   Food was great - I had the chicken parm and it was fablous - and very large. Caesar salad with kale was also yummy. But perhaps the best thing about our evening was how prepared and accommodating our server was to deal with one member of our party who has celiac. The server immediately was able to recommend the dishes he could eat -- almost everything on the menu could be made gluten-free. He also made sure that croutons came on the side and there was no cross contamination. I was really impressed that he was able to address this situation with no hesitation or checking with the kitchen or a manager. We sat on the back patio and it was very pleasant, but the yard just beyond it was a little unsightly and distracting. Pictures on the website show it strewn with seated tables, so maybe they're just gearing up? We overstayed our welcome and the staff was cleaning up as we left, but no one ever rushed us or made us feel unwelcome. Great experience!

   After several dining experiences at 246, this was my first somewhat disappointing visit. There was little to distinguish 246 from an average Italian restaurant this time. The food was average and the waiter seemed to be more interested in increasing the overall tab than helping to ensure a excellent dining experience. He told us about the evening’s “special” chicken scallopini. I made a mistake ordering the special, which was the regular Limone with a few ramps and a type of mushroom. My first experience with ramps wasn’t good. They were a bit chewy. But the tab indicating a $10 up charge for the scallopini left a sour taste in my mouth.

    This restaurant is atmosphere ready . I love the open kitchen and the ability to see the chefs in action . The food is amazingly delicious . The wood fire oven pizza and scratch made pasta is to die for . Please make a reservation . This place is extremely busy .. but worth the wait !!

    Dinner with family with three of us in party. We sat on the outdoor covered patio. Very pleasant with overhead fans and plenty of space. Enjoyed the garlic bread (like a pizza), Cesar salad , chicken parmigiana, shrimp scampi and pasta for dinner. All very tasty and service was great. We will be back to try more in downtown Decatur soon. Thanks 246 and staff.

    Delicious food and drinks and outstanding service. Emily was a delight and very informative and attentive. We appreciated that we were able to have our meal coursed out so we didn’t feel rushed or that we overstayed our welcome. Can’t recommend enough.

    Food was excellent, as always. We brought our kids and were pleasantly surprised they have a kids menu with crayons. Our server was attentive and so very nice to us, helped us pick a great bottle of wine. Service was a touch slow at the very beginning but everything worked out in the end.

    The place was bustling & lively on a Saturday night. I had to call a few times to change my reservation. The hostess was very friendly & accommodating. We ordered fried calamari, the shrimp scampi, & the spicy black spaghetti with gulf shrimp. Everything was delicious & fresh. Our server was particularly helpful.     We love 246 for special occasions, and it again did not disappoint. Food was excellent—their yummy garlic bread can ruin an appetite, but is worth it—get it and take some home. We had chicken parm and chicken masala with sides of pasta for entrees—both excellent with large enough portions to bring half home for lunch. Our waitress was excellent, kept us in the loop for delays on our entrees (was prom night with every table full), and even brought a meatball to hold us over. And her suggestion for dessert was right on too—the EVOO pudding cake. We will be back!
