As the first uptown New York location for legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, we opened with much anticipation in the summer of 2005.Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and Hollywood film producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature new style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Tiradito Nobu Style and Black Cod Miso. The restaurant received three stars from the New York Times.

    I ordered the $65 bento box. The miso cod and rock shrimp did not feel fresh. They had a weird aftertaste that wasn't normal for the two dishes. The miso cod was nowhere near as marinated as usual. The table behind us got a cod to share and it looked golden and beautiful and mine was fishy and could barely taste the yummy miso flavor. I also ordered the toro caviar and it just kind of reminded me of cat food. My table also got the crispy rice and avocado, and certainly is not worth $28. My one friend got the truffle ribeye and she said it was like 50% fat. I've gone to Nobu twice before and had positive experiences at dinner, but lunch was extremely disappointing. The vibe of the restaurant and concept are awesome, but I'm not sure if I would recommend lunch

    I’ve been a frequent diner at Nobu for years and might I say that they have always given the best service and accommodation to myself, friends, and family alike whenever I came. Liam is the best server so friendly, funny, and thoughtful. As always I will be dining with this restaurant again!

    Father’s Day brunch was great. When we were there at the start of service it was rather quiet and dishes came out at a perfect pace. Food was the usual excellent quality.

    To rushed food came out to fast within minutes of ordering. Impossible to make so many different things so fast all out at once. This has become the cheese cake factory of sushi

    The service was superlative as was the food. The fish especially was second to none. Nobu and Morimoto know fish and rice. Special occasion meal always! Highly recommend.
