The food choices are sparse and both specials last night were anchored by asparagus. We go there because it is convenient to Roundabout but I wish there was more of a small plate choice. Staff is very nice.

Quiet, spacious, and not crowded on a Friday night. Great food, drinks, service, and quick bite before a show or uninterrupted conversation/meeting.

NIOS is located in the Muse Hotel (A Kimpton property) in the Theatre District. It is a very elegant, small restaurant with a good wine list, and small plates (mostly). I had steak and potatoes, which was a good choice. Given its location, NIOS works well with theatre plans.

Although I had dinner reservations I decided to check in and sit at the bar instead. We were chatting with the bartender and I told him make me something good with bourbon. He mixed me up a “New York State of mind”. Bourbon, butters and egg white and a few other ingredients. Believe me it tasted way better than it sounds
We ordered bison sliders, fish tacos, Brussel sprouts and fries. All high end pub food.
Another off menu drink a Golden something, I can’t remember the name. Bourbon, grapefruit, bitters , honey, lemon and basil.
It was great. If your in the area stop by

Nios provided a good venue for a meet-up of a variety of friends who all happened to be in NYC on the same night. The reserved table was comfortable, and the service team were very helpful and good at suggestions for menu items that were good to share. The food itself was nicely presented. We were happy to find that it was lively, but not so noisy that we couldn't talk. We would return.

I picked this spot for a pre-theater dinner - Wow!!! I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely the restaurant was in terms of atmosphere and how nicely spaced the tables were. Everything here is meant to be shared. We had the pear and blue cheese flatbread, fish tacos, and yuca fries - delicious and prepared to perfection. Service was very good too. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend it.

We enjoyed a light dinner of small plates after a Saturday theater matinee. The food and drinks were great and the service top notch. Our order included an asparagus appetizer special, Moroccan octopus, as well as the surf and turf sliders. The vibe is very relaxed and modern. Definitely worth a visit.

My Mother, girlfriend, and I went to this restaurant since it was right across the street from our hotel during vacation. If it is convenient to get here for dinner or an early drink, then do so! The wine was quite good, the food as well. A bit more expensive (even for NYC) than I believe, but for what we came for, but it was great!

We've been here five or six times. They've reduced the variety and size of foods to reflect bar-style dining instead of traditional meals. All in all very tasty, and good portion sizes. The fish tacos are very filling. The only disappointment was the plantains, which were dry and pretty restless. Otherwise happy to come here again. The tip is added to the bill automatically. Enjoy the friendly staff too. Dress nice, it's part of a hotel.

Fast seating. Friendly waiter. Compact but eclectic menu. Had wild salmon; good. Companion Margherita Flatbread; a little dry. Had cookies and cream dessert. OK, bit overpriced for cookies.

One thing I didn't like: Added 18% gratuity without asking. Don't usually see that in a restaurant, especially for just two people. It was probably in the fine print, but when a restaurant does that I expect the waiter to point that out when he gives me the check, which he didn't. I caught it so no big deal, but annoying.

Miss the old menu. Menu choices more limited and not as appealing. They made an already dark room even darker. It’s a joke to see everyone using the lights on their cell phones to see. Not the same Nios by a long shot.

I have been to NIOS at least a dozen times. It used to be a favorite go-to for pre-theater dinner. The menu has changed and it was just awful. It also is so dark that you cannot read the menu and the chairs are so low you feel your chin is on the table. I will not go back. Dinner for my husband who is a vegan was a green salad and a piece of bread. That after I told the restaurant of his dietary needs. The flat bread was a cracker with scattered pear and arugula. Nasty. Do not go here. Server was great but there was a snarky host at the door, even when I told him I had a reservation he did not ask my name or reference my reservation. I am so disappointed as I had had many lovely meals in the past

Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Recommended the special, a paella, which was very nice but significantly higher priced than the regular menu. Beware of specials...wine was also a lot. But in spite of the cost, we did enjoy our experience.

We were staying at the hotel Muse that's connected to the restaurant. We flew in from Europe and was hoping with the small menu that the quality would be good and the food would be fresh and that wasn't our experience. The restaurant/bar at 9:30pm on a Saturday night was completely empty and for 2 Kale salads and a shared flat bread plus 2 glasses of wine it was $130. A bit expensive for what it was.

Delightful restaurant attached to the Kimpton Muse Hotel. Specializes in small plates - we ordered three to share. The food was very good. This was a pre-theatre dinner - the restaurant is located in the heart of the theatre district. We came back after the show for dessert - very convenient, and very good.

Found this restaurant online based on its close proximity to the theatre. What a GREAT find!!! The bartender made a Harlem Fog, which I highly recommend for the taste & the presentation! The steak was extremely flavorful, as was the burger. Overall I would say this was a wonderful place to hang out and have a delicious bite to eat!

Small and simple menu. We ordered four "small plates." It was more than enough for the two of us. Each plate was prepared well. The lamb was medium rare, just as we ordered. The Sea Bass was perfectly cooked. (There is nothing that irritates us more than a good piece of fish the is overcooked. The service was stellar, from the time we made the reservation, to how we were greeted, and all the way to the knowledgeable and attentive wait staff. The location is perfect for the theater, and the prices are very reasonable.

WE'll be back the next time we visit NYC.

My girlfriend and I had eaten here twice before, but with another couple. This time we were on our own. Walking-in there was a large group of people at the front of the restaurant which created a din that caused us to speak louder than normal even though we were seated against the back wall.

But services was very good. The waiter, perhaps thinking we were on a date, let us share my appetizer (Heirloom tomatoes & watermelon) and my dessert (Trio Mousse Cake). Both were excellent by the way. If your a subscriber to Roundabout Theater and are attending a performance across the street, this is a good place to eat beforehand.

Grabbing bite before theatre. Great deal 3 share plates for $50. We shared excellent shrimp cerviche with plaintains, a small tasty lamb porterhouse, and a fairly large flatbread of cheese, prosciutto and fig that was delicious. Good rose wine. Also shared amousse cake. Only surprise was that we were 2 people and they added gratuity.
