Nobu Fifty Seven
As the first uptown New York location for legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, we opened with much anticipation in the summer of 2005.Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and Hollywood film producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature new style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Tiradito Nobu Style and Black Cod Miso, and the hibachi table. The restaurant received three stars from the New York Times.

Food was great but service was SO slow
Fantastic meal and service.
No the best place for Sushi as expected. Expensive (value va food), limited options, regular service.
Good Foie grass dumplings and yellowtail tiradito
The hosts at the front were extremely rude and didn’t even place my reservation on the phone as they promised. I honestly felt profiled as I was on this date. The food was amazing don’t get me wrong but I feel as though the front service was absolutely terrible. It was extremely odd how after they told me they placed me on the waitlist I was able to book a reservation through this app which had an opening 10 minutes away from when they denied me. Thank you for this app which allowed me to book, if it wasn’t for this app I would of been waiting for no reservation
Expensive but worth every penny. Everything was amazing from service to the food
Awesome food and atmosphere. Outdoor is great
Astounding food and service. The spicy tuna roll and beef tenderloin were amazing.
They have a great outdoor set up during the pandemic. Food was slightly disappointing given the extraordinarily high prices, and not as good as the last few times we have eaten at other Nobu restaurants. I did not like that the spicy tuna crispy rice came with the tuna on the side. Everything else was good but nothing blew me away. Regardless, I would probably go back because if their great outdoor set up.
eating inside is a bit dicey now but we dared! It feels odd to be upstairs with so few people but we were glad of it.
The food, as always, was exceptional. The toro was "like budda;" it basically melted in our mouthes.
Dining again with you on Thursday, outside this time with the crowds. Looking forward!
My daughter’s 25th birthday!! While eating outside isn’t as intimate and comfortable as indoor, and temperature is dropping, it’s been a pleasant experience and my family had great time!! Food is always exquisite, cleanliness & safety very good! One suggestion, maybe portable heaters would help. 🎂
I had a reservation at 9.15 and waited until almost 10.00 pm
We stood around for so long until we got to be seated. Waited about 25 minutes after our scheduled reservation until we could sit while watching other walk in's sit before us. The hostesses are usually pretty condescending and rude, but this was much worse. Their hostesses have always been such a problem!
The food and the waiter was amazing though.
Amazing experience and delicious food!
Best sushi and service in NYC!!
Just the food was good.
Services regular but not good to be a high scale restaurant.
Drinks it’s ok
Nobu downtown it’s better services and Nobu Milan its a real good experiences.
Nobu is my absolute favorite restaurant. The yellowtail jalapeño has me hooked for years. Everything start to finish is such a delight. The drinks never disappoint and I can’t get over the whiskey cappuccino. It’s a light dessert with the best crunchies ever! I will be back soon! Can’t wait!
Il nostro ristorante favorito! Cibo fresco e di alta qualità! Lo consigliamo a tutti di provarlo!
Dining at Nobu since it opened in Tribeca in the 90's. Annual tradition to dine during my Birthday week at Nobu. This was a Birthday celebration. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Even with advance reservations, we still had to wait. Seated outside for safety purposes so, the food traveled far from the kitchen. Every dish was cold and mushy.
Ok, understand that NYC is suffering and in the middle of a pandemic. We got by the cold food.....BUT, the most disappointing part of the meal was the infamous Lychee martini at 26 dollars a pop. The Lychee Martini states on the menu it's made of Finlandia vodka, St Germain liqueur, lychee juice. The Lychee martini's we ordered, received and consumed were NOT made of top shelf anything. The Vodka was not the usual top shelf. The drinks tasted cheap and didn't go down easy. Normally a few Lychees with a meal is perfect and no reaction at all. This time, both my hubby and I were very sick a few hours later from the cheap Vodka. Dizzy, bad headache and the food wouldn't stay down. We only drank total of 1.5 drinks each. The adverse reaction ruined our entire evening and next day. We have kids to a night out is precious time. This was a big celebration and it was ruined. I will not dine at NOBU again anytime soon...especially during the pandemic. This brand has gone completely CORPORATE and lost all attention to detail. I sure miss the old days of NOBU! Thanks but NO THANKS!
It sucks the Nobu’s world wide have the menu items but made totally differently. I don’t know how you can make waygu taste so ordinary but they did. The crispy rice was hard as hell beyond crispy. I was underwhelmed with the dishes
Nice ambiance. Food was excellent.
The restaurant is really good, fish is delicious. Only the servers need to be train ( unfriendly) .
I LOVE CRISPY RICE!!!!
Great dinner. Dinner was amazing and the service was terrific. Some of my favorite dishes in the city and it never disappoints.
Licious food terrific service. Outdoor dining. Not much ambience atmosphere but the food makes up for that inadequacy
The yellowtail was AMAZING
Food was very good
Service was outstanding
Our waiter was a little brusque who lacked a sense of humor and serviced our table as if we were eating in a fast food joint. Given the pandemic I am giving them the benefit of the doubt as they have the best outdoor situation in the city where you are protected regardless of the weather. The edamame were mealy but the drinks and sushi were divine. It’s unfortunate the waiter has no idea who I was sitting with but it’s their loss and better to get the true nature of a business without special treatment.
They ran out of food no lobster salad I came their for lobster only I was extremely disappointed then they gave me grilled shrimps no season no nothing no taste the buttered lettuce was barely buttery they put 2 candied pecans on salad no taste
It was bad I was completely disappointed I drove far to
We went for our anniversary dinner whic
This is a wonderful high end place. There was one issue that is likely a COVID related. Service was a little slow. I suspect they were understaffed that evening.
I made the reservation probably 10 days ago and I still got one of the tables outside...
We enjoyed the evening! The food and wine was delicious. All staff wore masks and gloves. We scanned a QR code to see the menu on our phones. Our waiter was helpful and knowledgeable of the menu, he made several great recommendations. The outdoor tables were spaced a good distance apart. Ambience was good, the area was pleasantly lit. The traffic noise on 57th St was a occasionally bothersome.
Our waitress Pea was phenomenal. Best waitress we have had
They space the tables outside nicely due to covid 19.
The service was prompt and attentive.
They made it clear that due to covid 19 we only had table for 2 hours.
One of The best restaurant in nyc , food is delicious dessert yummy and a good service to complete the package .
If you're going to splurge, splurge here... And always get the shaved watermelon dessert
My daughter’s birthday was spectacular! Thank you Nobu!!
Always hands down the best food along with service! Liam was my waiters name, my second time during the Covid having him serve me, always on point and never lets me down. I will be coming back soon! Thank you Nobu 57 for an awesome experience as usual!
Dined here for a special occasion during Covid restrictions. Overall wonderful experience!
Excellent Experience. Will definitely be back soon
