NM Cafe at Neiman Marcus - Atlanta Ratings and Reviews
Great food, great staff. We often eat lunch at NM Cafe when traveling and visiting malls. We were seated immediately and the service was polite and professional. We did wait about 50 minutes after our order to get our food. It was obvious a large party was seated in the adjacent private room and the kitchen got a little behind. We had this happen in Dallas NM as well, so be prepared for a wait. Again, staff professional, food was fantastic, and reasonably priced for what it is.
Waitress was very sweet. I've never had an issue with the Chardonnay at a NM Cafe before, but this time the wine was really off and it wasn't just my palate, my guest also agreed. Normally, management would come over when there are such issues, but that didn't happen.Otherwise, lovely lunch spot and very fresh food.
Our waiter was TOO BUSY. We had to ask for water yet he was very quick getting wine, etc. He alsos very slow and not attentive to our needs. Of course, it was Christmas BUT nevertheless a customer is a customer!! I left him 15% tip and he was very rude about that. The tip was more than 15% on the food as I do NOT tip on taxes. He was obviously annoyed that I did not leave more $ although his service wasn't very good. Of course, this will not deter r my returning there as I frequently meet friends there for lunch; however, this was a special occasion as my two daughters and a grandson from New York was here for holiday and I thought it would be very special to go there after visiting Santa & riding the Pink Pig!!
I have been having lunch at NM Zodiac Restaurant since the arrival in Atlanta and have always had the Mandarin Orange soufflé lunch. Never change and it is always very good. I do think the
pop overs aren't as good as they once were and this day they were a bit over cooked BUT good enough for me to eat 2!!!
The service was horrible it took way too long for him to come to the table when we first sat down. We asked for the check to be split and he didn't split it. He just didn't seem like he knew what he was doing. And for the price and the name the service I would expect to be better.
Service was good! But....sent back tacos due to stale tortillas, got the waiter's recommendation instead which turned out to be a boring turkey and cheese on white bread with tired lettuce. Sorry, but the concept of chicken broth to start the meal as a palate cleanser was not appealing to me. Lastly, the pretty popover was cold and rubbery. Won't be back.
I had brunch reservations at the NM cafe with my mother and sister. We decided to do a group brunch there since we used to go all the time when we were children. I got there first of the group and didnt get approached by our "server" for over 10 mins. When they did come by I ordered a water and a mimosa. It took 10 mins for them to bring me a water + 20 mins for the mimosa. Seriously?? The waitress we had was terrible. For a while she didnt come by our table and we even questioned if she was still there or not. The food was just ok. With the premium price tag on the food you'd think the service would at least be to par but it was not. Im having lunch in Neiman Marcus for crying out loud!
I asked for a box to take home with me my half of sandwich and salad leftovers and our waitress boxed it for me. When I got home to check the leftovers she wrapped my sandwich in a tiny box with my salad so my sandwich was inedible and soggy by the time I got home. I don't plan on ever going back to the cafe in Neimans unless I hear they overhauled their customer service abilities. Terrible!
Ps not sure if this person was a host or a manager but a tall man in glasses who sat me at my table and came by several times to top off our waters and clear our tables oh, and we had to ask for popovers and broth. Isn't that a NM cafe signature? Anyway- he was great. Wish he was our server but he seemed to be running around picking up all the servers slack.
This was a special occasion - an interview for my son in Atlanta following college graduation. I had called ahead and spoke with the manager. Everyone from the hostess, to the wait staff (who were superb!) to the manager himself made us feel welcomed and spoiled! The roasted chicken with garlic potatoes was wonderful for my grown son! The BBQ sauce on the Brisket sandwich wasn't quite the taste that was expected from someone who had lived in Dallas for 20 years for my husband, but that's hard to find outside the Lone Star State. My Orange Souffle and Chicken Salad was NM perfect as well as the wonderful take on the Popovers with Strawberry Butter!
With a wonderful congratulatory dessert and coffee, the meal was as much as celebration in the day as was spending time with family. So go ahead, indulge yourself!
The atmosphere, service and food was great. We had a Saturday lunch reservation and the experience was exceptional. Our server did a great job of helping us make the right selection and provided us with great service during the meal. The lunch selections are very delicious and reasonably priced. I can't wait to go back.
We had two reservations for lunch on Friday November 14th. One for a table of 6 and one for a table of 5. We arrived on time but they were not prepared for us and it took a good 15 minutes to set the tables. We had two separate waitresses, which was the point of booking two tables.
The service was incredibly slow, the bills at the end were very slow to come. There was a large party in the private room. It was quite noisy and we had to ask that the door be closed.
It is a tradition for us to have lunch there on our last day of shopping. It will not be in the future. Overall it was just a bad experience. A restaurant should be able to handle a party of 6 without much difficulty. We had to ask for water. I had to ask for my French fries to be reheated.
We will not go back. Our lunch at Nordstrom's the previous day was delightful and we had great food and service.
I reserved a table for a group of 8 coming into town for a day of shopping and I had been to NM Cafe in December of last year and had a good experience. First off, we had to wait 20minutes from the time the server came by to take our drink orders to get a glass of water and our cocktails. I had to ask other waitstaff twice before our water came to the table. The service from our waiter was horrible. We were there for an hour and a half and most of that was waiting for service. Very disappointed in the experience. The food was good, but won't be back to Neiman Marcus Cafe at all for lunch.
I took a group of girls on a 3 hour drive to Atlanta for a birthday celebration / shopping day. I made a reservation for us for lunch at Neiman Marcus because in the past it had been a special and delicious and lovely restaurant. It is not what is used to be. so sad, service was terrible and rude, food was fair at best and lunch was a total disappointment. I will not go back. fast food in the food court would have been better.
I took my granddaughters to lunch, they love Neimans. They had not been in a very long time!!! Not only was the restaurant cold, but the service was slow. Our drinks were not refilled in a timely fashion, as well as we waited for lunch over a reasonable wait period. People who arrived after our arrival received their food first. Very sketchy. I have been there numerous times and it hasn't been like this.
The food was just ok and not exactly cooked as ordered. The presentation was nice but the waiter either didn't listen or just chose to not honor the two requests I made. However the reduction sauce on the dish was nice but was disappointed. The salad we ordered with it was excellent.
