As the first uptown New York location for legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, we opened with much anticipation in the summer of 2005.Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and Hollywood film producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature new style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Tiradito Nobu Style and Black Cod Miso. The restaurant received three stars from the New York Times.

    The crispy rice and rock shrimp were awesome! The drinks were also really tasty. Overall, I think everything is overpriced but definitely worth trying once!

    Our families first time there, my son is a huge sushi lover, the food did not disappoint. Everything was so delicious and the staff were amazing. Plates did not pile up on the table, they were quick to tidy after each course and I totally appreciated that!

    It so pains me to say our experience at Nobu 57 was downright disappointing. Had an 1145am lunch reservation. Seated promptly, and within moments a server came by to take orders. We ordered a first round of appetizers and said we'd order as we went. 15 minutes later, no food had arrived and a different server came by and asked if we were ready to order. We told them we had already ordered some, but we could order additionally. Which we did. After another 15 minutes, they began bringing food out from our second order. The food from the first order was never put in, according to them. Eventually, all but one dish made it out to us. When we asked about it, the server behaved as if we never ordered it. That was enough for us. We paid the check and left. For a restaurant with this reputation, with such sky high prices, things like this should never happen. Can't see us going back. It's just not worth the money.

    Service was okay. We felt hurried. The waiter did not get our drinks first. Instead salad and some food came out first. We then waited for our drinks. Then after some food the soup came out. Odd. I would have thought drinks, then soup and then the food. Food in general is good but I have been to Nobu a few times and would say compared to American and Italian restaurants, the overall service and serving order is not great.

    Things went well until we were forcefully pushed out the door as we were waiting for an Uber while it was raining outside. We sat upstairs and had a good experience. We headed downstairs and used the restroom. Afterward we stood to book a car. The manager physically pushed us out into the indoor/outdoor entrance. Then stood there and harassed us until we went fully outside. He claimed he needed to go home. Meanwhile other customers were still finishing their drinks inside. Never in my life have I ever been treated so rudely for no reason. What a horrible establishment with men who harass women.

    The food is always unique and good. My problem was I called when the restaurant opened to have them save two orders of dumplings which I love. They took my name and reservation time but when I arrived there were no dumplings. The waiter said they do not serve them at lunch, but I have had them many times at lunch. Then the waiter said the people answering the phone do not always communicate the information to the kitchen. No matter what the story is all I know is I was quite disappointed to not have the dumplings I ordered. When you go to a premier restaurant you do not expect to hear excuses like those given.

    Always good food and service when at Nobu57. I understand inflation, but really? $12 for a 12oz bottle of beer? Ridiculous even by NYC standards.

    First time ever service was not good. The waiter even brought our drinks and sticky glasses. And for a Monday night there should be no excuse.

    NOBU keeps delivering. We haven’t been here in 20 years. Incredibly, 20 years on and it is still great. It’s pricey, but worth it.
