   I had the omakase (tasting menu), that they accommodated around my gluten intolerance, absolutely worth the money! My husband who is NOT a sushi eater, had a feast on king crab and shrimp. We also had delicious sake. I would go back tomorrow if I could!

   This is not nobu quality I have experienced in other locations. Constant interruptions by servers got really annoying. Feeling rushed. Food just average and that was biggest surprise. Happy to pay premium but deliver top quality please. Feels like nobu is rushing a growth model but cannot keep up with the quality. At least not in SD.

   We ate at the bar lounge area and our server was the bartender. He was on point with drinks and food suggestions! He was on top of making sure we have water, cocktails and even changing plates. I missed to get his name but he was awesome!!! And, he makes a mean old fashioned. I have to say it was an expensive night but it was worth it. I’ll definitely come back!

   The edamame charcoal grilled with Peruvian corn was delicious, except for being completely over salted. Our wait staff were mostly attentive until the restaurant became busier, and then the service fell off until it was time to upsell dessert. We stated we weren’t interested in the dessert menu, but one nonetheless appeared at the table. Then another wait staff asked again if we wanted dessert. Why can the wait staff not communicate with one another at such an upscale establishment is beyond my comprehension. When I had returned to our table just moments after we left the restaurant, I greeted the wait staff who was busing the table to let him know I had left behind my cell. I didn’t even get an acknowledgement. I guess they were on to the next party already, and customer service did not apply to me anymore even though I had just spent hundreds of dollars on a Nobu dinner experience a split second before. I won’t be returning to this San Diego Nobu suffice it to say.

    Food was not hot. They brought my husbands chicken which was supposed to take longer than my scallops. No utensils and 15 mins later my food came out and he still had to ask for utensils. Also the fact that they told me they only had garden seating and there were at least 10 tables open and somehow they magically sat us inside. And they called to confirm my reservation even though I replied to the text. They said they wanted to remind me we can only have the table for 1.5 hours. “That should be enough” when I asked why we were on a time limit. Food tasted good but Luke warm.

    My husband gets to eat at different Nobu’s frequently because of his work travel but this was only my second time eating at a Nobu. I’m a fairly picky eater so the menu is a lot for me to go through. So we just ask the waitress to pick a variety of dishes to bring out, and I hope I’m going to like them… Every single dish I’ve tried has been amazing!! From cold to hot dishes, sushi to wagyu, it doesn’t disappoint! I’d recommend Nobu to anyone asking. Not only is the food exceptional but the service is just as good! I’ll definitely be back to any Nobu I’m around. I’m actually having some takeout from there tonight to try and get my fill before I travel back home. 🥰

    Waited half an hour for a starter edamame that the waiter forgot to put in and blamed the kitchen for it, the sushi rice is too cold and too large, very noisy atmosphere. Everything had too much spice and was either too salty or too spicy, was a let down compare to the los angeles and las vegas location.

    Came here for a friends birthday. The service was great although the drinks took a while (about 20 minutes) every time. It was a Saturday night so we understood. The food was amazing I loved the tuna tataki. Cocktails were delicious I had the cucumber martini and the guava martini. Overall an amazing experience and worth the price.

    Food was excellent. Not a fan of how they organize wait staff, we had too many different people buzzing around us. Seems it turns into a bar hang out at some point. Got way too loud towards the end of our dinner service I can think of better places in San Diego (Matsu) to drop that kind of money on a meal.

    We went for our wedding anniversary and we're terrible decision makers so we ordered the omakase tasting menu with paired wines. It was so delicious but SO much food. We could barely finish and had to be wheelbarrowed out of there...hahah. The food quality is always high. it was delicious. Highly recommend.

    Food was incredible. Service was impeccable. Pieces of sushi were quite small in comparison to top level restaurants—and even other Nobu’s I’ve dined at. Lychee martinis were delicious but very little liquor.

    The sushi was very good. Our only complaint is that our reservation was at 9:00 pm and upon being seated they informed us the kitchen closes in 15 minutes! We felt rushed in ordering, we’re the last ones inside while they cleaned up around us. Felt they shouldn’t take 9:00 reservations or at least disclose there kitchen hours.

    Way overpriced for what you get. Lethargic service couldn’t even accommodate our opera time within over an hour and a half. It was even hard to pay the bill quickly. Wouldn’t rush back, with so many options in SD.

    Ordered a variety of items, portions worked well for the three of us. Dishes were tasty and did not disappoint. We had a variety of sushi hand rolls, squid pasta, tempura, New York steak...bento box dessert was a perfect ending to a delectable dinner. The wine was smooth and the stout beer hearty!!
