Nobu Fifty Seven, el primer establecimiento ubicado en la zona residencial de Nueva York del legendario chef Nobu Matsuhisa, abrió en el verano del 2005. Los copropietarios del Nobu son sus socios de toda la vida: el renombrado empresario de restaurantes Drew Nieporent, el actor ganador de un Oscar, Robert De Niro, y el productor de Hollywood Meir Teper. This restaurant is huge - I mean very large. Not intimate in any way, which I was sort of surprised at. If you are seated upstairs, there is a long flight of stairs - beautiful, but a lot. Elevator is the Service elevator. Anyway, our waiter was very nice. Food was lovely - my husband loved his sushi and the other dishes were tasty. It was lunchtime, so didn't want to eat a heavy meal. Problem came when we wanted to pay with a gift certificate - they had way too much trouble figuring this out. Finally the manager came but when it became too complicated for him, he pretty much let the waiter try to understand why. It was ridiculous and way too much brain cells lost and totally ruined the whole experience. We just wanted to pay the difference and include a generous tip - we really needed to leave for an appointment.

Food SO SALTY. And all felt really unhealthy. Maybe I should’ve known better, but 'crispy rice with tuna’ was 6 cubes of rice deep fried in stale oil. We were unprepared for how SMALL the portions were (waiter didn’t suggest we order more) so we ordered our meal in multiple sections, as we realised time and again how tiny each item was. Sashimi "salad" was so so oily, and so salty (genuinely too salty) I added an extra bowl of rice, just to dilute the oily saltysaltysalty dressing. Yeah, wow. Again, I feel silly for not knowing better, everyone says Nobu is just a rip-off Japanese Popeyes. Next time I’ll save my money instead. Or go to a Japanese restaurant that’s Japanese owned.

La nourriture était bonne sans être extraordinaire. La dame a l’entrée a été désagréable. Le lieu était très bruyant. Nous ne recommandons pas cet endroit

Nobu 57 is always great. Food is amazing, staff if great and the vibe if awesome. Don’t miss the wagyu tacos, new style tofu, crispy rice spicy tuna!

They cleared our plates so fast it felt rushed. As soon as we were done with one dish, the plates were gone and new ones set. They cleared my beer glass before I drank the last bit. It felt like turnover was a key factor pushing their speed. For the price, it seems like it should be a bit slower and more relaxing. Food was excellent though.

Beautifully prepared and presented Japanese cuisine! The rock shrimp tempera was excellent, as was the black cod with miso. We also had the sushi selection for $68, more than we needed, but delicious.

This was our first time at any Nobu restaurant and it was fantastic! I love the vibe, the waitstaff was fantastic and helpful when ordering, overall great experience. My only regret is that we didn’t try more food!! The Lychee martini and ribeye with yuzu honey truffle butter were top tier!
