our neighborhood goto. we go about once a month or more and it's consistently good food. good cocktails. minimal wine list.
The ambience is really lovely here.: romantic lighting and good music, tables well spaced. The staff was very good and service was prompt. When I was looking at the menu online there were no go to dishes that made me say yes I definitely want to eat here but the good reviews and the look of the place were appealing. The food tasted good but some flavors were a little odd like the bread was served with a bean dip instead of just butter or oil and it tasted a little strange. The salmon entrée had a sauce that didn’t enhance its flavor but it was well cooked. The broccoli tacos were original and tasty. However, both of us had upset stomachs later in the evening and the next day—nothing too extreme, but it seemed connected to that meal. I’m not sure that given that I would return despite other positive qualities to the restaurant.
Delicious meal with many options. Lovely and friendly service and beautiful ambiance!
Food, cocktails, ambiance and service were all top notch. Never felt rushed or abandoned. A must try spot!
The menu is unique so it might take some time for you to decide! Everything my party of 3 had, we loved....except for some buckwheat gnocchi. Our waitress was outstanding, offering to go above and beyond any of our requests (I like a lot of ice). This was my first time at No.7 in years - I think they renovated and added booths. Also, there is less of a cooking smell in the dining area - must have improved ventilation somehow. Big improvement! It is a charming place. If you don't want a whole entree, I recommend the fish tacos which can even be eaten without the tortillas and still be satisfying. Appetizers and small snacks are also good and go great with the cocktails.
Consistently great food & drink. The broccoli tacos are amazing! The cocktail & wine lists are also top notch, and the service is always great. Highly recommend.
Tim is the best server 👍
We always have a great time, food, drinks and service at No 7! We go at least once a month for half price wine bottles and their wine list is great.
In short: Food was very good, but service was lacking for a restaurant of this price range. Would still recommend giving it a shot if you find the menu appealing.
For some more detail: No one to seat us when we first arrived. Waited a couple minutes, not a big deal, but person who did come was not friendly, seemed annoyed.
Waitress was friendly, but a little slow. When our orders were finally taken, food didn't take long to be served, but my plate was lukewarm.
I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, flavor was excellent, but unfortunately it just wasn't hot anymore, room temperature after a few bites. A shame because otherwise it would've been a great dish. The other main dish was warm / hot, so I imagine the plates just weren't timed correctly and my sandwich was sitting for a few minutes before it was served.
If any of these mistakes had happened alone, I would happily give 4 or 5 stars, but the service was subpar throughout the evening.
I really enjoyed dinner at this place! While some might describe the ambience as plain, I found it very pleasant and relaxing--a real "local hangout" feel. Host and servers were very friendly and attentive. Both my fried broccoli appetizer and grilled salmon with mango relish entree were delicious! Will happily dine here again!
The food was spectacular, as well as the wine. The wait staff was friendly and attentive – overall a really great experience.
Always worth a stop. The broccoli tacos are perfect.
Nice little spot. Food was delicious and service was great. Will Definitely be returning
As always, a delightful brunch for all. Highly recommend.
NO. 7 was great - it's a perfect pre-show restaurant - lively but not uncomfortably busy. It's a good vibe - staff was friendly, relaxed, accommodating and the food was delicious.
Nice, simple local place for good food and friendly service.
Quiet on a Tuesday night. 2 for 1 wine specials ("2 for Tuesday"), which paired nicely with our meal. The waitress was thoughtful and attentive when necessary. All courses were great. I have been here on a weekend years ago when it was packed, and the experience was not memorable. Glad that I returned on a quieter night where I could enjoy the dining experience.
I usually love this place but so disappointed this past Saturday. Hot coffee room temperature or lukewarm, broccoli tacos too acidic, alcoholic drinks underwhelming and overpriced.
I’ll give another try as I loved in the past but ..........
Please, never take Broccoli Tacos off the menu. They are our favorite and keep bringing us back.
No air conditioning service eh and food wasn’t good :( not a fan
Our group thought the food was uninspired. One person's steak was a bit tough, another thought the veggie burger meh. And, have to say, the the three small dumplings for $10 were a total rip-off. All in all, a better bar than restaurant.
I go to No7 all the time, and not once has it ever disappointed me. It's one of my favorite spots in the city, and it's as much about the staff as it is the food.
I will definitely return! Food was amazing, drinks were just right, the booth we got because we had a reservation was spacious and comfortable!
Great food and cocktails, beautiful venue
very impressed by this local find. great ambiance, with vintage feeling bar up front and open dining in the back with is well lit by sky lights. the food, frankly, was a very pleasant surprise. all the dishes were timely prepared, nuanced and flavorful. casual, hip vibe, nice local crowd, good food, great cocktails.
Great casual neighborhood spot with delicious (and veg-friendly) food, nice staff, and cool space. The fries were a bit soggy this trip, but definitely recommend.
The food was fantastic , but it was a little bit loud and drafty.
Great service and food!
Really enjoyed dinner at No. 7. Food was interesting and delicious. Wine menu had some good choices and went well with the meal. Wait staff was friendly and accommodating. The kitchen kindly accommodated food restrictions.
What a neighborhood gem! No. 7 is a fantastic place to have a great meal, an excellent glass of wine, and enjoy key culture spots in Fort Greene. In fact, the food and service were so on point I went two nights in a row. I'd travel from CT (where I live) to dine there again.
On night 1: the fish tacos were fresh and inventive (strawberry salsa worked); the side salad was just the right amount (though a few less red onions would've been OK); the Pecorino wine was outstanding; and the pecan-chocolate tart was scrumptious. Night 2: the hamburger was excellent--nicely seasoned meat; perfectly cooked. Pinot Noir was great. Both nights, the service was outstanding: prompt, informed, attentive, friendly.
The restaurant's in walking distance of the Barclay's Center, Theater for a New Audience, and two fabulous Brooklyn bookstores (Greenlight and Center for Fiction). The "C" subway stops directly in front of the restaurant: exit at Lafayette Avenue and you're there.
No. 7 is a keeper on my list!
Food, drinks, and service were awesome. Fried chicken is out of control fantastic.
Terrible service. Honestly I'll never go back. But if you like the vibe and the food is okay, and you don't care how your server treats you, then give it a try.
The mood in this place was depressed angry and sad. Out of 4 people we met only one seemed welcoming. Service was swift but lacked kindness. The gniochi was gummy. The veggie berger not bad. Waiter had no interest or knowedge on the wine. No good byes.
Friendly reliable service. Food consistently delish.
Excellent food, ambiance and service. You should treat yourself to NO.7
Very nice experience. The food was delicious and I will definitely go again.
Love No.7. I wish the would put some absorption panels on the ceiling. It can get uncomfortably loud in there. That said we love the restaurant.
Food was really good. The two servers we interacted with were very curt and seemed miserable.
Cozy neighborhood boite, excellent food. Pretty noisy, in a way that's hard to avoid when there are big tables of friends having a good time in a high-ceilinged space.
Birthday for my friend! Good times there
