Nobu Downtown Ratings and Reviews
I loved the intimacy of Nobu and Nobu Next Door when it was in Tribeca. When Nobu Downtown called to confirm my reservation they told me I had a limited time and that they may take my table away, which I thought was extremely rude. Our waiter was rude and hovering over the table waiting for us to finish and leave, and when we said we were done with the food that was on our table, he brought us the check and didn’t ask if we wanted dessert or any more drinks. Used to be my favorite place to dine when in NYC, and unfortunately I probably won’t go again.
We were recommended Nobu by multiple people! We were so excited to try it! The food was pretty good but service was not good for a high end restaurant. We loved the yellowtail and the crab tempura, sooo amazing! The beef entree was just okay, undercooked the first time then over cooked the next. All in all you could spend a good $300-400 here but I’m not sure if it’s worth it.
We have been going to Nobu since the week they opened on the corner of Hudson and Franklin in 1994. It’s been a mainstay throughout our lives and they never disappoint! The most recent dinner was for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. The Black Miso Cod and Matsuhisa Salad are our favorites but everything is delicious. We tried a bunch of new dishes including the truffle artichokes. Service is the best in the city by far. We have now made our children fans. We were very sad that the original location had closed since we have many great memories there, but the new space is beautiful. Can’t wait to go back!
We arrived 2 hours early for our reservation. The staff were very kind and accommodating. As we were in area shopping we thought we could take a chance and it worked out.
I love the option of being seated in the bar or main restaurant. Both I find equally gorgeous. Lovely ambiance, service spot on and just a beautiful atmosphere .
Nobu tribeca has closed and this is the new flagship restaurant.
Food is delicious, extensive wine and cocktail menu.
A great place to enjoy a meal in NYC
One of my favorites
It was a big mistake going here. We came hungry and left hungry with a lot of money spent.
The food was boring, really small servings and I make a more creative sashimi salad in my own kitchen.
I was expecting creative dishes and my mouth exploding with great flavours, but that never happened. Just another plate with uninspired food on baby salad.
If you want a great experience, go somewhere else!
Experience was amazing. Food/Service is great. Love the place.
It's just that since its moved, its in a building and hard to locate. Waze/Google maps take you to Dey st and you can get lost easily. That was a bit annoying since I walked around to look for the place for a while.
But nothing against the restaurant. We loved it.
A wonderful dining experience. The Matsuhisa Martini was one of the best I've had. Nobu is a real treat for seafood fans, and I was tempted by the Black Cod with Miso, but ended up selecting the Roasted Chilean Seabass. It was a joy to eat. But the standout for me was the Bigeye & Bluefin Toro Tartar. Simply put, it was sublime.
Found reception and person on the phone snobby and unfriendly.
I️ don’t like restaurants that call you in advance to tell you only have 2 hours to eat because they need the table back. (They would have had the table back in time if they hadn’t taken 15 min to bring the bill and another 20 to come back to take payment).
Ambiance was great. Food was good and staff generally friendly.
If the aim of the new place was to turn Nobu into a fancy fast food restaurant, job well done. Other than that, wouldn´t go there for a second time since the food was average to be polite, the service verry different to what you have come to expect from Nobu and the overall atmosphere has more of an annual fair than you would like to have.
