NM Cafe at Neiman Marcus - Northpark Ratings and Reviews
Service needs improvement. Always seem to be under staffed ; it takes forever to order and get someone's attention.
Also the dip was too spicy even though it's not advertised as such and the lettuce was wilted on the salad. Would expect a higher standard from NM...
We made reservations for 3pm on open table but NM cafe closed at 3pm. NM setup their open table account with the wrong Information and the staff refused to accommodate our party. and said the kitchen just closed. The employees at the reception desk were snarky and rude and implied that the "3pm" issue was our fault.
My mother and I have monthly pedicures together at Neiman- Marcus, North Park, then lunch, which we always enjoy! We adore and love dining at the Cafe,' the Mermaid Bar, and of course, the infamous "Zodiac" downtown! Thanks for such great and awesome memories! Taffeta
Been going to the various Neiman Marcus cafe's for a long time and have fond memories of the traditional consumee and popover. Regrettably for the second time at this location the service has been poor, with food delivered late or cold. Despite calling (politely) attention to issues to the manager the results were ineffectual. If you are going to Neimans at this location skip the cafe.
I took my mom to lunch here for something a little different than our normal spots. I hadn't been to the NM Cafe since it was called Mariposa (I believe). They've done a beautiful remodel of the space and I very much enjoyed the clean lines and more modern decor. I ordered the steak salad and it was just OK. My mom had the orange soufflé and she said it was good. Granted, I k ow it's NM, but for a $26 salad, I was expecting to be wowed. I ordered my steak medium rare, and it was a tough medium. The salad itself was a romaine head with some Gorgonzola sprinkled on top. Off to the side were 2 thick red onion slices, 2 tomatoe slices, and 2 cuts of beef. It felt to me like they were backed up in the kitchen and didn't have time to chop and mix the ingredients together. The dressing was served on the side and I appreciated that...and the fact that the dressing itself was tasty. My biggest complaint was over our server. He hovered too close while we were looking at the menu. I had to send him away twice. We were really reading the menu, and not talking like oftentimes happens when you're with a group of friends trying to get caught up. When we asked to see the dessert menu, again he hovered. Nothing on the dessert menu tickled our fancy so we passed on dessert. Our waiter brought our check and then disappeared for several minutes before coming back to run my card. For the price of lunch for 2 of us, I was not satisfied with our experience.
NM Cafe is the perfect spot for a classy, intimate lunch! A demitasse cup of tasty chicken broth and a delicious popover arrive shortly after being seated! Our entrees were presented beautifully and were delicious!
The wait-staff is friendly and accommodating! Looking for a reason to return!!
Neiman Marcus has traditionally been kown for popovers. I was taking a friend to lunch for her birthday. She expressly asked if they still had popovers at North Park like at the Zodiac Room. I called ahead to make sure they still serve them. They did serve them but they were dry and hard and crumbly. For that reason I probably would not recommend it. If they are going to carry on a tradition it should live up to the standard. If not, it should just be discontinued.
