Had a reservation and even received a reminder confirmation from Open Table and got there and they were closed, not open on Sunday's for dinner, so won't use Open Table ever again.

Nippers was a great little find, just outside Manchester, VT village. The menu was a nice mix between comfort food and more exotic dishes. I had a pork tenderloin top with goat cheese and roasted pears, outstanding! Service was very good. The place is small, only seats about 24, put a nice comfortable place to dine. It also was a great value, which is nice to find these days. I will definitely go back when in Manchester again.

We have had some very good dinners here, but this was not one of them. The fried Chicken came out with a ice cold center, the redone dinner was way over fried/ burnt. This Dinner was not at all enjoyable or worthwhile.

Wonderful restaurant with great food, warm/friendly service! Nipper's Steakhouse is our favorite place for dinner when we are in VT for a long fall weekend! We've been coming here for a few years now, and as with the past years, this past weekend's dinner was great! Thanks Karen & team for another nice evening!

Love the outdoor patio dining, particularly when Duane Carleton is playing. Burgers are great as is the sweet chili stir-fry. Great wine list.

Food was fantastic, wine list quite good for a small operation. Outdoor seating in the shade was very comfortable, service was outstanding, we were made to feel special. Prices were very reasonable, couldn't ask for more. Best meal I've had this year.

Hospitality was sincere and enthusiastic. Outdoor seating area was clever with fire pit and entertainment. Meal was well prepared, scrumptious sauce on the filets and delicious sides. Dinner rolls were spectacular and unfortunately there was no room for a tempting dessert menu.

If fancy tables, expensive place settings are what you are looking for-- don't go. If great food, refreshingly friendly without pretension service-- go

The food here is excellent both dinner and breakfast. The prime filet was melt in your mouth. The staff, however, need customer service training. One was the owner! The steak came out undercooked and the waitress argued that it was ordered that way. Upon checking with the chef, he read the order wrong. When we mentioned to the owner that we waited a full hour to get our food, her comment was, "there were other people ahead of you". Yes, but they should be able to handle three tables! No apology. What happened to the customer is always right??? Go for the food if you have lots of time.

The dining room inside looked very old school but the food was amazing. Outdoor seating on the patio is just lovely for a summer evening and includes huge heaters to ensure you are warm enough. I found the owner to be very wine-knowledgeable and he gave me a great recommendation. The Panko shrimp were fabulous and I had a huge salad with fresh (from their garden) vegetables and a generous portion of ahi tuna, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Dessert was the Tuxedo Bombe and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Very happy with the service and food. I would highly recommend.

This place was a find. Hidden unexpectedly inside a motel, the restaurant sported a bar and small dining area. The wait staff was attentive and the food was good. One of us ordered one oft he nightly special- pork chops with sauteed apples- which were outstanding. The other of us ordered off the menu crab cakes served on a mesclun mix, which were typical and unaspiring. Both came with sauteed seasonal veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. Both were good. The bread that accompanying the meal was homemade and yeasty and hot. The margarita I ordered arrived in a BIG glass and was lovely, and just the right amount of sweet and sour. The beer on tap- almost all ales- were varied within that style of beer. It was too bad that there wasn't a darker beer or too. Don't be put off by the outside of the place. Go in and have a fine meal!

We had a wonderful dinner sitting outside with the beautiful Vermont view. We had our 2 year old grandson with us and our waitress, Hayley, was very accomodating and helpful. The food was very delicious. When we return to Vermont next year we will be visiting again.

All in our party enjoyed their meal. Three medallions of beef tenderloin with three different sauces, exceptional! Melted in your mouth. Rounded out with bliss mashed potatoes and summer squash and zucchini. Sirloin steak cooked as guest requested, well done, was delicious. Desserts were outstanding. Hidden gem please don't miss out on this great restaurant!

Nice - newly renovated space. Excellent service and food. Mainly steaks- some seafood - both prepared nicely and very tasty. Generally used to Fairfield County/NY prices, so felt it was a great value. Burgers were also interesting and really excellent.

