everything was very good, but the service was not 5 stars. they took our plate w/ food still on it. had to ask for a lot of things. not a lot of attention, which is ok, but they do need to pay a little more and ask if everything is ok and if you need anything. service was the biggest part that was lacking. again..not awful but thought I should bring it to your attention.
this was NYE dinner.
thanks
We had a 245 reservation for thanksgiving and by 310 the omlet bar was closed as was the carved station. Disappointing!
We voiced our concern asking why they took a 245 reservation and the manager said his staff closed early and he ultimately comped our dinner.
Totally understaffed and mediocre food for a special brunch that cost $50. Was not even offered alcohol to toast Easter, and had to track down help to clear plates or even receive check.
Amazing meal and service. A++ for presentation and the filet mignon could be cut with a butter knife. We so enjoyed the evening and the conversations with the staff and management. Very personal experience. We were told the restaurant, normally, has been closed but they decided to do Valentine's day. With that they will be doing an Easter Brunch and a Saturday night before Mother's Day wine evening. We were told that regular evening dining would not be available until possibly the fall. So if you have a chance and can make one of the special events happen you will not be disappointed at all.
Exceeded expectations. Every person in our party ordered the lamb. It was some of the best I have ever had. The appetizers and dessert were exceptional. I give Nine18 my highest recommendations. Thank you.
Food and service have not been bad, but I expected an other gourmet standard. If you are used to european gourmet restaurants, you will be disappointed. According to advertising the wine list should have 500 bottles. Actually the about 40-50 wines fit on one page. Having 10 of each in cellar, "500 Wines" is not wrong ;-) Service is nice, but do not expect a great experience...
Very dated,, cold ambience, slow service, needs more entushiastic people food is good.
Sept is Magical Dining month and the we were excited to kick off our dining escapades at Nine18 (see earlier review). 90 Orlando area restaurants participated this year. To close out the event we chose to return to Nine18 to recapture the pleasure we experienced during our previous visit. We were NOT disappointed!! Same heartfelt welcome (the staff from the front step to the dining room remembered us), impeccable service and beautifully prepared courses awaited and we were so happy with our decision to return!! We had a later reservation and were entertained by the fireworks from nearby Epcot which we could see frim our table. A perfect ending!
Never knew this restaurant was open to the public. I always assumed it was for the golf club or villa residents. Food was very, very good, service impeccable. The view from to the golf course was wonderful. Bar area looked like a great place to meet for happy hour. Alas, found out that no happy hour is offered. We will definitely keep this restaurant in mind for future occasions.
We went for the 'magical dining' n I was attracted by the name NINE 18 not knowing that it is a restaurant next to a golf course! Anyway, I was
S a bit disappointed on my fish which was very chunky so it might be tricky to have it well cooked n yet not over-cooked! Otherwise, everything else was fine!
Lovely hidden gem of a restaurant. My husband and I didn't know it was there until it appeared on the annual magical dining list. Excellent food and service. Lovely view of the golf course. My only complaint would be when offering a taste of a wine before purchasing a glass or bottle, they were very stingy, there was maybe 2 teaspoons in my glass. For $18 a glass and up you can give a better sample. Other than that, we were quite pleased and expect to go back again.
Was an awesome experience.
The steak was to die for.
We chose Nine18 as our first restaurant during Magical Dining month. We were not sure what to expect but we had reviewed their MD menu online and were excited to try the braised pork cheeks appetizer...honestly!! THAT's why we went! We are foodies who love to cook and love to try what we CAN'T cook!
The restaurant overlooks the 9th and 18th greens at the Villas at Grand Cypress golf course. It is a beautiful and relaxing overlook in a formal contemporary dining setting The staff was welcoming, professional and attentive. Our 3 vourses were beautifully presented, generous portions and delicious!! Each course offered a wine by the glass pairing and great prices. We were very happy with all aspects of our dinner and dining experience there.
The experience was a great one. We were instantly greeted and sat. The staff was very pleasant but seemed a bit unorganized at times. For example, we just placed our order and the waiter hurried off, then another waiter came and asked for our orders. When we first sat down a member of the staff took our drink order and then later on we had to repeat what we ordered to our actual waiter after we got our drinks. Very lovely night but seemed a bit unorganized.
Fantastic! Going back again. Really enjoy the steak and berry desert.
