Excellent flavors in all dishes the table ordered. Excellent desserts, with appropriate sizing.
A lovely place to dine with very friendly wait staff, excellent menu choices, delicious food and appealing decor. Very convenient for attending the Art Festival and Pageant of the Masters.
I highly recommend Nirvana Grille.
Nirvana has the mist delicious vegetable entree I’ve ever eaten.... I usually feel sorry for myself when I stick to a vegetarian diet in a good restaurant. But not here! It’s fabulous!
We both ordered steaks medium rare. My New York was cooked medium rare but the filet was overcooked a little, more like medium. Otherwise the salads were excellent and so was the service.
Love this place! So many good things. Must have the corn and the stuffed chili. Drinks are great too!
The food and atmosphere was fabulous
Staff were efficient, courteous and friendly. Food was great and delivered promptly.
Very nice, but not amazing experience. Service was attentive, but still had to ask for bread and more tea and coffee more than once. Food was excellent (especially mud pie!) and pretty close to market price. Inside ambiance very cozy and warm, but probably wouldn't have ventured in based on street exterior had it not been found on Open Table. Great location for a good meal if you're headed to Pageant, Playhouse or just a walk around downtown Laguna. All in all, a positive experience for the four of us, but not committed to a repeat performance.
Nirvana had a great menu. We had a vegan and vegetarian pescatarian in a normal person. Nirvana had a lovely meal for all our various requirements.
The food was excellent. Perfectly prepared salmon dish. The bread was fresh, warm and had a lovely texture. The service and all personnel were gracious and practiced.
My only regret is that the majority of the seating is extremely close. Only a couple of tables allowed for a reasonably intimate dining experience.
Slow service due to lack of personnel. Food, wine and drinks were very good.
Great experience! The food was delicious and the service was excellent!
Everything from the location, service, food and ambience were fantastic.
We have always been happy with everything at Nirvana. Our 52 year old son who was born and still lives in Laguna come with friends and business dinners. Thanks for being here.
We were seated by the kitchen and there were a couple of the staff that were continuously using curse words. They were speaking Spanish so I guess they didn’t think we would understand what they were saying. A table was added directly behind us which left very little room for staff to walk to the kitchen so I got accidentally hit in the head. The furniture and interior of the restaurant were really worn out. We had the romaine salad which was good, but it had too much dressing. We also had four small plates which were excellent.
It's been years since I last visited Nirvana Grille and I am so happy to report it is still amazing! Tildy was the hostess and she was absolutely wonderful, hard to believe it was her first night!
My BFF and I met for dinner, we were running late so we called and Tildy sweetly told us not to worry, our table was ready for us and to just get ourselves there safely (how kind is that!?)
Our server was really fantastic as was the busser (who also started that night). We were tended to throughout the meal yet not rushed in any way. We started with the grilled artichoke, which was delicious, it was served with a trio of dipping sauce and the pest sauce, well I could have had that as a cup of soup it was so fresh and flavorful. Next we split the filet mignon and the sea bass. Both were cooked to perfection, seasoned delightfully and served with asparagus and seasonal veggies. We were so happy with our selections, each entree was wonderful. We split the chocolate molten lava cake for dessert, it was dry and not the highlight of the meal- but it didn't take away from a great experience and great meal.
Can hardly wait to go back! Make a reservation if you're going on a weekend, you'll be glad you did.
Five friends and I were going to the theater at Laguna Playhouse and so I made reservations at Nirvana Grille. None of them had been there before and all were delighted with the food and the atmosphere and the overall experience was wonderful. It’s been a while since I’ve been there and forgot how much I really love Lindsay and her wonderful dishes!❤️
Wonderful as always!
One of my favourite places to dine. The menu is seasonal, portions are generous, ingredients are fresh, and everything is delicious. Vegetarian and gluten free options available, and a full bar. They have a menu for young persons (kids). The service is always friendly and inviting. I've gone with friends, on dates, and with children. We like to dine here before going to the Laguna Playhouse or Pageant of the Masters. It's across the street in close walking distance. On our last visit, we had the Roasted Poblano Chile, Wild Mushroom Ravioli, Chicken Wontons, Filet Brochettes, and Organic Gnocchi with a Chicken Breast side. For dessert, we enjoyed the ice cream: House-Made Goat Cheese Maple (surprisingly good, tangy and sweet), House-Made Cinnamon, and Dark Chocolate Truffle. Definitely worth a visit, and highly recommended.
