This was our 3rd time eating at Ninja. It’s always fun and definitely a good date night meal or dinner with your kids. It’s pricey but good.
Awful. Terrible, overpriced food. “Ninja presentation” was a joke. All the presentation was was dry ice on a plate. Waiters were unenthusiastic as well. Ambiance was pathetic- music was boring elevator music that brought down the excitement of the room. Saddest excuse for family entertainment. Chose this place because we had 2 kids under 10 years old and thought it would be fun. Even they were unimpressed.
Great restaurant for kids especially. The food is good which you typically don’t expect from a kitschy restaurant that focus’ on presentation. Surprises at every corner. Staff is so nice. Especially to kids. Not a fast experience so savor the wait. Fun time for everyone!
This place is more about Ninja waiters "scaring" you, and less about good food. The lobster miso soup is great, the sushi rolls are more like what you'd get at a grocery store.
Awesome theme restaurant for a birthday! We took my 12 year old son and he loved it. The food was great the waiters were entertaining and service was great! Would highly recommend!
It was an amazing experience! They walked us through anything they planned to do and as a person who had never been there before it made it much more exciting to partake in! The magician that came to our table was great!!! The staff was great and the food was AMAZING!
Definitely worth the trip into the city my kids loved it and so did I definitely going back with a group of adults soon
So much fun! Our 2 boys loved the Ninjas and all their antics. They drank out of light up cups and got to see some magic. Doesn’t get any better!
Ambiance was amazing. Food was great! Love the magician at the end!
I did think it was expensive but for a treat for the family it was appropriate. Looking forward to going again next time we are in New York.
We dined at Ninja New York while visiting the city on vacation. Our table was ready when we arrived (received a text 20 minutes prior to our reservation time). Immediately after checking in, we were ushered into an elevator and through a series of halls. By the time we got to the table, my son (11 years old) said that he would give it 5 stars just for the entrance! He was blown away and we were all having a great time.
This is a great restaurant choice for families with young kids, but we saw plenty of ‘adult only’ tables as well.
Our waiter was fun, and service was good. The food was good and not too pricey given NYC standards.
I was told that the “ninjas” would sing Happy Birthday with whatever dessert we ordered. At the end of the meal we were very full but I made my husband order a dessert since it was his birthday. No singing. It was a little disappointing since we didn’t really even want the dessert.
Un sushi fuori dagli schemi! Veramente geniale l’idea e sopratutto il servizio!!
Everything was perfect, as always. Order the lamb, is awesome! :)
We loved the experience! So much fun. Great for all ages! Highly recommend, something different, loved the presentations, the magic show, the thrills. The food was very good, not gourmet, but very good and my steak and asparagus were cooked perfectly.
First off I called the restaurant ahead of time to tell them we were coming in to celebrate my sons 5th birthday and wrote it in my online res. When we arrived we had two ninjas come out and try to scare us from a wall, that was fun but nothing unexpected really. We were sat In a area with all black vinyl booths and it was bright and kind of gross looking(tape on the booths to patch it up) . We only had two other people dining in that room so it was empty. The tricks and whatever we have seen online was not presented for us. The waiters were really nice but nothing worth paying the high price tag for since we had little entertainment and inedible food. We saw a magician at another table but never came to ours, not sure if it’s something we needed to ask for. He made some rude comment to my 5 year old who was watching from our table that was totally not ok. He was a jerk. For a birthday dinner that we were excited for we were really let down that they sat us in a boring area when they could have put us in one of those rooms that had more people and fun stuff happening. We tried overlooking the food , space etc but it was just overall 👎. Wish they paid more attention to someone coming in to celebrate a special birthday.
We went for a date night - it was awesome. Great food, service, and experience.
This is a very unusual and fun place to visit. The food was great, the ninjas are a lot of fun. We had a great time!
Service was excellent! Food was not good at all.
Service, which is what you’re really paying for, has really gone down in the past couple years. I took my niece a few years ago and it was so much fun, worth every penny. Last weekend I brought my nephew and the service was terrible. “Ninja presentation” was unenthusiastic, we received only one visit to our table from a ninja other than when they came to bring food and drink.
The food was amazing, supper friendly waiters and definitely worth the money!
