Ninos 46 Ratings and Reviews
I went to Nino's with two friend. We all shared the crispy burrata for two, a pizza, whole branzino, and a hanger steak. Everything was so amazing we really could not say what was our favorite dish. The creamy kate that came with the steak was the best kale any of us had ever eaten.
It was early so it wasn't crowded but the staff was attentive. it was especially important because my friend is gluten free and there were many options for him. I had the slow braised short rib. I never had it braised in milk but it was an interesting twist and the meat was unbelievably tender.
The food was very salty and also our orders didn't come the way we asked them to. I am gluten free and dairy free so I asked for the Lamb Lasagnette to be made with the gluten free pasta which was available and no cheese. I said no cheese repeatedly but then when the meal came, there was cheese. My dad does not eat pork and asked for no prosciutto with the brussel sprouts and brussel sprouts were still mixed in. The best meal was what my brother ordered - the whole branzino. Also the online menu is not the same as the menu presented in the restaurant. The menu online states that any entree can be prepared gluten free but when I asked, they said no the salmon cannot.
Arrived on Saturday, December 30 with an 8:00 reservation, seated around 8:25 at the table for two next to the basement stairs (ask for another table if you are this unfortunate), we managed but it was cold with draft and constant traffic. We enjoyed the Caesar salad (very good), Mac-cheese balls (ok, little dry), drunken lobster (excellent) and 4 meat pasta special (very good), creme brûlée (good, little burned on top). Service very good. Tables are very close and restaurant loud but we knew going in.....annoyed by the demands of large parties in line for table and who had made reservations and obviously did not do their homework, this is not a good place for large parties and restaurant should limit esp during holidays or busy days. Owner or manager stopped by our table several times to check on our experience. Nice touch.
It was amazing. The food was perfect, the wait staff was very attentive and my water glass was never empty. We arrived about 15 minutes prior to our reservation to get out of the cold and they sat us almost immediately anyway. It was some of the greatest food I’ve ever had and I would recommend it to anyone. It was a little loud but my boyfriend and I could still carry conversation and you could tell everyone was really enjoying themselves because of the bustling atmosphere.
We waited to be seated for a half hour even though we had a reservation and there was no good place to wait (bar was used for dining and it was too narrow to stand with wine) but it was great experience once you sat down. Service was unobtrusive and food was authentic and yummy. There was something for everyone on the menu.
Waited 20 minutes for table with reservations. We ordered the linguini and clams x 2 and the bacon clam pizza. The linguini was very dry and bland, in addition 5 of my clams weren’t opened. I can see leaving clams on the shell for pasta but for pizza it defeats the purpose of baking your toppings into the cheese if you have to remove the clams from their shell.
Had show tickets and despite having a reservation we were seated 30 minutes late. Almost ruined our night. That aside, the food was very good and came out quickly. The only real drawback was that 3 people in our party was lactose intolerance and their menu was very diary heavy (for lack of a better phrase) and most dishes could not be modified to suite our needs.
Food was great. My only complaint was waiting 30 minutes for a table with a reservation that was at 5pm ( with 2 small children). So by the time we sat , we were frustrated. But staff was friendly and attentive and food was very good. Busy holiday season perhaps.
Went for Christmas Eve dinner after seeing the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City. They has a great, cheerful staff and delicious food. It's a pretty casual setting but that's what we were looking for. The bill was very reasonable considering the quality of the food and the area. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area again.
Being raised Italian rule of thumb is you never go to a restaurant and order anything with pasta it can’t compare to your nonna, but Nino’s stunned me with his 4 meat Bolognese the quality and the true Italian taste. With out a doubt best Italian cuisine I’ve had since my Nonna.