We'd been hearing about this new restaurant for some time and finally had a chance to give it a try. More than delighted that we did as this is a real find. The food was some of the best in the area, the service was impeccable and we'll definitely be back for more. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, salads were crisp and fresh. Selfishly we're a little glad Nipper's is a little bit off the beaten path as otherwise this place would be jam-packed and you'd never get a table. We'll be spreading the word, but only among those we deem worthy. ; > )

Nippers Cafe / Steakhouse seems to be having an identity crisis. If I had a vote I'd stick with the cafe, or possibly go for bistro. I can start with the good first...the staff was beyond nice, just very sweet Vermont people. As for an impressive experience there are many other restaurants in the area that have their process down better. The menu seems to reflect that at dinner time, steak is added with the other choices that are there all day. Steak, stir fry, burgers, pot stickers and wings all jammed in together, a pretty eclectic menu for a "steakhouse." The hotel did warn us that it was a recent start up and the reviews were not overwhelming great. Due to the warning we stuck with the burgers and some appetizers, figuring I didn't want to commit to a larger priced item and be disappointed, basically wanted to make the best of the experience and give it a fair shot. I think we played it right. The bacon cheddar burgers were very good, although it took close to an hour to get them, then the bacon came out 10 minutes later...weird. The wings had good flavor, but were fatty, and mushy, I'd prefer them crispier and cooked longer. The Switchback Ale was fantastic and overall we had a good time. My concern is in the details, in that little restaurant market they have to get it together, get an identity or I don't think they will be there next visit to Vermont. If you are going to be a steakhouse, commit to it and be the best steakhouse in Manchester. It is a nice cafe and they are very nice people, I wish them well!!!

We don't know our way very well around Manchester and we probably would not have found Nipper's on our own but we saw such fabulous reviews online that we decided to have dinner there. It's a very small restaurant with a warm and friendly atmosphere attached to the Stamford Motel. Our dining experience was one of the best and most memorable that we've ever had! The house salad that we both had was delicious - tasted like it was garden fresh even though we we there in December! We ordered the rack of lamb which the waitress told us was from local farms. It was perfectly cooked and very tender. We split a Tuxedo Bombe for dessert which was a wonderful ending to a perfect dinner. Unfortunately, I don't remember our server's name but she very informative and attentive. We come up to Vermont to ski every winter and this is definitely going to be the restaurant we're going to be going back to whenever we have the opportunity to be in VT!

We only got to Vermint once or twice a year, but always look for a new dinner spot. Nipper's is not elegant, but the food is excellent! And they have one of our favorite wines, Bogle Phantom, that is rarely on restaurant wine lists. They were out of onion soup, so my husband had the roasted tomato and red pepper soup that had a touch of chipotle. Yum! There was just enough to add the characteristic smoky flavor, but no heat. There was also chipotle in the glaze on my salmon - again, subtle. My husband ordered one of the specials, a trio of tournedos - medium rare. His order was delayed a few minutes because one of the three was discovered to be a little over cooked BEFORE it came out of the kitchen and was done over.

It was way overpriced. No atmosphere. Just a bar with a few tables of not good food. 100.00 with the tip for a beer, 2 vodka and cranberrys a steak that was 35,00 and nothing special and a shrimp pasta dish. No coffee. No dessert.

We recently stayed at the Stamford Motel & had dinner at the adjoining restaurant, Nipper's Steakhouse. What a delightful experience. Personal service (Karen was very attentive) , the presentation of each course was superior. I ordered the trio of filets, 3 different sauces, couldn't decide which one I liked best. The filets were so tender, almost melted in my mouth. My husband ordered the salmon, with balsamic honey glaze & was very pleased with his choice as well. The salads were so fresh, many of the vegs were from their own garden. We enjoyed our experience so much that we decided to eat there the next night for a light meal -salads, of course, soup and appetizer. Didn't disappoint the 2nd time. Great job Karen & Adam

Nippers had great reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. Two in our party enjoyed a Caesar Salad starter and my House Salad was a beautiful arrangement of very fresh and tasty greens, tomatoes, thinly sliced cucumber and tiny multi-colored sweet pepper slices. Most things were grown in their garden and the dressing was delicious but the salad was so good that I preferred it basically plain. For entrées one in our party enjoyed the crunchy Guinness Battered Shrimp, two others chose steak dishes of which they approved and I was very pleased with the Horseradish Crusted Salmon since it was an unusual preparation, perfectly cooked and so flavorful. We were all very happy with our dinners and would certainly dine here again.

Found this restaurant on OpenTable and thought the previous reviews made this an attractive restaurant to try. We couldn't be happier with our experience. Everything was fresh with just the right flavors. My companion and I both had the Bourbon BBQ steak. While I thought steak prepared this way might be a bit overwhelming, found it was just right. If you want a high end meal in a low key (but clean, airy and well appointed) environment, this is a great spot. Went on a Monday night, relatively early, so there was not a crowd to contend with. As we were leaving several local cars started pulling in. Definitely a great find!

My wife and I had a delightful dinner at Nipper's Steakhouse last week during our trip to Manchester VT. The first thing you notice is the truly splendid outdoor setting at the foot of nearby mountains. The steak I had was delicious and my wife certainly enjoyed her fish as well. Home baked dinner rolls were a real treat as well. Service was excellent and we enjoyed the entire experience.
