Good restaurant but overpriced for sure. Also front desk could have been more pleasant-Found them having a bit of attitude! The back patio fire pit and lights were not working dampening the experience But overall- good place for a special occasion.

What can I say-- we love this restaurant. We come several times a year and have never been disappointed. We like it best in the summer months when you can enjoy a cocktail on the lovely patio before dinner. The service and food is always spot on. It's nice to be able to get a simple pizza at the bar or go all out and do the Bring Me Food experience. I just wish it was easier to get a reservation on short notice!

If you have never been there, Ninety Acres is a spectacular setting. A long drive through Natirar park (which is beautiful) takes you to this mansion on a hill that is the restaurant. There is great outdoor seating around a fire pit, nice bar seating and a formal dining room. I marked it a little down on food because my wife and I (both had 3 course tasting menu) were really disappointed at the beef rib - it was surprisingly tasteless. THe food is normally quite good, but the ambience and service is outstanding

We had been looking forward to this meal for a long time. Multiple friends and family had told us that they had exceptional meals here and it was a can't miss in New Jersey. We went for my wife's birthday and looking at the menu beforehand, could not wait. The setting is lovely and definitely not to miss - a massive park, a beautiful victorian era home, and a subdued atmosphere. The drinks were exceptional, and the food from the snacks side of the were quite good. However, we were severely underwhelmed by the main menu, all three courses we had and all six different dishes. The hype was NOT worth it. While the ingredients were fresh, and the food was edible, we did not feel like we got what we paid for, and the great start to the meal was let down by the rest. Nothing popped; nothing had us wanting more bites; nothing made our Top 10, much less our Top 5, which for the price, you would hope something would. We didn't even bother with dessert, even during a birthday dinner, because we didn't want to spend additional money on a mouthwatering description that fell flat on the palate. Would I go back? I would go back for drinks, for the atmosphere, and maybe some items from the snack menu. Would I go back for more of the main menu? Maybe, if someone else is paying. Additionally, the sommelier was quite knowledgeable but did not have a sense of humor; overall the wine list is extensive and sometimes astronomical, but if you are looking for a reasonable bottle, it's there. And while the hostess and our waiter knew it was my wife's brithday dinner, his assistant kept wishing us a happy anniversary - a common error, considering others were there celebrating anniversaires; but for the money, you'd think detail orientation would be a primary goal.

Was a very exciting experience. The restaurant was beautiful as well as the grounds. We were, however, early by 20mins before restaurant opened which we were unaware of. We were told to sit outside in their garden until bar was open. I found this a little unexpected for such a prestigious restaurant. If your guests happen to be a little early they should still be catered to, no? However, we thought perhaps 5 more minutes, but no they were to the time exactly...20min wait. We then were unable to order drinks outside from one of their many staff but had to go inside to the bar...this was the only thing I found slightly disappointing about my experience here.

Overall, our experience was excellent, with truly amazing food at a reasonable cost for the quality and creativity. Also appreciated was the ability to order either as a tasting menu (3 courses, all "appetizer" sized, but fairly generous appetizer sized) or a la carte. The sommelier was knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant to deal with, although I was surprised at his wearing jeans (but with a jacket) at a restaurant of this quality. Also, as the restaurant got more filled, the noise level was louder than desired.

The location is truly beautiful and the ambiance is not stuffy as most restaurants of this level often are. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The blend of flavors and the care for how the dishes are executed resulted in a truly wonderful meal. We traveled quite a distance and it was well worth the effort. We hope to return for another special occasion.

I have always enjoyed the food, service and ambience of Ninety Acres Restaurant. Usually a special occasion restaurant for the family because it never disappoints. Our last dinner was on a Sunday night and I'm not sure it was a "burned out" weekend. The service was terrible. Constantly having to search for a waiter or someone to help us. The food was good but not up to the general standards that we are used to experiencing. This bad experience will not prevent me from returning to your wonderful restaurant

Wednesday night dinner date at 8pm in mid August. Ate the 3 course prix-fix menu ($75 each) and skipped dessert. with $60 wine and a drink / tip, it was $300. I love the room and the ambiance- its a beautiful place. The summer ingredients are always special and handled with delicacy to bring out thier flavors. The service staff is young and not very confident but were friendly and competent. They did not make the meal better, but neither did they detract. The drink service outside was slow but the patio is relaxing so it didnt matter too much. My recurring lament about 90 Acres is the value statement isnt very good. Of the 6 dishes we tried, 2 were great (halibut and strip), 3 were good and 1 was confused (scallop and pork belly). The ingredients are simple and portions are small but you cant escape for less than $150 head; which makes it a rare treat. Also, I hate the valet parking requirement as there is always a line to get your car when it would be easier to walk to it. I would like the choice.

We picked this restaurant because of its quality of food, ambiance, and location amidst beautiful outdoors. Our dinner was comprised of duck that was according to my spouse; the best she has ever tasted and my fish was cooked to perfection. The servers address your every need without being over-bearing. All and all if you enjoy well prepared, fresh, and superb food, don't miss 90 Acres.

