Favorite for some time. Disappointing this time. Spiciness requested was not correct.
We love coming to Nirvana when we are in NYC. This time, a late bus got us to town with only 30 minutes for dinner before we had to leave for a play on Broadway. Nirvana was great about shifting our reservation, then providing dinner with enough time for us to enjoy it and get to our play on time. They were also terrific about dealing with my dietary restrictions. The food is always good. The service is outstanding. It's also great value, a very reasonable price for very good quality.
Generous portions. Very attentive service. Food could be spicier.
Great wine flights and food.
Food was great. Service was great and friendly
Sat downstairs because they were having a party upstairs. Not used to being squashed when eating here but all was good
Food is always fresh and delicious. Service was fine although our regular servers must have been working the party. Enjoyed the meal. Will certainly return
Lento il servizio
Buona cucina indiana
Attenzione quando vi chiedono la gradazione di piccante!!!
Authentic Indian cuisine located in the Midtown East/Grand Central area. My husband ordered the tandoori chicken & i had the lamb korma....both were delicious & the chicken was very moist :) We also had 2 orders of the keema naan which was very good with a side of raita. I would recommend Nirvana for good, authentic Indian food.
All the Vegiterian curry were made very poorly. Lots of water than quality ingredients. Not so special for Indian food.
Great meal and atmosphere
Service is accommodating and waiters couldn’t be nicer but can be spotty Food is outstanding. One of my favorite Indian restaurants. I was so happy to see their reopening 10 years ago from their Central Pk West days It’s the best in nyc.
A very lovely dining experience. Food was outstanding and a nice departure from all the steakhouses around Grand Central Station.
Would go again, no questions asked.
We didn’t eat here.
We left at 7:30, after waiting thirty minutes for our 7pm reservation. A private party had booked upstairs, leaving available only the few tables downstairs.
Why three stars? On the positive side, the host and hostess seemed genuinely concerned with the situation and comped our bar drinks. On the negative side, another couple was seated ahead of us after we had been promised “the next table.” I also found interesting the fact that Open Table showed the availability of reservations at 7:30, the time we left when Nirvana was unable to seat us.
I love this Resturant. When I am in town for work I always dine at Nirvana!! Great food! Great ambiance!
Food and service were both excellent! There was no wait and they gave us a great table by the window.
Was impressed with interesting vegetarian menu and overall ambiance.
We love Indian food, and Nirvana was probably the best we've ever had in NYC. From the creative cocktails to the welcoming staff, everything at Nirvana surpassed our expectations. Be prepared for spicier than you think for "medium spicy" items. The Chana (split pea) side dish was surprisingly hot! Go to Nirvana with an empty stomach--you'll want to try a little of everything. Highly recommend.
Was very tasty and enjoyed the meal. The tandoori chicken was very good. Could have cut it off the bone with a spoon.
Would go again.
Appetizers were okay, but the lamb saag, lamb korma, and other entrees were quite bland
Great food with a nice ambiance. Variety of food was very good!
Muy buena opción para comer comida india en NYC. Volveremos!
Visited for the first time whilst on holiday. Great find and would definitely recommend as the food was delicious and very reasonably priced.
As always, dinner here is a great experience. Tables are far enough apart so that you can have a conversation without whispering so that the people at the next table can't hear you. The service and food is wonderful and you never feel rushed. Great for spending time with friends you haven't seen in a while.
Consistently delicious food, friendly staff
Food cooked and seasoned perfectly
This is a great place. I come for lunches once a month. Always found this place great.
It's value for money.
It's very trendy for an Indian restaurant.
The service is very good. Staff friendly.
Service was excellent and friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered spicy and we got spicy. Not always the case in an Indian restaurant when you are a white guy. Highly recommended.
Always reliable. Delicious dishes. Very friendly waitstaff
Would highly recommend to family and friends
I have a meal here most weeks, and am never disappointed. The food is consistently great, service warm and always friendly. I feel special every time, and will continue to return whenever possible.
Best Indian restaurant I know.
Have been coming here for a long time .. amazing experience most of the time .. the service staff are helpful, polite with the right balance of service .. six stars for them
Food at the last visit was not at level of previously experienced; perhaps the chef was out, but definitely of lesser quality in execution ... past experiences served perfectly cooked and seasoned meats and seafood at the right sized portions .. my recent experience had me on undercooked and no flavor scallops, dull chicken (tasted more like frozen chicken breast out of the microwave and buried in tasty I must say sauce)
Regardless ... great place with one bad execution .. I will of course revisit ... hopefully the regular chef will be back
Usually suspicious about places serving buffet at lunch time. The suspicion was warranted. There are so many great Indian places in the area. Nans are good.
I love taking my daughter here for Indian, particularly since the chef understands the word "mild" unlike many Indian restaurants in NYC!
Good restaurant. The service could have been better and the restaurant was a little worn on the inside.
Excellent food. Quick and friendly service. Very satisfied.
Awesome - I go there very regularly and am never disappointed.
Really good from all perspectives.
The service was very friendly and quick.
Good Indian food. Nice vegetarian selection. I had the Malai mushroom with lemon rice. Awesome.
Run-of-the-mill Indian food. The lunch buffet was decent.
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Ambiance was quiet enough for conversation without having to shout. Definitely will return.
Always great, really is. I eat there regularly.
Welcome and service was good but food was tasteless , we tried to feed ourselves on frenchfries and ketchup after not being able to eat and upon ordering
No french fries and ketchup as last resort on this restaurant - they say its an Indian restaurant not serving these
The food was excellent all around but everyone who works there is just of the kindest nature and just makes dinner that much nicer.
