I loved the intimacy of Nobu and Nobu Next Door when it was in Tribeca. When Nobu Downtown called to confirm my reservation they told me I had a limited time and that they may take my table away, which I thought was extremely rude. Our waiter was rude and hovering over the table waiting for us to finish and leave, and when we said we were done with the food that was on our table, he brought us the check and didn’t ask if we wanted dessert or any more drinks. Used to be my favorite place to dine when in NYC, and unfortunately I probably won’t go again.
We were recommended Nobu by multiple people! We were so excited to try it! The food was pretty good but service was not good for a high end restaurant. We loved the yellowtail and the crab tempura, sooo amazing! The beef entree was just okay, undercooked the first time then over cooked the next. All in all you could spend a good $300-400 here but I’m not sure if it’s worth it.
Great service from the minute we walked in - coat check. Restaurant is beautiful, food exceptional, great ambiance, great sake list, great waitress. It was a little hard to find, it's behind a retail store, but otherwise perfect!
We have been going to Nobu since the week they opened on the corner of Hudson and Franklin in 1994. It’s been a mainstay throughout our lives and they never disappoint! The most recent dinner was for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. The Black Miso Cod and Matsuhisa Salad are our favorites but everything is delicious. We tried a bunch of new dishes including the truffle artichokes. Service is the best in the city by far. We have now made our children fans. We were very sad that the original location had closed since we have many great memories there, but the new space is beautiful. Can’t wait to go back!
Could have told us that the food in the bento box in not the same(although the names are the same) in the regular order. The food was really bad, didn't see that coming because I went to Nobu many times.
