Ninos 46 Ratings and Reviews
Great for pre-theater. Fabulous food and ambiance at very affordable prices. Food is creative and delicious. They handle gluten free options beautifully- nice seasonal specials too. Warm and cozy spot -easy walk to most broadway theaters. Service is excellent and fast - 6:30 reservation was done in plenty of time to stroll to the theater.
We lucked out looking for a dinner spot on a recent trip to NYC. Open table had a reservation at Ninos available. We had an excellent meal in an intimate setting. I highly recommend the spaghetti! I don’t know how they made such a simple dish so outstanding!
Nino's 46 is a hidden gem in the theatre district. The food is delicious and the portions perfectly sized. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. When I asked for additional glaze for my salmon he promptly brought out enough to cover another whole piece of fish! Prices were reasonable. Low noise level and ambience was pleasant.
Will definitely go back!
The food was excellent, the service was not. The waiter refused to split the checks as we asked, he was not very friendly, and one of us was given the wrong drink. It was hard to hear and understand the waiter as well. It was convenient, right across the street from our hotel but once was enough for this restaurant.
Was in NYC from out-of-Country and found Nino 46 on a list of places with gluten-free options. Made a reservation (using aopenTable app) 35 minutes before dinner time on a Friday Night before a show. No problem!
Dim and lively, it was fantastic. I had the best red wine and fettuccini to date! The staff were wonderful and the location put us a 5 minute walk from the theater.
I will absolutely take anyone there when I return!
This place never disappoints. The charred octopus and drunken lobster fettuccine were to die for. Everything was fresh and well seasoned and the portion size was great. The cocktails were excellent as well. We topped the evening off with the Nutella brownie and we were in heaven. Great authentic comfort food! It was my friend's first time and she vowed to return on her own!
The evening started off very good. Good food, good company and good service. We were there for 1.45 and was getting ready to leave, but two of us still had to finish their last drink. We paid and after we paid, the owner came to our table and said that he was sending the busboys to set up the table. This was so out of character and we felt disrespected because after spending a substantial amount on dinner and drinks, they could have waited at least 10 more minutes to let us finish our drinks. Instead, the busboys were literally going over our shoulders. Just disappointing because I have patronized Nino's on many occasions for lunch and dinner and always left satisfied with everything. Unfortunately, not this time and I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.
Visiting NYC we took a group of 6 here for a double birthday dinner. Everyone loved their food - two of our party literally said it was the best pasta/pizza they had ever eaten. My pizza was terrific. Pre-dinner we had drinks with a super-friendly bartender. Afterwards they brought out two birthday desserts with the candles we had brought in right on time - they even repaired one of the candles that had broken. Everyone was super friendly.
Eating at Ninos was one of the highlights of our trip. HIGHLY recommended.
I recently returned to Ninos as I was going to a play and it is located in a very convenient location. I would probably go back there again for the same reason and their food is OK. To give them credit, the chef does come up with very inventive dishes, however, the types of food comprising them really do notappeal to me but it might to others who are more adventurous.
My main gripe is that the service was abysmal. It was prime time at the restaurant and it was always hard to get anyone's attention. Ultimately the manager waited on us. A related issue is that I was marked as a no-show for my open table reservation. Not surprising since the hostess was MIA.
I used to go visit this restaurant all the time when I lived closer to NYC. This weekend I was in town visiting family with my fiancé and I wanted to take him here for dinner. It was totally different than when I went there two years ago. Super loud and busy, the prices went from $13 a plate to $19 a plate for a serving of pasta, and my husband and I were not impressed with our dishes. I will not be coming back here!
I was very happy to have a gluten free vegetarian Italian food that I enjoyed. It was a safe gluten free option, they seemed to keep things separated well, and I even got GF bread when the rest of the table got bread. My friend said his sandwich was probably the best sandwich he had ever had.