The good thing about Ninja New York is that it is a unique restaurant unlike others in the city. The place is underground and ninja themed so the staff are all dressed like Ninjas and are funny. My waiter was great. He was always ready to serve my table and told a joke funny joke every time he came to the table. The bad part about Ninja N.Y. is everything else. The food was EXPENSIVE and the portions were SMALL. The food was ok at best as far as taste and I could find better food for cheaper in the city. 42 dollars for a 12 oz steak with no sides doesn’t make sense.
So much fun for all ages! Highly recommend it. My 4 and 8 year old had a blast.
This restaurant was more than I expected! I took my 7 year old grandson and he and I both had an amazing time! The food was delicious and the staff was great! We shared the New York strip steak and it was a real treat!
Everything was amazing! Food was great and so was the service. It was my familys first time there and we had a really good time
Completely underwhelming! Was ready for a show with swords and a bit of a performance and instead got a waiter dressed in ninja gear that yelled. Food was okay could have gotten better in Chinatown. Very expensive spending $200 for 1 adult and 2 kids. Was my son’s bday and all they did was ice cream with s candle which we paid for.
We decided to try this restaurant while on vacation in NYC for something fun and different. The hostess directed us to the elevator to head downstairs and the elevator got stuck and the doors would not open. We were thankfully able to get back up and take the stairs down to the dining area. We were seated in our own “room” like area which was really nice. Our waiter didn’t really communicate with us and sort of left us by ourselves. We had two ninjas successfully scare us but there were no magic tricks and no presentation as advertised. The food is overpriced and not great. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant and will not go back. Save your money.
Kids loved it, so i give 2 stars. The waiter dressed as ninjya, and they do scare customers well, with fire magic etc. Kids most loved the magician at the end. So it worth it. ONLY if the food was better I can see myself going back for special occasions, but unfortunately food was bad. Kids menu was "berger, nuggets, frieds and mac and cheese" set. I wanted sushi rolls sets for kids... not american food at Japanese restaurant. they were all SO salty. I think it was $28 per kid for the set. For grown ups, it's a torture :( First of all it's basement, seats are tiny, and it just was not clean. Everything looked dusty and beaten up.. there are wired flowers on the wall from 99c store..Oh what's worse is that cocktail is $38 a glass. Yes, not $3.80, it's $38!!!!! So you can't even pass the time by drinking. It was really painful experience for adults who want to eat actual real Japanese food.
Very good food and service! Would definitely come back
Fun night out in a unique and fantastic setting! Really good drinks and the food is also really good too! All round just a good unique and fun dining experience, ideal for groups and good value for money.
We went as a special night in New York with our 11 year old. Our server was amazing, and we had a blast. The food is good, and but expensive but worth it if you’re looking for a cool experience with your kids.
My 12yr old and fiancé loved it! Such a cool atmosphere and the food was delicious!
Fun night out with kids and friends ❤️
The food was decent and the quality of a normal hibachi restaurant but you get much more of a show you get more of a show if you just go to normal hibachi. We had a few people scream at us to entice jump scares but I don’t think ninjas are supposed to be scary just sneaky.
There was Halloween decorations in the tunnel going over and I felt that was so out of place. I just don’t think the decor was very well done either. It’s too bad if there was mire care taken for the ambiance it would be a lot better.
$200 for a date, will not be going again. If you want Japanese food go get ramen in midtown or get Korean BBQ at Ktown.
Went here to celebrate a special occasion. Reminded them of that when they called to confirm.
They did nothing about that once there.
Ambiance is unique but SO dirty! I had to refrain from leaving because it was my guests request to go to this place so I didn’t want to rain on her parade.
One ninja tried to scare us and that’s it! (Aside from the two in the the dark hallway as we came down the stairs- everyone gets these two scares).
Food was a disappointment, and I wasn’t even expecting much to begin with. Even my guest only ate 1/3 if her meal.
It truly is surviving off of tourists and those who like to overpay for a gimmicky place to eat.
The best thing about it was the over the top florals in the washroom- I’m sure they were dirty as hell but it was quite beautiful to be surrounded by them. Oh, and the toilet that sprays water on your butt and dries you. That was fun. Seriously it was!
This was part of our NYC vacation- pricey but kids loved it!
Best food I’ve had in a long time!! And the presentations were great!!
The waiters were exceptional and entertaining, they made my night very enjoyable. My dish didn't have the wow taste I was expecting but still delicious and food tricks were fun. The adult beverages are generous in alcohol. Over all loved the experience.
Food was horrible; best part was dessert. Overpriced. Waiter rushed us thru dinner and we were out of there in less than an hour
