No Name Restaurant
Amazing food and service if you are ever in Boston you must have a meal here
Yeah We would recommend the No Name for a casual quick Luncheon or early Dinner, we found the Menu was very limited , not meant for a special celebration!
You will get the freshest seafood here! Right off the boat.
Perfect place. Perfect price. Will return. Food was awesome.
Sewage smell in the front of the building is nauseating and makes you not want to eat the food inside. Flies everywhere, ambiance could be better. Food is extremely bland as well.
Fried or broiled. Not fancy but hearty and down to earth. Could use a little more cream in their dishes. Very touristy spot.
great iconic seafood restaurant. fantastic food and service.
Great seafood and service!
Best Seafood I've ever had. Prices were a little high for the ambiance but other than that great experience. Would definitely recommend.
My husband had a combo seafood platter that he loved. I got fried clams that were bland. They give you tartar sauce on your plate which should have been on separate dish since I don’t like tartar sauce. They only offer 2 sides, fries and coleslaw. Both were good but I think they should offer a salad and vegetable too. They give you a lot of food. This place is very drab and could use some paint and decor. We sat by the window and could see the planes as they took off. There is a sidewalk in front of the restaurant and then the water. I asked for a sea breeze and they couldn’t make it. You had to order from their limited drink list. Reasonable prices for Boston but don’t have high expectations for the atmosphere.
Very basic ambience and atmosphere, but that's not why you go to No Name. The seafood is excellent. Vegetables are primarily french fries and coleslaw; otherwise limited choice of vegetables.
Service was great. Our server was very nice and personable. We were in Boston on vacation and had limited places to try for dinner and took a chance with No Name. We got the lobster, shrimp and scallops entres. It was all over cooked and very disappointing. Neither of us ate half the meal. The view of the water was nice. I wouldn’t go there for the food or drinks though.
Our server was AMAZING! He was so funny and entertaining!
From start to finish, this was the PERFECT place to bring our first time visitors to Boston for a true taste of seafood and Boston Hospitality. I loved the fried clam roll, my husband's bluefish was fantastic and the grilled seafood plates for our guest were sublime. I hadn't seen the owner for a bit, but he remembered my family and myself and asked about all my relatives.
Cannot wait to go back!
You want fresh New England seafood? This is the place. Located right on the pier.
The food was great and the service was excellent!!
The food was wonderful and right on the water. The staff gave us a lot of tips for visitors to this great city.
Genuine Old school Boston place. Food is solid but not a gourmet experience.
Ate here years ago, now its mediocre at best would not waste my money
A table of 3, we ordered the fish sandwich, lobster roll and smelts with a bowl of chowder. The fish sandwich consisted of over cooked thin tails and the sour pickle-centric tarter sauce. (no mayo to speak of). The lobster roll was good, but overpriced. The smelts were perfect, simple and fresh and a bargain at $7.95. Good cole slaw. Average fries. The chowder never arrived.
The first night we ate at this restaurant the food was excellent. I had oysters and my wife had shrimp. I must say the portions of each were very generous. The seafood chowder was excellent some of the best I had while in Boston. It was so good we ate there the next day for lunch. My wife had shrimp again (which was good) however my seafood chowder was horrible. The so-called chowder was just some kind of runny soup with large chunks of fish in it. I did find one little shrimp. I asked the manager about it and he said the receipe did not change. Whatever happened the chowder was nothing like I had the night before. To his credit the manager did not charge me for it. I would have rated this restaurant 5 stars except for my bad experience with the chowder.
The food is outstanding! Gina our waiter was amazing. Anytime I am in Boston this is my go to place!
I ordered the shrimp salad. It was literally a bowl of iceberg and a few unseasoned shrimp on top. That’s it. No tomato, onion, just lettuce and shrimp. The shrimp had zero seasoning. Very disappointing.
No frills seafood place on the waterfront. Casual atmosphere with picnic style tables. Fresh seafood prepared more for volume and value over presentation or uniqueness. Lobster out of the shell was good, swordfish a little tough. We were looking for fresh seafood at a reasonable price and this place delivered.
Everyone at the No Name made our holiday dinner extra special they treated us like family! Everything was delicious! Very full when we left! Thank you!
Freshest seafood to be found. Delicious. Outdated, no nonsense, bare bones setting. Servers are a cast of characters who bring smiles to the patrons’ faces. Great value and genuine Boston experience.
Sehr frischer Fisch , toll zubereitet
If you are looking for no frills, just fresh seafood on the water, look no further. Nothing fancy here but tasty food and excellent service. Loved the casual, relaxed atmosphere. Good place to bring the family.
Accommodated party of 12 easily. Broiled seafood platter excellent. Sautéed seafood platter good; scallops lobster not so sweet & tender.
Great food ,the atmosphere was excellent an the personal that worked there was fabulous.
The restaurant had good reviews, but I was really disappointed. I had to add pepper and tabasco to the food to get some flavor. I had a broiled seafood platter and a glass of wine, with vegetables on the side. I have actually had better food in hospital cafeterias. My total bill should have been around $20, not the over $40 that I paid. I could see a restaurant out the window that I should have chosen instead. Also, the wait staff was nice enough but one spent time on his phone in plain view of patrons. I don't know how anyone gave them 4 stars.
If you have time while in Boston, this is worth a stop. Old restaurant, limited menu - you get broiled or fried - quality is great, service is excellent. I have been going for years on my trips to Boston and am never disappointed. Due to limited menu, food comes out without a long wait. Prices are very good for the quality.
Our waiter was wonderful. Gave us great suggestions on the seafood selections and was just the nicest guy. Food was very good for the price.
Despite the opentable reservation, this restaurant operates on a sort of first come-first serve basis, as most everyone made reservations and the space is a bit small.
The food however was great, and if you’ve never been and love seafood, it’s a must have. Check the menu first, as the options can be limited, but guaranteed fresh.
Quality of food was pretty good. Lobster was not very soft. Why? Courses did not arrive well synchronized. Fried schrimps while we were beginning our chowder.
Best boiled lobster in Boston-nothing fancy just straight up great lobster
It’s a downscale, bus tour seafood shack. Everything is fried or over boiled.
Classic, but not that good.
This was our third year visiting No Name. It was wonderful as always.
