Nobu Miami Ratings and Reviews
We’ve been to numerous Nobu locations. It just seems a bit tired. None of the dishes were all that outstanding and a few were a bit disappointing. Service was good yet a bit smothering at times (I️ had four different servers try to remove my cocktail glass within a few minutes while half of it was still in the glass under a ton of crushed ice - yuzu sour). I️ feel that there are other places that do a better job of Japanese interpretation of modern seafood etc. Nobu has clearly been a great innovator in this space but likely some updates would be valued by some, including us. I’ll watch for changes then try again. The Nobu hotel was great however.
Overall great experience, good service and quality of food. Good explanation and guidance trough the menu! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Only negative point: when going to smoke we were being asked to leave something as a depot. First it implies that we are potential guests that don't want to pay. Secondly, this shouldn't be asked in an upper-level restaurant. Thirdly, I am pretty confident that we wouldn't have been asked if being e.g. older clientel or similar.
Overall the experience was positive however a few things were surprising of such an establishment with a fine reputation. The first table we we seated at was practically in the worker’s area where servers and bussers continually enter and exit. We asked to be moved and we were sat at a much more comfortable and intimate table. Our server was great and was very knowledgeable of the menu and the Nobu business chain. The bussers were somewhat over-active and repeatedly asked to remove plates that clearly still had food left to be eaten. It was almost like swatting flies to keep them away at times. Techno/trance music is played throughout the restaurant and we felt it was far too loud to allow for any table conversation as well as being a sensory distraction, inhibiting one being able to immerse in the food experience. We are curious if that is the Miami influence or if all Nobu venues play that style of music.
The food itself was fine, but of the more than 15 menu items we ordered nothing stood out as truly unique or deserving of ordering a second round. We will likely return but with a different expectation.
If you know the quality of the food in Nobu New York or Dubai you will be very disappointed. It seems that nobody was really trained in order to prepare the Nobu signature dishes. It had nothing to do with the quality we know from other Nobu restaurants. Not even the sushi was as good as in a simple Sushi place. The spicy tuna roll for example was just (extremely soft boiled) rice filled with a little tuna and Philadelphia. Nothing spicy or extraordinary at all. Our overall experience in this Nobu was to pay extremely high prices for very poor quality.
I almost don’t want to review this (to keep it a secret). Teppan at Nobu MIAMI is amazing. Yes, you read that right, teppan at Nobu! One room, one chef, one amazing evening. While everything was fab, the A5 wagyu friend rice was the star of the evening. This isn’t Benihana. This is superior quality, authentic teppan with an expert chef (Sean). 谢谢.
All went well for a birthday celebration for my wife until the birthday dessert plate was inscribed with “Happy 60th Birthday”. Unfortunately it was wrong by many years and after a request to get it corrected nothing was done. Well, c’est la vie but it was a downer for the evening after an otherwise delightful dinner.
Service was trash, miso cod came out after 26oz ribeye. Brussel sprouts came out after I finished lobster yuzu kosho, my friends scallops came out after everyone was done with their food. No manager was notified, no comp offered. Maybe the service sucks because servers in Miami are banking on that included %18 grat. Much better service at every other Nobu I’ve been to.
I’ve never written a review before, but after having spent several hundred dollars on the special tasting menu tonight, I couldn’t help but think I would have rather had dishwater. The menu was a travesty. The courses themselves tasted like leftovers. There was no server in charge. I actually intended to order the other tasting menu, but the idiots that work there couldn’t coordinate enough to fix the order. I’ve been to other locations and have never been as disappointed. This place is a farce.
Lovely food. Recipes area unique and everything tastes really good. Service was excellent. The Caesar salad at $36 was overpriced as it didn’t have any fish or meat. Black cod and the dessert were excellent. Location was very nice although nothing to do outside the hotel/restaurant.
Food was amazing, besides the risotto being under cooked everything else was outstanding. Was my girls birthday and a place she’s been wanting to go to for a long time. We came from out of town to stay in Miami. One of the best restaurants I’ve ate in my life.
Excellent; Not Cheap
Nobu has always set a great table in Miami, but with the upgraded seating areas and beautiful renovation, the restaurant has moved to the top of elegant establishments in Miami.
The food my date and I were served was exceptional, as well. The worst we had (one item) was really very good, just not AS good. The service was also top drawer. The waitress and her assistant were friendly and attentive.
We received a number of tips from our server. All of her recommendations were a big hit at the table. The only dish I selected solo, an octopus dish, fell short of the others. I would describe it as simply being very good.
The wine list was very adequate, if not exceptional. I give this restaurant my highest recommendation. One final note: Nobu is expensive. Expect to receive a sizable bill.
The food is always on point at any Nobu location. My service however was the worst service I have experienced at a Nobu. My waitress took my drink order and my food order and brought me the check. Those were the only times she came to my table. I ordered a soup and a roll. The soup looked a bit different but since it was Nobu I thought it was just ther spin on a soup. Turned out it was a side. I told my waitress I didn’t order this side I ordered soup, I even pointed at the item on the menu when ordering, and the side was more expensive than the soup. The price wasn’t the issue. My waitress told me if “I would have told her it was the wrong item she could have fixed it”. How would I have told her since she never came to my table other than the three times I had mentioned above. She didn’t even ask how the food was. She did offer to get her manager to see if he would adjust the bill and I said don’t bother. In my opinion there should have been no question. Poor customer service.
On two separate occasions 10 days apart as part of our holiday we visited this Resturant. The attentiveness of staff, their recommendations linked to our likes and dislikes were outstanding, the variety, quality and taste of the food was sublime and the special sake fabulous. We have visited Nobu in London several times but this exceeded even their very high standards.
