The restaurant came recommended by a friend and I didn't know what to expect, however, I'm so glad she did.
The food was AMAZING and the service was impeccable. Our server Gabby was so sweet and helpful with the menu. We never had to wait long for cocktail refills!
We can't wait to get back!
The restaurant was really nice looking, had a lot of potential. The drive in was different from most places, it made it feel very special and when you arrive, you are greeted by valet and a beautiful courtyard. Very pretty. Entering the dining room felt upscale, modern, sleek and hip. While the front desk ladies were very friendly, I felt that they were dressed too causally.
The wait staff was a little too attentive. We were constantly asked how everything was. Your servers should make you feel cared for without overdoing it. The main course was delectable but I can’t say the same for the app or the dessert.
The restaurant was extremely noisy. There was a table of 4 couples and they were extremely loud.
I would go back with girlfriends but not for a romantic night out.
I always enjoy going to Ninety Acres because it has the whole package - really good food, outstanding service, great atmosphere. I call that smoked potato soup "divine," and my lunch partners really enjoyed the avocado toast - even if a bit salty. So glad they are open for lunch!
As expected, great meal and service. Always reliable and best in the area!
I was visiting my sister in Far Hills and was looking for a lovely place to go with my husband for dinner. She recommended Ninety Acres. I had been there before, but this was a first for my husband. My husband is a great cook and loves to dine! He was quite impressed with the beauty and ambiance of Ninety Acres as well as the buzz inside. We went on a rainy evening in the middle of the week, so we were not expecting a full house! He was not disappointed! We look forward to another special dinner at this most beautiful place!
Outstanding in every way. Waitress was exceptional!
Excellent warm and inviting experience. A perfect evening for a special occasion
As always, 90 Acres was an excellent meal with terrific service. We love watching the chefs work. The staff seem genuinely pleased to be working there. Our servers and the sommalier were all helpful and funny. We learned a new way to cook asparagus (freeze for 48 minutes). We laughed at getting valet parking tag for our leftovers.
Great dinner for four, out for a special occasion.
Ninety Acres is a beautiful place! Drive up slowly and take in the view. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. Our party chose the prix fixed menu and selected the egg, cheese board (Purple Haze cheese where have you been all my life?) wagyu steak, red snapper, burger and lamb chops. Service staff was extremely attentive and professional. Desserts were delicious too: butter cake, cookies and malted milk with house made ice cream. A perfect meal from start to finish.
Everything was great about our dinner - the most delicious food, meticulously prepared, as well as superior service. It made my birthday celebration feel very special, especially the birthday card at the end containing the wine label from the delicious wine we had with dinner. We've been many times and have never been disappointed.
My wife and I went for our anniversary. Been waiting to go for quite a while and it did not disappoint. Great ambiance and the food was outstanding. Loved it!!!
Honestly, I was not that impressed. I thought the food was just ok I didn't find anything
exceptional. The atmosphere was wonderful and very nice cocktails. I wouldn't go out of my
way to return.
Wonderful dinner at Ninety Acres. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. The risotto was outstanding.
Averall disappointing in terms of the food. The foie gras appetizer was good besides that the strawberries were not the best, however, the second and third course were very disappointing. The pork belly was overcooked, dry, chewy, and tested like it has been kept on top of the stove for days. I make a better one, and I am not a chef. The chef should go to Heirloom Kitchen in Old Bridge to taste what fine dining pork belly shoud teste like. The third couse was suckling pig and it had no flavor at all. Send your chef to Nicholas in Red Bank to learn how to do it.Considering that with desert this ended up being $130/person, I would say totally not worth the money. Service was below avage for the price. The nice park seting is the only thing, I would say, that matches the price.
Yum! Great, interesting food in a beautiful setting. Excellent service, nice ambiance. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Give it a try!
Great. Food and experience
Went for my wife’s birthday and can’t complain about anything. Service was outstanding and food was too!
Perfect for special occasions or if you want to feel pampered! Superb service and extremely creative menu. Expensive but consider it more an experience than just dinner. Beautiful patio to sit before or after dinner (fire-pit) and relax.
Good food, great staff, extensive wine list. Never rush you.
Not a great experience here and I would hesitate to go back for anything other than drinks and a couple of small plates on the patio. As soon as we arrived, we were rushed and not able to enjoy a cocktail on the patio prior to dinner on one of the first beautiful days of the year even though the restaurant was not even close to full and would never become full. Then, our first and second courses arrived at the same exact time. My question of why they both came at the same time was ignored. So, either the server entered the order incorrectly or the kitchen rushed the plates. Either reason is unacceptable especially when it's $100+ per person for dinner. The food was for the most part extremely over seasoned. Lentils that came with the scallop and pork belly dish were almost inedible. The steak tartare was covered on what almost tasted like barbecue sauce from a jar (they call it "bitter orange mojo") and had a massive pile of potato strings on top so you couldn't taste the beef. The assorted vegetable platter was uninspiring at best. On the positive side, the octopus dish was fabulous and cooked perfectly and the beet salad was very good too.
Remarkable food, atmosphere, and interactions with everyone. Chef was stellar.
Never disappoints! Lovely atmosphere, outstanding food and service!
