It's our favorite sushi in St. Louis. We have eaten sushi all over the United States.

Nippon Tei Sushi is among the best I've ever had. It's a little pricey. We save it for a special occasion.

A mix of classic and creative sushi. The salmon/avocado roll was reliably delicious, and the red dragon and dynamite rolls were a sushi lover's dream. While our waiter could have been a little more attentive (forgot to put our appetizer order in), my experience at Nippon Tei was amazing. Would recommend to anyone in the STL metro area.

We have been to Nippon a million times and have recommended it many. This visit was very disappointing. They were out of lettuce for the salad. Also out of avocado for the avocado rolls. This was at 630 on a Saturday night:(

This is our favorite sushi restaurant in St. Louis ! They have exceptional quality and great service. Angela & Jay always remember us and usually remember something we love to order or they recommend something that looks amazing or is an off menu special. If you haven't been here you are missing out! I grew up on sushi in California...and, Neppon Tei competes with the best of them!

We came for Valentines Day and it was crowded but somehow it was not noisy. We were able to converse and enjoy our wonderful sushi. Our service was impeccable and sushi was shear perfection. The presentation down to the salad was worthy of pictures!

This was some of the best sushi I have had in Saint Louis. Since we had a large group, I was able to try several of the rolls. They were all great. The White Tuna Sashimi was amazing. The Miso Soup is also great.

Food was presented beautifully. We had the night's special "tower" of seafood with ahi tuna,
shrimp, and copious amounts of caviar-like fish eggs, it was delightful and most delicious.

We have been going here for at least 10 years. The staff is always friendly and professional. They taught our kids to use chopsticks when they were little and it is still our whole family's favorite place to go. Great sushi and ambiance!

Always delicious. My favorite sushi in town. Always start with the sashimi appetizer, what a bargain. Huge pieces of fish(I'd say twice the size of most others' sashimi plates, about 12-15oz of fish on their app). Fish is fresh, which of course is always a concern with seafood, especially in stl. Sushi is never known to be cheap, but here you get your moneys worth, if not more.

I always love dinning at Nippon Tei. The food is consistently good. The service is always good and the environment is nice. There are a lot of sub par sushi restaurants in West St. Louis County-this is our go to. It is clean, the food tastes fresh and there are lots of options to choose from. It can easily accommodate those that don't do sushi and those that love it. Even my 5 year old begs to come here all the time. In the last couple years they have really been revamping the menu and marketing, now offering food and drink specials. Great restaurant.

This is hands down the best sushi you'll ever eat! Everything is fresh, delicious and well presented. We had the marinated baby octopus appetizer - it was phenomenal! We also had the "protein roll" that was the special of the evening. That was the best thing I've ever put in my mouth!

Love the fresh sushi, and a favorite is the Red Dragon!
My favs along with the sushi rolls are the Crab Rangoon appetizer-the absolute BEST...never get rid of it!!
Loved the "Baked Manchester" (scallop combo, takes a while to be made, but so worth it!)..hope to have brought back to the regular menu!! Also love the Ramen Tei offerings next door, so don't miss out on trying that as well! One of my favorite go to restaurants.

Always great food and service! The only thing we didn't like was that the host sat everyone in the same section in the back when the whole restaurant was largely empty. I guess we should have requested a table further away from the loud children seated next to us.

Service was not very fast - it took 5+ minutes for our server to come to the table, so we couldn't even order drinks. As my date had read on other online reviews, the sushi rolls were cut into very large pieces making them hard to eat. And being a sushi restaurant there weren't forks/knives to cut them into smaller pieces. Suggestion for the restaurant - cut the spicy tuna roll into pieces the same thickness as the dynamite roll. If the service is faster and the rolls cut into reasonable sized pieces we'd easily go back.

Booked this spot for Valentine's Day dinner date. First time we have ate there. The food was excellent, fresh, nice portions, tasty.

The service was a bit slow. Our server was capable of great service, all tables around us he was serving were getting great prompt attention. However we did not receive anywhere close to this same level. We had to wait for everything. They were busy, we were on a date, it was not an inconvenience, it was just noticed.

We will go back. Hopefully we will get recognized as a repeat customer and get the good service I saw happening to the other tables.

I love the feel of dining at Nippon Tei. The sushi is good although the selection doesn't seem as large as other sushi restaurants. I've always gotten the Manchester roll(?), which was a baked dish with scallops, but it wasn't on the menu the last time I was there. I'm happy with most local sushi restaurants and Nippon Tei is no exception.

I have been meaning to try Nippon Tei for several years. Living out of town made it challenge. So glad I was finally able to make it happen. The wait was well worth it. I took a group of 6 people having made a reservation through OpenTable. When we arrived the wait staff was prepared and had our table already set. The wait staff remained excellent all through the meal. The meals were all fabulous. Even those in our party that were leery of Japanese/Asian food remarked how awesome the food was. If you are in the neighborhood or across town the trip to Nippon Tei will be worth it!

Almost everything was good. The spicy tuna roll was not. There was a piece of skin or tendon in every piece of the sushi roll making it hard to enjoy and, at times, swallow.
