing experience. Not sure why it took us so long to get here, but will definitely be back. Great food, cocktails, and service. Top notch.
The best meal we’ve had in Phoenix
Dinner was very inventive and delicious. Service was attentive and the ambiance conducive to a relaxing meal. A perfect evening!
Fantastic! Every Element was Flawless! Chef Chris was attentive as was our learned Server David! These 2 Chefs were IMPRESSED! We can’t say enough good things about the Food!!!🤩🤩🤩 We will be back👍🏻
I very much enjoyed my meal here. The food was outstanding and creative Japanese cuisine. I had the tasting menu and enjoyed all of it, but I especially recommend the sashimi and the black cod. The waitstaff was very helpful, especially with drink recommendations. Highly recommended!
Waitress was unhelpful to bordering on rude. When asked about menu based upon dietary restrictions, her response - repeated several times - was, “ we allow no changes no substitutions...”. Little interest in accommodating a medical condition/offering alternatives. We got there in the end after persisting, but that really shouldn’t be necessary. Pouring red wine shouldn’t involve resting the bottle on the edge of the glass... Very loud table next to us (it’s a small room), was incredibly loud and management made no effort to deal with it. Sushi quality, presentation, flavor were outstanding.
Seated on time for reservation, little cramped and was warm inside, food and service was excellent, wish a little more in terms of quantity for price, but quality was excellent.
Excellent high end Japanese food. The miso cod and pork belly were amazing. The service was fantastic and the wine selection was paired well with the food
One of the best Japanese cuisine I ever had. I strongly recommend the discovery menu!
Great food, great environment.
A bit pricy for the amount you get portion wise. But made up for in the high quality of the products used to make dishes mad with significant thought and skill. The cuisine is a Japanese take on pan-Asian flavors. Also strongly recommend the wine pairings. Some well thought out pairings with very interesting, unique and fantastic wine.
The cold dishes were absolutely outstanding! That being said, the warm dishes were just ok. I had the black cod and it was really sweet, it almost tasted like a candied cod and to be honest I wasn't a huge fan. My fiance ordered the duck salad and he said the duck was overcooked and the grilled romaine was the best thing on the plate. The grapefruit hamachi was fantastic as was the yellowtail ceviche! Also the octopus fritters were great. If we were to come back we would order those plates!
I had heard good things about Nobuo, which may have contributed to my disappointment. We ordered 6 small plates. Four of these dishes were very good. The ahi sashimi was unimpressive...just tuna served with wasabi and soy sauce. The short ribs were flavorful, but the meat itself was very chewy. Our waitress made me feel as if she was doing me a favor by bringing our dishes and although she knew we were pressed for time because we had concert tickets, the dishes were served one at a time with a lot of time in between each course. The bill was $138.00 for 2 people without beverages and we needed to stop for a burger after the concert
Wonderful dining experience! The chef and owner knew how to challenge your palate with the different flavors that every dish was made. Food was prepared and brought to the table with such artistry without losing the flavor. Definitely a place to go back for all occasions.
You receive a warm welcome upon arrival. The staff go out of their way to explain the menu and to assist in selecting dishes. The fish sashimi was outstanding and that was our favourite dish that night. The Grapefruit & Hamachi was wonderful combination of flavours which was surprisingly good. We also ordered some of the daily specials. All were very tasty except the beef was a bit tough which surprised us. The waiter suggest a wonderful bottle of wine to go with the food. Service was attentive. The restaurant is quite small and intimate. The downside to this is that half of the restaurant was a single business group who were excessively loud. This definitely detracted from our meal enjoyment. I would strongly advise going on any night they have groups eating in the restaurant.
The tasting menu had unique ingredient combinations that were terrific and with the wine pairings were a real treat. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Great place to try new flavors.
sad to say it was kind of underwhelming. wouldn’t recommend
Fantastic food. Fantastic service. Unfortunately they stuck us at a table in the entry next to the hostess podium so everyone coming in loitered by our table. Make sure you specify seating in your reservation.
Nobuo was recommended by friends but was a big disappointment. Indifferent wait staff, food that was not reminiscent of anything we had in Japan nor interesting in its own right, and prices that were ridiculous given the tiny servings. We would not recommend it to anybody.
Our entire dining experience was so exceptional we brought another party back the following night!
The meal was ridiculous. Limited menu. I left the restaurant starving after spending $100.
Every time I come here the food is absolutely amazing! The ambience in this old house makes the whole experience just perfect.
Nobuo Fukuda is the most creative chef in Arizona and a wonderful person. The cuisine includes both cooked poultry, meats and fish, as well as, fresh sashimi. Every dish is a culinary delight. The desserts should not be overlooked because they are fantastic and worth visiting the restaurant, if only for these finishing delights. If you are not a fan of sashimi, don’t let that scare you because the cooked dishes are out of this world, too.
Some of the best food you will have in the Valley at 2/3 the price compared to Scottsdale
My go to place when I’m in town for meeting, excellent food quality and service. Chef Nobou offers fix menu and a la cart as well with seasonal farm fresh. You can also request for amakase in advance. Highly recommended and I would be back again.
Perfect food. Had $80 tasting menu and added special octopus fritters. Very awesome!
Nobuo is an extra special treat. The food is amazing and I highly recommend the tasting menu. This little gem deserves more attention but I am selfishly happy it flies under the radar
This was our second dinner at Nobuo and was even better than the first. This is likely my favorite restaurant in the country.
Great service. Food was really good, very fresh.
Creative food with incredible execution and delivery. I am unable to emphasize enough the quality and creativity of each dish. I’ve visited twice in the last four weeks and I am looking forward to the next visit, hopefully soon.
Some dishes are on par with Eric Rupert at Le Bernardin.
Thank God Nobuo is not in DC NY or even Scottsdale as getting a table would be impossible.
Always a lovely time at Nobuo at Teeter House. Food is top-notch. Staff is attentive and knowledgable without being pretentious.
excellent food and service that try’s - food came out quick and was well prepared and unique - the only challenge I had was the speed in which alcohol was provided - we waited 30 minutes for our first drink to arrive — service was superb other than that - loved our server -
Amazing. Worth every penny! Go enjoy a night out at Nobuo
Never disappointed. Menu is always creative, food is delicious.
Food and ambiance was great. However we did not recieve our 3rd entree after an hour and a half while mentioning it to the server that we had an event to attend. It never did arrive in time nor did they get it to us before we had to go after asking to box it up. Still had to pay for it though!
Food was very disappointing and pricey I would not recommend
A wonderful dining experience! We enjoyed the Tapas and each was unique, delicious, and the presentation was exceptional. Our waiter was engaged, enthusiastic, and fun!! He took time to explain each dish and gladly answered any questions we had regarding dishes and history of Nobuo. I highly recommend Nobuo for a fun and unique dining experience; it was a perfect spot to take my out of town guests!
