Nobu Malibu is known for exquisite cuisine featuring Nobu Matsuhisa’s signature dishes such as Tiradito, Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno, and Black Cod with Miso. We had a stunning night at Nobu Malibu. From the pre-dinner cocktails watching the beautiful sunset to the amazing courses of food dining on the deck, the staff were attentive and treated us like celebs (as we sat amongst celebs lol). We were with our teenage daughters and no issues taking our kids there with us. A memorable evening and meal 🙌

As someone who had long anticipated the experience of dining at Nobu Malibu, my recent visit was, unfortunately, underwhelming. Upon arrival, we were seated at a small table positioned directly along a high-traffic walkway. This placement proved to be less than ideal, as the constant foot traffic and interruptions made it nearly impossible to enjoy a relaxed conversation. For a restaurant of Nobu’s caliber, I expected more thoughtfulness in seating arrangements, especially given the ambiance they’re known for. The food, while presented well, was average in both flavor and execution—not quite living up to the reputation or the premium price point. Similarly, the service was courteous but lacked the attentiveness and polish typically associated with fine dining. That said, the ocean view was undeniably stunning and added a serene backdrop to the evening. Another unexpectedly positive detail was the bathroom—immaculately clean and well-designed, offering a small moment of luxury in an otherwise unremarkable experience. In summary, while Nobu Malibu delivers on aesthetics, both culinary execution and guest comfort could benefit from improvement. For a first-time visit, it felt more like a missed opportunity than a memorable occasion.

Service was very slow, never got a dessert menu, server finally asked if someone took our order for dessert, we had been waiting 15 min and finally just asked for our check. Awful! Not what you expect for that amount of $$$!

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the service was abysmal. The host was rude, unwelcoming, and had a sour attitude. Things only got worse with the manager, who was shockingly unprofessional, unable to answer basic questions and completely ignored an issue we brought up. Instead of resolving it, she stood off to the side chatting with staff and even rolled her eyes at us. Our server told us she needed to go on a break before even taking our order…why assign someone to a table if they’re not available? We felt rushed the entire time despite the restaurant being half-empty, and we were out in under an hour without even finishing our food. To top it off, we had noted it was a birthday celebration on the reservation, which was completely ignored. The server handed off our table to someone else mid-service and spent the rest of the time chatting with coworkers instead of doing her job. Absolutely unacceptable from start to finish. Would not recommend.

Very overhyped. The place was small with definite need for maintenance and not up to the usual nobu standards in my opinion. Front desk was a bit rude. But the server to our table was nice.
