Nobu Fifty Seven
Designed by David Rockwell, Nobu Fifty Seven evokes fluidity and the imagery of an Asian river with curves and details of abalone shell chandeliers, sliced bamboo stalks in terrazzo tiles, scorched ash tables and Japanese quilt fabric. Sake barrels imported from Japan tower over the first floor bar counter as diners make way to the upstairs dining room. Burnished woods, rich hues and soft lighting create an ambiance of elegance and refinement.
Always fabulous, can't go wrong with anything on the menu anyway, but tonight they had a fantastic Valentine's Day Omakase that was stupendous.
Great Valentines Day @ Nobu!
Sushi was ok, endammae was good just a really small serving.
Went there yesterday for Valentine's Day and went with a la carte. The place looks nice and everyone are very welcoming.
The food is just so so for the amount they charge. Instead of charging $10 a piece of sushi, I think it's worth $5pc. The food is not so traditional, everything is so salty and empowered the fish taste.
One thing I think management should totally change is use real chopsticks and not take out chopsticks. I felt like this is a tourist trap.
Gorgeous omakase. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.
Best food ever, a real treat even if a bit pricy.
Would recommend Nobu to anyone who wishes to have a great meal
the service fell very short of expectations.. it may have been the lateness of the evening ( we went at 9:30pm on a sunday) but no one was smiling, welcoming or warm. We were met with merely perfunctory or even worse total disinterest. The food was very good but for what it was? it is over priced. We can get an identical meal perhaps with more innovative preparation at KOI . We had the crispy rice with spicy tuna which I believed retailed for $28 which was way over priced and the original version at Koi is less expensive and better. The chefs choice sushi was lackluster and boring, really? a tuna roll ? I don't think we will return .
Went to Nobu for the first time to celebrate my husband’s birthday and it was amazing! From the service to the food - every second was worthwhile! Got seated earlier than our reservation date and we had a corner table - exactly what I requested! Food was delicious and we even tried something new: Yellowtail!
Can’t wait to go back!
Amazing food and atmosphere. A little pricey but well worth it.
Overall ok experience. Food was good. Tables around us super loud, destroying my appetite and mood. Not thrilled with the last waiter who brought our last course of omakase. Stuck his entire thumb into our bowl of ramen while carrying item. For a place like this I’d imagined they have much stricter training and requirements on their staffs.
First time going to Nobu and it was amazingly delicious! Took my boyfriend there for his birthday and everything was to complete satisfaction! I had called a day prior to confirm my reservation and the gentleman was more than helpful in any questions I had. The ambiance was dark and intimate, with great decor. We ate the salmon teriyaki, Rock tempura shrimp (AMAZING!) and salmon avocado sushi rolls! Service was great and our waitress was very informative in offering recommendations for drinks and also let us know the chef’s special for the night. You get what you pay for coming here and I would definitely come here again! Thanks NOBU for a wonderful experience!
Always a fabulous meal. We love the edamame choclo, washu skirt steak with anticucho sauce, arctic char with cilantro sauce, lamb rosemary miso and the bento box dessert 😋
Exceptional service, food, and quality of sushi. We ordered the omakase and it was an exceptional food journey.
The service is impeccable and the waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. It is an expensive restaurant but worth every penny.
Amazing food and the best staff. Love eating there!
Significant birthday celebration
Disappointed by level of noise and lack of lighting
Hit or miss with each dish ordered
Good pairing of wine selected with flavors of food chosen
Overpriced for overall experience
Will not return
Great sushi but other things such as a green salad and vegetable tempura are also delicious. I enjoy eating here every time I come to NYC
Awesome food & amazing atmosphere! Celebrated my college roommate & my birthday!
Always wonderful Nobu!!! Never a disappointment!!! Love Nobu!!!
A little on the expensive side!!
The food was amazing...., the place could be better ... but Nobu is always a must!!!!
Every time we eat at Nobu, it is a positive experience but this one was even more so than usual. We were dining with two of our adult children and their spouses as well as our 6 month old granddaughter. The service right from the hostess to the coat check person to our server could not have been better or more accommodating especially in regards to the baby. The high chair was at our table when we went to sit down and everything went smoothly from start to finish. The food was as fantastic as usual and the entire family enjoyed the dinner.
Menu selection was a little disappointing. Was hoping for more selection at a Nobu restaurant. Service was good and the food came quickly as requested. Nice decor but seemed a little too dark.
Amazing food and service! Had a one night layover in NYC after celebrating our honeymoon and my husbands birthday. Absolutely love this place!
Love the food, the service was ok and the ambience is fun.
Everything was great. The food is awesome! Try the oysters and sevice. They gave nice birthday present.
Excellent food, taste and quality. Is a very busy place, so the noise level is not really enjoyable.
Waitress was nice, friendly and very professionell
I didn't know Seafood could taste this good. The only thing that was OK was the sashimi. Everything else was divine.
Servizio scarso e rapporto qualità prezzo non soddisfacente...speravo meglio
Fun place to go in a date
Fantastic food and service
Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We told them we had to be in and out in an hour and they made sure of that with fast service. My phone was dying so I asked if there was a charging port and the waiter took my phone and charged it and even put it on airplane mode! The coat check/ down stairs receptionist was very nice and answered all my questions. The receptionist upstairs took pictures of me and my friends and was very nice while doing it! I would very much recommend Nobu for any occasion!!
Must be open table “seating” in front of the busboy station.
Excellent lobster tempura but beware the yellowtail with chilli sushi roll which was far too hot (spicy) for us. We went at a busy time (7pm) so ambience not so good and we felt like we were sat at the same table as the couple next to us. Grapefruit and Pineapple martinis were divine! Overall, I would highly recommend - pricey but worth it for a treat!
Sushi is the best!!
I wanted to love this place...I brought my niece here bc she had loved the one in LA. The service was decent. I expected to be "wowed" by the atmosphere but it reminded me of a really nice diner. We ordered the shrimp tempura as an app and it was good but I've had better at chain restaurants. The sushi was very good but certainly not outstanding. Finally we ordered the tenderloin with a couple of grams of white truffles and I was disappointed. The truffles were mediocre and the steak lacked flavor. They brought it with three sauces that certainly did not compliment the truffles. All this was expensive also. $200 for lunch for two of us. Neither of us had a drink. I would not go back.
The food, the service, the ambiance was absolutely incredible. I was there for my 30th birthday and I enjoyed every minute of my time there. I can’t wait to go back!
