A little on the pricey side, but good for a special occasion as the service and ambiance are top notch.
We got there 5 mins earlier than my reservation but got seated right away, next to a window looking into the kitchen (pretty cool!). We proceeded to order, you're looking to spend around 100$ for two people, so I think this is a place for special occasions only.
Always a 5/5 for me
The waitress was horrible!!!! Was obviously annoyed with us multiple times for no good reason. Didn’t come to get our orders, collect dirty plates or bring the bill. We had to ask everytime. I love the food here, but will rethink the visit next time.
We brought friends to XIX who were visiting from Vancouver, who had never been to the restaurant before. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the food - they commented on how lucky we were to have such a great restaurant 'in the hood!'
Great service and amazing food quality & presentation!
Tuna twists are a must have!
Great experience and exceptional food. Always enjoy
Everything was fantastic except the starter bread. Tasted like Dempsters Whole Wheat Bread... Not even warmed up. In my humble opinion that is a bad way to start off a meal but again, everything else was fantastic. Except the linen...it was rough. So everything was fantastic except the starter bread and the linen. Well, our candle kept blowing out. So, everything was fantastic except the whole wheat starter bread, the rough linen, and the candle that kept blowing out. Oh, and the distracting smudge on the class separating the kitchen from the restaurant. Really loved the restaurant except for the non-warmed up Dempsters tasting whole wheat bread, the sand paper like linen, the weak candle flame, and the smudge on the glass that separates the brilliant chefs from the plebeian dinners.
Fantastic food and drink, as always. Definitely some of the best I’ve ever had. Good portion sizes. Phenomenal.
Great atmosphere overall. I enjoyed the food however the service on this occasion could have been better.
Ahi tuna appie is a must as well as the beef tataki.
Salmon entrée and scallop with pork belly were both unique and delicious!
This was our first visit to XIX and I am confident we will visit again. We both enjoyed seafood and it was very good. You do not get a lot of food but certainly enough. Would have preferred a booth but as we were only two people we were seated quite closely to another couple. Overall an enjoyable meal and environment.
1. Never received a call back about wanting to make a reservation (I left a voicemail).
2. We didn’t even make it to our table. The hostess had the menus and was going to seat us. She then, out-of-the-blue, told us no ball caps allowed in the dining room and offered no alternative. If she had given this information up front, it would’ve been much better and more professional. Even, a “My apologies for the misunderstanding, let’s see what I can have my manager do for you.” For example - a gift card for another evening when we are prepared for the specific dress code.
This dinner was for my boyfriend’s Birthday - a very special occasion which is why we made these specific plans. We didn’t even leave the front door, and had to leave and make new plans. Unfortunately, such a disappointment.
A good business will always try to make it right.
Wonderful service, food, and environment! Made for a spectacular valentine’s dinner date. We were incredibly impressed with the food and it’s presentation and taste!
We tried the specials, fish was good but pasta special (with lobster) nothing special. Beef carpaccio appetizer very good, lemon desert nice.
Our first visit to XIX Nineteeen did not disappoint. The food was amazing, the prices are up there, but for special occasions it is worth it!
Amazing food and service
we went here to celebrate my husbands birthday, the meal was fantastic and the atmosphere was great, when we said we were celebrating a birthday the staff added a sparkle to our dessert. Thank you
The food was excellent, the service however was terrible. Our waiter ignored us for an unspecified reason. The only reason we had any service is the other waiter stepped in and filled our water glasses. Another person (I think a manager) cleared out plates. Terrible service!!!
Mike, the server, was friendly and informative, as well as efficient. The food was great, the date night package was a great deal. The appetizers, mushroom soup and steak egg rolls were very delicious.
Always consistent and flavourful food. Waiter was very attentive
Impressed with food and service. We will recommend to both friends and family and return ourselves to enjoy again.
Highly recommend, nicely timed, greatly presented food at the proper temperature. Will be returning shortly!!!
We tried Nineteen for brunch after hearing nice things about it. We both ordered the Bao Eggs Benedict and we split a cinnamon bun. My partner ordered the roasted potatoes (these are made with duck fat so I could not eat them). The cinnamon bun was among the best tasting I have had - even better than Chartier which is saying something. The Bao Eggs Benedict had very stale Bao and the sauce was tasteless. The eggs were very good quality but overall the main dish was flavorless. My partner was looking forward to the confits potatoes but the server forgot to order them. She them put the order in and said they would be 3 minutes. They never came and when we asked for them to be taken off the bill she had forgotten about them. It wasn't busy and it's just kind of lame. I wouldn't go back.
Enjoyed our evening with friends great ambience and service. The food was good a bit pricey!
I took my daughter-in-law and my son to Nineteen to celebrate her birthday. The decor was lovely, the menu varied and interesting and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. All of our meals were delicious, from starters to dessert, and were cooked and seasoned to perfection. I would definitely go to Nineteen again and would highly recommend this restaurant. A wonderful dining experience.
Great presentation. The salad with chicken was superb. And the peanut crusted salmon with a peanut sauce was uniquely “Thai-style”. I will be back for sure with a date I am looking to impress
Server was really knowledgeable about the food and where it came from as well as the wine and regions the grapes were grown. The Manager came to introduce themselves and checked up that everything was going well. Good paced meal. Friendly staff. Great food.
The Chef’s special and appetizer was worth every penny. Wine list a bit on the high side but tolerable. Great to see Molly Docker Australian wine on the menu.
Lovely dining spot
I found this restaurant to be very overpriced. The tuna twists were tasty but there was such a small amount of tuna and so many noodles that you couldn't really taste the tuna. The kale Caesar salad was non descript. The lobster ravioli was delicious but couldn't taste any lobster, for the price of the ravioli, I was expecting at least some small chunks of lobster meat. Overall...average food at an above average price.
Service was the a let down. It pained us to tip 20% on an already expensive brunch. Food was good. Presentation excellent. I wish they paid more attention to details though. For example my egg slid off my bun in the eggs benny. It was served that way anyway. Unlikely to be back. Place has lots of potential but not worth the money in our experience.
Simply fantastic, service, food, ambience... Everything. Just awesome. I am still taste the lamb shanks even after 2 days.
I love this restaurant! Requested a quieter corner table to meet up with friends and was not disappointed! Our server was knowledgeable and fun! Food was fantastic! Drinks were great too! Will be back over and over.
Sunday brunch has a variety of items, food is always excellent.
I ordered the big breakfast. Portions were okay. I would say food was average. The table could use some condiments to compliment the food I.e butter or jam for baguette etc.
Wonderful restaurant. Great food and atmosphere.
We went to Nineteen X1X for the first time and had a wonderful experience. The food was well presented and tasted great. We tried the chef's special for the night, spring rolls, which were incredible. We also tried the beef short ribs risotto which was among the best we've had. Our server, Jennifer, was pleasant and attentive and we appreciated her enthusiasm and knowledge about the menu. The whole experience was an enjoyable girls' night.
Interior decor reminded me of Earls.
Table water served was room temperature, no ice provided.
2 out of the 3 crab cakes served as appetizer were burnt, and yet were still mushy inside. Maybe a previously frozen item?
Beef ternderloin spring roll appetizer was delicious, good crunch, tasted great.
Lobster ravioli had virtually no lobster flavour, totally lost in the spicy sauce. Shrimp served with this dish were good, a better match for the sauce.
Vegetarian option Gnocchi had a good overall flavour, but we're again quite mushy, perhaps a previously frozen item as well.
The room was quiet enough for conversation, and the staff were good enough to leave us to our date without many interruptions.
Overall though, not good enough for the price.