Portions could be bigger. Service was great. Hostess and manager I think we're not quiet ready for anyone. But the place , service and palette of food was great.
went for the Magical Dining menu. Even though I had the choice and viewed the menu beforehand, was extremely disappointed in the taste. I am not a picky eater, but the only thing I liked was dessert. Restaurant opened at 6:00 and we were among the first to be seated. 4 other tables of 4 were seated shortly after us. In spite of having 4 wait staff buzzing around us, for some reason we were the last to be served our meals. Other tables around us all received their food, and we waited at least an additional 15 minutes. I would not return nor recommend Nine18 to anyone.
Food when received was not hot more like room temperature, the pork loin was very fatty.
We didn't realize this restaurant was not located in the hotel. The ambiance is really bad, like a movie from the 80s. It needs some sprucing up in color and decor with just beautiful views it lacks personality.
Great experience and great food.
Food was excellent , good service , great views
Delicious. So private and beautiful place, at the same time you fell comfortable.
everything is perfect!!!
Average food and poor preparation
This is a lovely restaurant with a charming view over the golf course. The food is lovely and portions are substantial. Service is very attentive.
Don't go to it. This restaurant lacks so much. There was only one other table besides ours to service at 7:15 p.m. Waiters disappeared and seldom came out to check on patrons (this is nothing new). Over priced food for quality. Definitely off our list.
Justcthe two of us for an early 6:30 dinner, started getting busy at 8:30
Chef makes great combinations
We had salads and several items on appetizer menu for dinner
Desserts excellant
Very fine food
The brunch could be better, the food was cold and not too many options
Great food, great service. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by how outstanding the food was - we were expecting good but not great and the food was great. We ended up eating here two nights in a row and that is something we do not do as we like to hit up different local places. I can't recommend this place more highly.
I wish there were more fine dining restaurants like this left in the States. The food and service were spectacular and consistent with past visits. We were celebrating my birthday that night and their surprise amazing desert meant an extra couple of miles walk the next day! It was the best and worth every calorie.
Everything about this restaurant is stellar. The service is exceptional. The chef is exquisite and very creative. I recommend the Pork Belly, Mushroom crepes, Butternut Squash Lobster Bisque, and venison. All of them are delicious! The only item on the menu that I would not recommend is the crab cake. It was fishy tasting. But they gladly returned it to the kitchen and removed it from the check. The Almond tart was scrumptious. You cannot have a bad meal at this restaurant.
The staff went above and beyond from start to finish. We had a food allergy and the staff was not only well vetted went to extra measures to ensure that the issue was not only covered that they did not feel excluded from any part of the dinner due to the restrictions. Hospitality was amazing and nor a moment where did not feel special. Great night spot to see the Epcot fireworks while eating some great food and AMAZING service.
Food is lousy and place is old news to change the carpetbag will never go back
Just moved to fla and decided to try this restaurant for Christmas Eve. We entered the dining room only to find no Christmas decor other than one piece of garland around a service window. Asked the server to light the candle on our table only to find out they were chintzy battery operated candles. Our batteries were almost dead so our candle barely glowed. Our server made no attempt to replace our candle even though only a couple other tables were occupied. My husband switched candles with another table. It took quite long for our server to return to take our order. Every time we asked a question the server said "what"? Not sure if he had a hearing problem. Those who ordered beef liked it. The chicken was quite dry and my husband was only given two very small slices of duck. With all of the other fine dining venues in the area, I would definitely say that there are better choices for the money. No atmosphere, unfriendly service, small portions.
everything was ok, the food the ambience the drinks the service , the place , I would recommend to all my friends and companies thanks for arranging the dinner in your restaurant
Food small portions- could be much larger. Having said that, it is a great restaurant- and what we had wasa great. It was our 50th anniversary and they made a beautiful dessert for us- handsomely presented. Grand Cyprus where this is located did NOTHING for us for our 50th and I was very disappointed. At least the restaurant was lovely. But more food.
My wife and I always dine here when we are in Orlando. Great service and terrific food. The menu is limited but everything on it is fantastic. Take the time to go here and you'll aways come back
Only one other table dining at 800 on Thursday. Excellent waiter. Decided on having multiple appetizers instead of full entrees. The food was excellent. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by an anniversary dessert plate complementary !
We stumbled onto this place and met there for a work team dinner. All of us were from out of town and felt lucky to find this hidden gem of a restaurant.
Best ever in Orlando area, Great menu, well prepared, outstanding chef, great service , no negatives. We celebrated two anniversaries
