Food and service excellent - will definitely be back
We chose this restaurant because it was close to the theater, but were disappointed. There was only one vegetarian entree option which was a flatbread pizza. The pizza had about three times too much cheese which we had to pick off. The cracker crust was like stale saltines. The salad options looked intriguing, but were not tasty. The beet salad tasted like canned beets and no taste of za'atar. The kale salad was basic hohum. 18% gratuity was added even though there were only 2 of us. Very disappointing since this was our only night in the city and we wasted it here.
We dined here before going to the theatre. We arrived very early 5.30pm so we were the only ones here. The service was delightful and the the food was OK - a bit fatty by my standards for sliders. It was hugely expensive.
I went to dinner here Thursday night @ 6pm with my husband before a Broadway show. He had a Pulsed voucher which entitled us to an appetizer to share, an entrée each, one shared dessert and a bottle of wine. He had the ribeye steak and I had the lobster sliders for our entrees. We shared the empanada appetizer and chocolate mouse for dessert. Everything was delicious. The only thing we thought is that my slider could have been accompanied by something, possibly a side salad. One other comment I would like to make was when I called to make a reservation and tell them I had a Pulsed promotion they said they were booked so I was glad I had made a reservation through Opentable. There were plenty of tables available so I was surprised and felt like they only said that because I had the voucher, SAD!
My wife and I were in the City to take in a show on Saturday, December 15th. I made my reservations online for 6pm, since our show started at 8pm. It was a very simple process. I read reviews and would say it was 75-25 positive to negative. We were seated immediately and were given a choice of where we wanted to sit, which was nice. The waiter came over withing 5 minutes of us being seated and asked if we wanted a drink and made some receommendations based off our unfamiliariity of some of the wine choices. We orded the Empinada's and Brussel Sprouts apertizers which were both very good. My wife ordered the fish special and I ordered the Argentina steak, which we were both very pleased with our entire meal. The waiter was outstanding and provided excellent service all night. We weren't told that gratuity would be included in our bill at 18%. I am a 20% tipper if I have great service, which I did! I left an additional tip when the bill came.
I would go back in a heart beat!
Bruce & Deb from Upstate NY
Excellent food and a quiet atmosphere. Very friendly and courteous staff. The bar is quiet and friendly staff with a good variety of drinks. Nice combination of a hotel restaurant and bar and pre-theatre capability.
Not inexpensive but quality is quality.
Great service and amazing food. Good cocktails as well.
Adjacent to the Hotel Muse, atmosphere is somewhat of a small lounge. Fairly intimate with limited seating. Interesting variety of food options also serve breakfast. Convenient location to Times Square for a cocktail or post or pre- theater conversation.
Loved the ambiance! Service was great and food was excellent!
My friend and I have dined at NIOS several times of the years and have always enjoyed our diners there. The dining room has a limited number of tables, but we never feel crowded. The vibe is upbeat and friendly, and the service is courteous and professional. At first we regretted that the excellent-value $45 prix-fixe menu is a thing of the past and that another prix-fixe menu, even at a higher price, isn't offered. I began with a delicious beet salad that included pistachios, and for my main course had a large and delicious serving of monkfish on a bed of tasty autumnal vegetables. For his appetizer my friend had a "side" of brussell sprouts that he enjoyed, and a trio of bison sliders for his main course. We both had wines by the glass from the very good wine list. My one criticism is that I find it outrageous to charge $15 for a small bowl of brussell sprouts. Otherwise, I found the prices of the main courses to be reasonable. Diners should note that the gratuity is included in the bill which, as a former resident of Paris, I think is a good idea. Our check, which included two glasses of wine apiece, came to $88 per person.
Great spot for quick pre-theater drink and light meal. Good food, drink and nice place to sit!
Good business breakfast but generally empty not a scene
Nios is a pre-theatre favorite for us. We come here often. Great ambiance, really good food, wonderful service. And 100% consistent. Be sure to plan to stop at the restroom to enjoy the six emotions before you go to a sow and beat the lines!
Very good service, food - and value given location
Amazing experience, great chic atmosphere, attentive service, and delicious food and wine. Highly recommend Argentina Ribeye. Looking forward to my next visit.
Excellent food with service to match!!!!!
Like the hotel that is associated with it.
Breakfast also excellent.
Waiters attentive but not intrusive.
Huevos rancheros were made with tortilla chips. Yuk. Not what one expects at breakfast. Cappuccino came with soured separated milk. Servers made it right by but wish food quality matched service. Nice ambiance and good location in midtown. Stick with the basic dishes and it'll be fine.
In the heart of time square it’s extremely hard to find great food and also service, Nios had both! Tucked into a new Kimpton Hotel this is a gem and I will definitely be returning for dinner before I head to a show. I’d hope to see the menu expand at some point but it had really great options and everything was delicious.
Service was fast and friendly. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful in choosing our dishes. We have the special - a Mediterranean bass for two. It was excellent. It was three pounds of fish poached in a very nice sauce. We didn’t think we would finish but we couldn’t stop. It was that good.
By the way the location is perfect for preorder post theater dining. It’s on 46th between 7th and 8th. Our theater was less than a block away. And prices are reasonable.
Limited menu but the bison and lobster sliders and spicy kale caesar salad were super excellent!
In Times Square off the lobby of the hotel and very noisy. If not for that all was very nice
Great food, service and location. Excellent for pre-theater. Limited but hood menu.
Great place, good service, good food. Easy pre-theater place.
Beautiful restaurant and great location. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner before going to a Broadway show. Would highly recommend.
Beautiful setting and delicious food ! Service was courteous and very friendly :)
Good wine and service. However, the flatbread we got tasted like it was made from a microwave. Cheese was plastered on and not enjoyable.
Great pre-approval theater dinner
Sent my sliders back 3 times until they came out without being bloody and raw; seemed excessive just to get medium-well
But the espresso martini was fabulous!
Great food! Enjoyed it!
Interesting menu with good variety..and well prepared and presented. Four of us all enjoyed and shared the flatbread which was terrific.
returned to NIOS for a quick pre theatre bite- very nice drinks and flatbread- quiet time before dinner - very nice atmosphere and staff
Went to the city for my sons birthday. Took him to breakfast in the morning after our hotel stay at the Muse. The food was fantastic and the service friendly and fast! The host was excellent and got us seated quickly. I would return next time we are in NYC.
Friendly wait staff. Brussel sprouts were tasty but greasier than hoped for. Risotto was very over salted. In and out quickly.
what a find on 46th street! great atmosphere and service and the food was delicious - highly recommend and will return
Our waiter was VERY attentive and the food was very good... perfect place to eat before a show
I was very pleased with this dining experience.
Great place to have a quick bite. Staff was engaged. The Manger (bald dude)was very helpful with the menu.
Refreshing to see the chef doing his rounds im the restaurant. Show he cares.
Amazing drinks and good atmosphere over all!!!
Great venue, recommend for an easy dining option with friends
It was quiet for the most part for a bite to eat before a show. We ordered 3 flatbreads and none were very impressive. Dull flavor and small for the price ($20 a piece). I think it’s overpriced for the quality since it’s close to Times Square. If they invest more in what their food tastes like it’ll be a better spot.
