As the first uptown New York location for legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, we opened with much anticipation in the summer of 2005.Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and Hollywood film producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature new style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Tiradito Nobu Style and Black Cod Miso. The restaurant received three stars from the New York Times.

    Service was subpar compared to the 10+ other nobu restaurants I’ve frequented. Upon us being seated, the Maitre’d mentioned to us that “you have to be finished by 4,” even though our reservation was at 2:45. It was very strange. For much of the meal, we could see the hostess and maitred making rude comments after they seated people and rolling their eyes at customers. Very unprofessional host staff at this nobu. I will say our server was good.

    The service is amazing. The food had an impeccable appearance. They combine textures and flavors in unique ways to create flavourful dishes that set them apart from other restaurants. To revisit service, they were attentive and the food came out with perfect timing.