The restaurant service and ambience was first class but the food left something to be desired. The "suckling pig" was bland and dry, the pate was blah and poorly textured.
Waitstaff is so professional and attentive but relaxed and warm at the same time.
Overall mediocre food - even if I do not consider the hair that was in my entrée.
Beautiful spot and great service! We enjoyed relaxing on the patio and then dining inside the restaurant. Very elegant place.
This is one of our favorite places to go when celebrating a special occasion. The food is always seasonal, fresh with really unique takes on traditional dishes from the chef, lots of organic choices. The only criticisms we might have is the restaurant can get a little loud, which can cut down on the “romantic” aspects—and the lighting is so dim we have trouble seeing the menu and our food!
The service at Ninety Acres is OUTSTANDING! Every single person from the host to the wait staff are organized, friendly and on top of their game. They make you feel welcome and special. So thank you for that experience. What we thought was not on par with the high prices was the food. Portions are huge, they can be smaller. But overall the taste did not blow us away. When you are paying $100 per person, the food better step up and be a wow. The vegetarian options need to get better. Offer a veggie pasta for instance. The ambience is beautiful, but overall its too expensive. So I dont think I will be coming back. There are better restaurants in NYC that cost less and have more delicious food. Sorry. I would have rated 3 stars if just for food, but extra star is for service.
Food was very good but for the cost I wasn’t overly impressed.
I really enjoyed the ambience, and the waitress was very nice and attentive. I will come back again.
Not So Much
Ninety Acres came highly recommended and when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the menu and the extensive wine list. From then on...not so much.
The main issue at Ninety Acres seems to be a lack of communication. We had three staff assigned to us so we initially expected that we'd be catered to...not so much.
We were mostly ignored save for an occasional "I assume everything's okay". When we asked questions the answers were not helpful. Did we ask many more? Not so much.
The "sommelier" wasn't knowledgeable: we suspect that she was not really a sommelier but rather a server pressed into a wine role. Because we ate the pre-fixe menu we had six different dishes all begging for different wine. We got zero help. We eventually decided to make some decisions ourselves after waiting 30 minutes for the 'sommelier'. We told one of our servers who seemed surprised that we didn't want to wait for the sommelier even though we were on our third course. Sparkling wine was provided but we assumed it was gratis given the mix-up in communication...not so much.
We got our fifth course--a rib-eye--before our sixth course--a suckling pig. The pig was almost tasteless at that point although we are sure it was well prepared. Did they get the ordering of the courses correct? Not so much.
We ate the rib-eye without red wine. The 'sommelier' then said that she didn't realize we wanted the red with the red meat! We tried to give her the benefit of the doubt throughout the meal but at that point...not so much.
We were hoping for a nice farm-to-table meal. We got...not so much.
The only thing was was too much was the price: $287 for lousy service. (And that was because we found a drinkable wine for $25...no thanks to the 'sommelier'.)
Would we recommend Ninety Acres...
you know the answer at this point.
I had the fish and chips. The fish was fall apart tender so a bit hard to pick up.
The chips were regular ole fries. I thought perhaps a home made version would have been more appropriate since I was paying $25 for the dish. Also, a slaw of some kind would have been nice with it.
We had a 7:30pm reservation for four to celebrate three birthdays. We were promptly seated, and our wait staff team came by about ten minutes later. Water and bread arrived, and the wait staff came back 15 minutes later. Ordered martinis, and they were room temp. We ordered the prix fixe, which was 3 dishes for $75. Sadly the portions were meager. For example, the scallops and pork belly consisted of two small scallops and a tiny cut of pork belly. To top it off, it arrived cold. The entree I ordered was the rack of lamb. This was 2 single chops, and a bit of the other parts of the dish. The best line was when we asked where the rest of the rack was, we were told that "everyone knows that the prix fixe portions are smaller." They were nice enough to bring out 2 more chops. Finally, the entrees were not served till after 10:00pm. The excuse we were offered was that the kitchen was very busy. That was the delay. So, it was the consensus at the table that we will not likely make a special trip to ninety acres to celebrate any events.
We have made this an annual birthday treat with friends and each year the experience improves.
Not sure what happened to this restaurant. Was there 1 year ago and both the food and service were excellent. This visit was the complete opposite. My wife and I both sent back our appetizers (salads) because they were inedible. My wife's scallops were excellent but the sides were mediocre. My steak was just ok....nothing special and certainly not worth the price. The service was totally inattentive. On our way out we shared our experience with Jose Prado (restaurant manager). He was very apologetic and nice enough to make a generous adjustment to the check. That was appreciated but by then the damage was already done.
Beautiful place! Top notch service and excellent food. Must go! We will be back!
We used to love it here but for the second time in a row I ordered three dishes that did not equal $75 like the price fixed menu... I was charged $75 anyway not coming back
What a great find! An amazing place to celebrate with my family. The food was spectacular and they accommodated my every allergy. The décor was spot on and even the lighting perfect- as well as the outstanding service from start to finish. Definitely making this our new go-to place!
“Underwhelming!” Food should be stellar but was not. The last couple of times I’ve dined here I’ve felt the same. Pretty place, we had excellent service but the meal....especially considering the price, really isn’t all that great.
