Nine One Five Ratings and Reviews
Ate here for Valentine's Day. Service was slow, which I would normally expect for a Valentine's dinner. However, this being high season in Key West, busy is the norm. Our server wasn't the best, but far from the worst we've experienced. The food was, for the most part, very good. I had black grouper over squid ink pasta in a tomato cream sauce. While the grouper tasted plain, the pasta and sauce was amazing.
Very nice and busy restaurant. Apps very good. Bar busy busy and long wait for drinks.
Lobster ravioli was excellent. Wild salmon tartare came frozen and no flavour. It was sent back and we didn’t have to pay. Server was very apologetic. We left her a very nice tip.
Nice place just a bad one time experience.
I trued the Soul Mama Seafood Soup amdbit was excellent- a Thai curry coconut based soup. I paired woth Sancerre. It was wonderful. I sat at the bat and Frania, my bartender was excellent. As a solo traveler, eating dinner at the bar here is so confortable and all the food is wonderful.
Although my dinner was very good, the noise from the street was awful! At times, someone would race their motorcycle engine and we would jump out of our seats! We could hardly hear each other talk and there were just four of us sitting at a table. The next time I come, if there is ever a next time , I will ask to be seated in side.
The beet salad was quite delicious. Tacos were good but on the sweet side. The cocktails were perfect (standard gin/soda and tonics).
Reservations are only available downstairs and the menu is different from upstairs...something they don't tell you until you're there. Many people told us that upstairs is better...if you can get a seat.
We would go back and try upstairs.
The food was really good. We shared the caramelized brussel sprouts, roasted cauliflower, grouper ceviche and Soul Mama Seafood Soup. The ceviche and seafood soup were amazing. Had other ceviche while in Key West and it couldn't compare. The even split the seafood soup for us because even for one person it would have been a lot without the other items we ordered. We sat near the sidewalk outside so the noise/traffic/obnoxious behavior is expected. I'm sure inside would be quieter. Service was the only star deducted. Sat for over 10 mins before anyone acknowledged us and even then the waitress looked startled and then the expression on her face because we do not drink alcohol was clear
We dined at this restaurant twice during our week long vacation on Key West.
Absolutely delicious meal! We ordered many of the sharing plates and found each to have a unique flavor. The attention to detail was impeccable and the service was great. We sat outside on the first visit which was preferable. On the second visit, we sat inside. It was a bit too noisy.
Overall a great restaurant that we will visit again.
This was as fine a meal as we have had in KW over the past decade! The mushroom risotto and barley were perfect for the steak and chicken, respectively, which were cooked with great care and taste. Peter, our server, was the best in KW as he has been for many years.