My date and I decided to finally try this Resturant after sampling them at the NJ Food and Wine fest. The ambience and layout was really nice along with the location. The staff were very friendly from valet to management. The table we were waiting on to fill our reservation were taking a long time to wrap up. We had some cocktails while we were waiting which were great. That's fine, we weren't in any rush but the manager came over and explained what was going along as well as some options he could make work for us. All great so far. Once we placed our orders (pre-fix) and our meals came out we were underwhelmed one after the other. Six total dishes came out and everything was bland, no spark of creativity, and even parts of the meal not being warm at the very least. For the price that is paid and the level of experience they portray, we were extremely let down. I usually try a place twice before giving an opinion but cannot justify it this time. We didn't say anything to the staff as taste can be subjective and everything else went right. Not sure if we were unlucky or we picked six of the least exciting dishes they offer.

With a top class reputation & strong guidance on dress code I was surprised by the lack of decorum - flip flops, polo shirt & an almost total absence of jackets! Also, food priced above NYC top levels, didn't deliver, scallops overdone, halibut exchanged due to 1st take removed at waiter's insistence, ice cream flavors a bit too subtle. 3 evenings prior , had a 3 course meal in a low key French bistro in NYC was half the price and no over promising. Really impossible to consider a recommendation - seem to be trading on geographic position too much. Mixing pizza with $41 Halibut seemed to be trying to grab every segment of the market.

One 'AreYouKiddingMe?!' moment in a dining experience is extremely bad - tonight there were SEVEN: [1.] A glass of wine and a beer at the bar was $30 with tip - ok, expensive place, got it; [2.] the 'elegant' dining room is as loud as, and in fact looks like, a cafeteria; [3.] do you really want to have to listen to hip-hop music during dinner? [4.] don't expect any foie gras in the foie gras torchon - it is a tasteless liver pate; [5.] the duck was tough and tasteless; [6.] the ‘Imperial Wagyu Top Sirloin’ was basically a tough London Broil; [7.] I ordered the Wagyu steak medium rare - what I got was a few slices my fork couldn't stab, plus an END PIECE - a well-done END PIECE! Seriously? The entire evening cost $287 for 2 people - which is fine if the food and dining experience are comparable to Jockey Hollow or the Ryland Inn - which they absolutely are not. If you care about the quality of the food you are eating and a nice dining experience, you might want to cross Ninety Acres off your list.

We tried the fixed price menu and we loved every course. The best part is that servers take the time in between courses so you can enjoy your wine and conversation. We did not feel rush at all. Servings were the rights proportions so we were able to finish each course and not feel full. Great service and atmosphere. We had a great time.

Im starting to have a love/hate relationship with Ninety Acres. The first two times I came here my husband and I did the Bring Me Food option. First meal was outstanding and one of the best ever. Second time wasn't as good. We decided that the next time we came we would do the regular menu. Did that this past Saturday night. Tried the bucatini and cavatelli "firsts". Wasnt impressed. Not much flavor in the bucatini and the cavatelli was heavy and tasted more like something I would have whipped up after watching Pioneer Woman. Husband had the Wagyu steak dish, said it didnt have much flavor but was enjoyable. I had the scallops with pork belly and while the scallops were perfectly cooked, the pork belly was literally two pieces of mostly mushy fat. Dessert was very good - opted for the Sweet and Salty Sundae and the coconut zeppoles. Zeppoles were a bad description for these, honestly they tasted exactly like donut holes. Sundae was delicious but would have been even better if the fudge and caramel on it were warm. Also wasnt a fan of the cocktails. When we went the first two times, LOVED the season cocktail menu they had, the cocktails were out of this world. So yes, I will be back I am sure, but will not have my expectations set so high.

I've dined at Ninety Acres several times and the menu selection is always interesting and tasty. The wines list is excellent and the service superb, except for my last meal. All the servers were polite and well intended but one of the young ladies serving us had no idea what she was talking about when asked about wines (if you don't know, don't try to fake it) nor was she able to poor a single glass without dripping all over the table. We also had a mix up on one off the orders she took, which others on the wait staff quickly fixed when brought to their attention. Surprisingly, at no point did anyone in charge stop by to ask about our dining experience either. It felt like amateur night. Given the reputation and expense I expected better. That said, I'll go back because I've had several other excellent dining experiences, but hope this doesn't happen again.

We arrived at 6pm for a Tuesday evening dinner. We asked to be seated outside. The view was beautiful and the patio slowly filled up all tables. Our cocktails were tasty, as were our appetizers. We shared a special salad and an octopus dish. We split a pasta entree of cavatelli with cream sauce and peas with smoked bacon. Main dishes of wagyu beef and loin of boar were great. Desert share of cappuccino creme brûlée and chocolate peanut butter brownie. We took some pictures with the forest and farm as our backdrop. We had a fantastic dinner, topped by finding our 3 children had secretly contacted the restaurant and paid our check. 25 years married, 3 great children!
