Wonderful! Try the yellowfin jalapeño - awesome!
Went for no particular reason other than the reputation. Our waiter, Josh, asked if we’d trust him with menu select; we did and he didn’t disappointed. The yellowtail with jalapeño, albacore with truffle oil, beef and bass tacos, baked crab hand roll, seared salmon, and baked cod were all so good. The only ding I’d give is on portion sizes; small for the price. The service was perfect and was our meal.
Everything was outstanding. The cod is the most amazing seafood dish that all of us have ever had. The service is constant, but unobtrusive. The server patiently explained the menu items that needed explanation, and it was an overall great experience. We had been to Nobu in New York, and this was its equal. Loved the experience.
Best sushi ever
I prefer the Nobu in Malibu...
fabulous and delicious as always!!! never disappoints
The service was excellent. The food was very good. Some dishes were Wow! I was slightly disappointed in the Toro from such a high end restaurant. It was good, but not the best I have had, which is what I was hoping for. Also, great atmosphere and many options for vegetarians Overall... Excellent!
Terrible service. Small portions. Over priced.
Thank you for such a lovely evening celebrating our daughter's birthday. Food and service was terrific.
Dishes were good. Sushi wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Malibu Nobu is way better.
Have been to so many of the Nobu's around the world and this one has some special menu items that make it one of the very best. Don't miss the amazing food and service here.
Simply great food
Incrediblely delicious! We ordered double spicy tuna crispy rice with dipping sauce it was so tasty. Extremely attentive service. Every dish a delight. Beautiful atmosphere.
Magnificent meal, best I've ever eaten in fact, and impeccable service. I didn't like the table we were at. My seat was facing the room, but my husband was unimpressed with his view of a blank wall (for the cost of the meal). Very close to our neighbours either side, so could hear their conversations as clearly as our own. I would suggest two person booth seating along that wall so that all diners have a view of the room and a level of privacy to their conversation.
As I have said, the best meal I have ever had (and I've had a few), but to be honest, the bill left a bad taste in my mouth. I was expecting it to be expensive - but $300 a head (including tip, but no wine!!) left me shocked, and sorry I had tried the experience. I could only recommend this restaurant to people to whom money is no object. As a super special occasion maybe, but be prepared for bill shock.
Hosting out of country friends
Be prepared to have trouble finding parking. We also had trouble finding the entrance as it’s not on the main road. Food was good. We had sushi, which wasn’t anything spectacular. A table near us was very loud and talking politics. It was also strange the hostess calls out something loud when new parties walk in, probably to get the waiters attention.
Too salty unless u drink a lot.
Surprised by the valet stuff, valet fee was 8 dollars, paid him 20 he only pay me back 9. Didn’t say anything it was only a few dollars..Didnt like the dishonesty. That’s all.
Our dinner at Nobu was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life, and I’ve had some amazing meals in my time. Highly recommended if you can afford it. Worth every penny, imo.
Excelente sushi! I will go it again!
Fabulous food, great service. Would definitely return.
I think th Gap between Nobu Malibu and this point is very big
As it was my first time ı suggest you to improve the decoration
One of the better meals we’ve had - decor was okay (my wife’s a designer with a critical eye) - but was worth it nonetheless despite the cost (did a tasting menu).
Amazing food and experience. Very expensive, but hard to compare the artistry and quality to anything else.
It was an amazing experience. The waiters were very nice and respectful. I saw so many famous people.
The food was very good but the service was not good. Our waiter only came to our table twice and we had to call two other waiters to help us most of the time. The worst part about the service is that when you add the tip they watch you so you can't tip in privacy. The food was good, but the service was very poor.
Change of waiter halfway through the meal is always annoying. This should not happen in an establishment at that price / quality level. Makes you feel like you are at Islands burgers.
Bombbbbb food and decorations.
Most amazing food experience I've had. And service was amazing as well. Food is pricey but my taste buds never have experienced that type of cusine. I'd recommend coming here if you want to get the full dining experience so expect to drop well over 150 or more to get the better experience. For first timers I recommend getting the miso black cod fish, you won't regret it
Mediocre, almost tourist trap-ish
DISAPPOINTING! Great food - terrible service. My wife and I both ordered one of the tasting menus (the cheapest is $100/person). Here were my problems: they served one course while my wife was in the restroom - unacceptable; served one course while we were still finishing the previous one - unacceptable; had an empty glass of wine for 2 courses in a row - unacceptable; finally, the waitress stood over me while I filled out the check (they use an outdated personal transaction device). All unacceptable for $400+ for a dinner for two.
Food was great. Our sever Josh was outstanding
Really expensive. Not worth the price
Not too much food. We can get the same food at other japoneses restaurants for a better price
For a family of four be ready to spend $ 800-1000. Not cheap but any means. Plus I still had to stop and feed my son, very LA portion.
Nobu is known for its outstanding menu , sushi and sashimi. All of that is true. From there we go downhill. We were seated on time. Our server, David was sensational for the very short time he was our server. After 15 minutes David said we would have a new server. Woman with black bangs. She went over the menu suggesting all the very expensive menu items, did it fast, did not respond to questions well, had an accent that was hard to decipher, and said if we need more time she would come back. We had a very negative vibe. We ordered 5 starters and they all came at once. We were overloaded, hot and cold starters at once. We travel to Japan, eat in LA at many quality sushi bars, we know how it should be: calm atmosphere, relaxed, enjoy the ONE dish and its presentation before moving on to the next. This experience was NOT that! We requested them to slow down. We asked for David and ordered from him the rest of the night. But the negativity of the restaurant was apparent. Presentation: average on the plate. Nothing special to look at. Quality sushi/sashimi: wonderful. Service: Way too fast and so many at once. And taking away the plates: I wasn't quite finished with my shredded dikon raddish and a server just took it away with my chopsticks in the air. Our mouths were open- literally took the food out of my mouth. Besides being overpriced it's not a place we intend to go back to. Basically it is a WEHO tourist trap.
Great food! Everything was sooo good!!!
Great service from start to finish. Our waitress was one of the best we've had with our gluten free needs. She told us to decide what we liked and would do our best to accommodate us. They did and it was awesome! She and the food were 5 stars!
Great ambiance. Excellent food. Attentive wait staff. Good location.
I felt a bit rushed when looking at the menu. It was our first time there and we didn’t know whether to order everything at the same time or wait after appetizers. I wish someone could’ve told us so it could’ve saved us the embarrassment. Overall food was great. Service was ok.
Thanks Always good
