Nobu Los Angeles Ratings and Reviews
My last visit at McDonalds lasted longer then my 10 courses diner tonight....
I was in and out in 53 minutes with my guest paying a bill of 350 dollars.
The courses where standing in line like a traffic jam, we could hardly breathe.
The waiters only concern was, were we drinking enough.
This was no relaxed Friday night diner with my date, this was like a food challenge.
Nobu was my number one Restaurant, expensive but good!
No it’s only expensive, my last visit ever!
Food is really fantastic. Sea bass was amazing - best I’ve had! They don’t seem like they are super excited to serve you. Almost like you’re lucky to be there versus they are lucky to have your business. That’s probably because they aren’t hurting for business. However, it would be far nicer if they were a bit more friendly. I know it’s a celebrity hub, but I would think even they would prefer some friendlier service.
Def not worth the money. Took my boyfriend for his birthday and we sat directly on top of the couple next to us. Very noisy inside. We waited at least 20 min before we got our first dish that was for my bf and I had to wait till he finished his plate till they brought mine out. Our first server had a very strong accent and spoke very fast so we had to have another server help us out. He was actually very helpful and recommended dishes for us to try since it was our first time there. Drinks were strong good and strong was a plus and server did bring out dessert with his name on it so we loved that. Food was good but not worth $30 a plate for 3 tiny pieces of salmon.
We celebrated our sons birthday at Nobu. The food was very good but the service was awful. We couldn’t get the stat to bring water all night long. The cocktails we ordered took 30 minutes to deliver but the food started arringing right away. We felt like the wanted us out quickly. We saw our server 3 times the entire night. I had to get up to find her st one point. All the staff was arrogant and unfriendly. Terrible experience for such an expensive and known restaurant
Have always wanted to go, but didn’t really know what to expect. We sat at a corner table in a fairly dark side room away from the main bar (apparently Paul McCartneys’ table when he’s in town - which made my husband very happy!). The music is upbeat and fairly loud, but not so bad that you can’t have a conversation. Our waiter was very helpful and made some recommendations to us - possibly trying to push us in the direction of the most expensive items! We ordered mini lobster, crab and wagyu beef tacos - literally a mouthful each, but delicious. We also had blackened miso cod, roasted veg, tempura, scallops, wagyu beef and I had a very nice cappuccino ice cream with whiskey foam. The food was all very good, arriving at the table as and when it’s ready which I quite liked. The staff are constantly clearing the table, but without getting in the way. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, but it’s crazy expensive - obviously for the rich and famous and just a once in a lifetime experience for us!
Nobu was quite more than we expected, tasty and well prepared food, we had Avocado and Salmom sushi which is was very smooth and tasty, also we got the ceviche and it was incredible, Misso soup awesome too, and finally the crab it was delicious but size was VERY small... entrees should be a little bit more big. Drinks were good too, we had caipirinha and it was just perfect. Service was not excellent but neither that bad, maybe it was the time (10:00pm) and we understand staff maight be tired. I would
Absolutely recommend this place... and I hope I come back soon.
Food was fantastic as usual! Exciting fresh fish and crab dishes! Truffles and other exotic new fish to try. We had a glorious meal and excellent service. Great recommendations for seasonal and fresh new applications and preparations. The only improvement would be to accept a wide variety of reservations. We were given the choice of a 6:15 or 9:00 pm reservation. We chose 6:15 and the restaurant was still half empty when we left at 8:00 p.m..
Food is amazing and unique, but portions are very small and service from the wait staff was far less than attentive. With "family style" serving I would expect to see more consistent attention paid to the guests while they add additional courses/selections.
The food was amazing, even though we had a guest with us who has a medical condition requiring her not to eat a pretty long list of foods. The waiter was attentive and was able to make her happy as well as astound my husband and I with the quality of the food and preparation. Loved it!
This place is definitely overrated. Lived in LA for over 20 years and this is the first and last time I will eat here. So much of our food was forgotten. They cleared away my lobster roll before I was finished. We never received water and are edemame was the last thing we were given at the end of the evening. It was my birthday. Not a great experience at all.
The wagyu tacos were exquisite, the jalapeño amberjack sashimi melts in your mouth and the tempura vegetables give you the tempura taste that you crave. The Chilean sea bass exceeded our expectations for taste and seasoning. Compared to those dishes the black cod did not quite measure up - apparently it is a signature dish - but it lacked something in texture that was abundant in the sea bass.
Overall, a great experience for first timers. Do have the meal with sake - warmed for best result.
NOBU delivers big in all the right areas.
Sat at the Bar and the Sushi Chef made my choices, as it was my first time eating there.
Really had more of a tasting menu. The food was exquisite.
The Service was beyond excellent, never waited for anything and they gave me a lot of input on my choices. If your visiting LA, and you like sushi, this is The Place.
Portions were really small, cod was underwhelming, but the ribeye was good. Tables and chairs look and feel like Ikea furniture; our waitress was fantastic and exceptionally knowledgeable. Overall the experience was nothing special, especially considering the price point. The wagyu tacos were incredible though.
