I was disappointed in my lunch meal. I have been to NM Cafe a couple of times in the past few years. Memorable has been the popovers with the strawberry butter. This time, however, the popover was lukewarm and only mediocre. My cousin enjoyed her crab cake salad; however I found my bistro salad (spinach, chicken, cranberries, blue cheese, candied walnuts) also only so-so.
Overall, I guess I will not be back, as I think there might be other options to check out in Stanford Shopping Center and vicinity.

Convenient, very good food, portions almost too big - should consider half orders.

Good service but the food is not as good as it used to be, though the prices have escalated. My chicken salad was dry and tasteless.

Lovely birthday lunch. The restaurant was very slow today, so they were very patient with us taking a VERY long lunch. We had a great time.

My friends and I have enjoying lunches here for many years. Pretty much always satisfied with
our food and service. Of course we love the popovers and the consomme. I know that getting
together with friends for lunch Neiman Marcus Cafe will always be at the top of the list.

Our server made the meal. Excellent food and service...just the table was not in the best location; too close to wait staff station...loved the NM salad, orange souffle...

A great menu and kitchen. Please hire an interior designer. Was I revisiting the 70s? Compared to SF the space is undecorated and sterile. Call Pushelberg ASAP!!!!

I love the salad menu choices. My favorite is the popover bread with strawberry butter. My daughter likes to eat at the cafe and enjoy the orange soufflé and a pot of chicken consommé.

Great service. Chicken salad sandwich was fabulous. The chicken was fresh, not out of a can. Buck's in Woodside uses canned crab and chicken and charges outrageous prices. Our server was outstanding. and she was lovely.

This is not what it used to be! Food was average with small portions and high prices. My favorite chicken salad was bland and the jello was as hard as a rock. Popovers were tasteless. It is quiet !

My main reason for going to this restaurant is that it is quiet. Of course, it is convenient if you are shopping at Stanford Shopping Center. The food is a bit pricey for what you get but the popovers are wonderful.

Nice service. At the end of the meal, I asked for some extra consumme, the waiter brought us a whole pot. Very generous. Love the pre meal puff pastry with strawberry butter. The chicken sandwich was ok. The neighboring tables were all very civilized and talked with low voices. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Have eaten there many times and its fairly consistent and good. When it's busy, there are never enough wait staff. This time (a lunch) it was busy and service was lacking until the restaurant had fewer customers. Would go back, but was disappointed by the service--not a problem with the servers, just there were too few to handle so many tables.

The service is very slow at this location. The food is OK. The steak sandwich was just ok. I wasn't at all impressed. There is really no value. Actually very overpriced. $25 for a steak sandwich was not worth it.

We love going to NM Cafe for the consume and popovers. The service was not always perfect but because we go there so often, the greeter and waitress know us which really helps the dining experience. This time, they were clearly understaffed (not the workers' fault) and we saw some people left without ordering because they waited so long to be served. There was only one busboy and he doesn't seem to know what he was doing. Poor guy was not trained, again for the workers fault.

Thankfully the quality of food did not compromise.

We had a very nice lunch. The guests included (4) fifty something women and (8 )80-90 year olds. We had 2 guests not accounted for in the count and the restaurant accommodated the extra women without any issues. We appreciated the popovers, although I think they would be even better if served with a savory butter instead of sweet. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The restaurant had no problem with the dessert I had brought. We also appreciated that we were not rushed at all. Our reservation was for 12 noon, and we did not leave until almost 3 p.m. Great food and even better service.

The cafe is a favorite of mine. I've been here many times, and this was the first time I was disappointed. Not by the food - it was delicious. The service was atrocious. The staff was neglectful and they would argue with each other on the floor. I was disappointed to see this behavior. I believe this was a one time occurrence and anticipate that my next meal there will be pleasant as usual.