The food is great as is the setting. I especially love the choices from appetizers, small plates and regular entrees so everyone in our party was happy.
First time. Went for a special evening before a play. The food was chef level, tasty, served hot. Service was personal and attentive. I loved the vegetarian options and accommodations. I will definitely go again and invite a few colleagues.
We dinned on a Sunday at 6:30PM, is was not super busy. Meal and desert is delicious totally worth every penny. Service was very polite and quick. Location is right by the beach. Highly recommend it.
Incredible food and atmosphere.
We have been to Nirvana many times prior to this and have always had a good experience. However, this time was different. I made a reservation almost a week in advance but when we arrived, they told us that since we had made "same day reservations" they could only seat us outside. Even though that was not true, we looked outside and there were flies everywhere so said that we wanted to sit inside. They did acomodate us and we were seated inside. Then we ordered our drinks and waited at least 30 minutes to get them. They ran out of what my daughter wanted to order. This would've been fine if our server would've told us this prior to our looking at the menu. The food finally came probably 45 minutes to an hour later. Then it was time to order dessert. Again, they ran out of what we wanted to order. Which again would've been find had they told us prior to looking at the dessert menu. My husband also ordered a second drink that never came. The chef did come out to apologize to us about our wait. She explained that they overbooked by mistake and they were very overwhelmed. She also gave us $50 off of our bill. That was nice of her to come out and talk to us. All in all it was not a good experience and it was mother's day so it was extra bad.
Great location, but that was about it. Went there on Mother’s Day. Got seated right at our reservation time, but took forever to order and get our food. They were busy, but our server disappeared for long stretches of time. Food was average. Too many other options in the area before I’d go back.
Had high hopes for a wonderful mother's day dinner, but walked out with a meh experience. First, they weren't ready to open at 5pm; finally got let in 5:15-5:20ish. We were seated right behind the hostess stand (I get that somebody has to be seated there, but it's not a great seat to have nice conversation since you can hear all the chatter from check-ins). The booths have their upholstery coming off, and there was a broken plate under the table....not great first impressions. Overall the food was good(two ordered rockfish - excellent, but one ordered the chimi steak which was served lukewarm and rare, when medium was ordered. Was sent back and returned still rare). Desserts were excellent. Overall we may come back again, but it didn't live up to our expectations.
Food was good but very over priced. Could have eaten the same food at a dozen other places for less
The food at Nirvana Grille has always been delicious, and the food is never brought out cold or in a mess. It is always visually appealing and tastes amazing. My only complaint about my last visit there was that the waitstaff seemed somewhat disorganized, we would specifically point out items on the menu and they would assume a completely different item. Other than that it was a very enjoyable experience.
Great food. Not great service. Apparently someone called off but didn’t manage well. Was forgotten about several times. Got the bill wrong. Last to be served for Mother’s Day brunch. But food was delicious so we’d give them another shot. Don’t wear white pants or shorts though. The booth cloth is peeling and got all over our clothes and legs. Pretty gross.
Nirvana Grille never disappoints. The food is fresh, service is excellent and ambiance very good (I'd prefer a little lower volume on the 'music.')
A warm and welcoming environment with excellent menu options from steak to vegan. Fresh fish options particularly good.
Meat was tough, service sketchy deserts good...................................and
We dine hear regularly, with friends and sometimes just the two of us. The food is interesting and delicious. I love the stuffed chile (not spicy) and my husband loves the mussels. Great drinks, good wine selection. We also enjoy Happy hour at the bar before or after a play at the Laguna Playhouse.
We were celebrating a special birthday and the staff did its best in making it a very special evening.
This restaurant has been a great option in the past, however off the mark. Food was just warm, service was not great and seating uncomfortable.
Our favorite place to dine in Laguna. We go early and enjoy a quiet repast.
Nirvana Grill was perfect for pre theatre at Laguna Playhouse. The food & service were great. I just wish I had known before getting the playbill that if you show your tickets, you get 10% off! We will definitely go there again.
Wonderful find. Food, service, and atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Kind of pricey. Quiet restaurant; almost too quite. Salmon was good.
Food was great and fairly priced. No problem substituting side dishes on entrees. Entire experience was great. Definitely will return.
