Join us for dinner in a spacious covered outdoor oasis. Nobu Fifty Seven is now available for outdoor reservations. Please call us for more information and to book a table!

As the first uptown New York location for legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, we opened with much anticipation in the summer of 2005.Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and Hollywood film producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature new style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Tiradito Nobu Style and Black Cod Miso, and the hibachi table. The restaurant received three stars from the New York Times.

The food was simply out of this world. There really are no words to properly describe how delicious everything at Nobu is...so I’ll just stop typing... :)

I just don't understand what people like about this place. Admitted the ambience is nice and the service was good. However the food is really mediocre and it is very overpriced even for manhatten.

Food quality was not very good. $600 Dinner for two, I expect better quality food. Cocktails were not good, except for the espresso martinis to end the night.

Our hostess was aloof when asking about seating. She clearly didn’t want to be at work.
Our server had the poorest attitude of being bothered. My foreign colleague wanted to leave soon after he arrived but, I assured him that Nobu has standards and it would get better—-it did not.

I’m a New Yorker and used to be a regular, I will not return. It was a cold feeling and unwelcoming, very disappointing to have a $400 bill and leave to eat elsewhere where people smiled and were genuinely happy and appreciative of our patronage. We have a choice during these tough times and we don’t have to choose Nobu57. Not now, nor after the pandemic.

Couldn't find our reservation, told us to stand aside
took forever to get us seated
asked the waitress for a hot Hojicha, and the server said we don't have Hojicha, despite the fact that Hojicha is on the menu

Terrible experience

High standards yield high results. Since it’s inception, Nobu downtown and then Nobu57 always exceed my expectations.

Too much light and noise from the street
We had one dish with hair
One dish with bug
No one apologies and no one take care of us
And we are eating in restaurants twice a week and it’s never happened to us

This was a bday celebration for my girlfriend. Overall, I was pretty happy with the experience.

Loved the miso lamb chop but a little pricey at $24/chop
Toro tartare with caviar was unimpressive and pricey at $50 for 3" diameter
Enjoyed the scallop and smelt egg rolls hand roll
BENTO BOX of Valrhona Dark Chocolate Fondant (this was a lava cake) and Imperial Matcha Gelato was good but not great.

note: they forgot bday candle though they asked when reservation was made. Also, patrons were very casually dressed. Even saw a couple of folk in hoodies

Food was standard, not exciting. The rice used to make rolls was a bit soggy. Service was very good, however. Overall, there are better places for quality Japanese food.

My husband and I live in the neighborhood so we're regulars even though we mostly walk-in without reservations and have a drink while we wait for an available table. Either way we can always count on the food, service and ambiance to be exceptional. Our favorite place to dine at in NYC.

Lovely and delicious meal especially considering that we were sitting outside and it was about 40 degrees and breezy. The service was excellent. They could benefit from a few more heat lamps because the more secluded tables are a little chilly. But otherwise quite a wonderful evening during a pandemic. Still one of our favorite places.

Extremely tiny portions, the prices went up drastically compare to "pre-Covid". We had dinner on upper 2nd flr level, super dark lit dinning area with a feeling you are dinning in a basement, doomed funeral like atmosphere. I believe my cocktail was contaminated with unknown substance, I got so sick suddenly to the point that I almost needed to go to an emergency room. I believe either the person who made the drink or the server who brought that drink to the table added some unknown substance into my drink. I feel like were were targeted by the either server or bartender, the cocktails we ordered almost killed me and made me extremely sick for days. Will never go to this location of Nobu EVER AGAIN. I should of filed a police report but I realized it will probably go nowhere.
