Nine on Nine Ratings and Reviews
Came in for dinner and drinks before a show. Had a reservation but spots open at the bar, and the folks had no problem with us sitting at the bar. The bartender, Joseph, was attentive, funny and provided great service. There were two large parties whose orders were in ahead of us, and they gave us a heads up that it might be 30 minutes until our food was ready. We were unconcerned because we had plenty of time. When our food wasn't out 31 minutes from then, a free round of drinks were placed in front of us with a sincere apology. I consider that fantastic service.
The food was very tasty. I had the fish tacos, best I have ever had. My wife had wagyu sliders which she liked. Sweet potatoe side was sweet and delicious, no need for dessert!
I would recommend and would gladly go there again.
We hadn't been there in a while. A group of us went before theater and found ourselves wondering why we hadn't been coming to the restaurant more often. The food was uniformly excellent--foie gras, cauliflower soup, hummus trio, whole fish special, whole chicken, massive lamb ravioli. With that kind of across-the-board excellence, we will be back
Everything we ordered was superb and would highly recommend (food and drinks). The environment allowed us to people watch, enjoy our food, and have great conversation. We also loved the fact that local ingredients were included in dishes and everything was freshly prepared. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Returned after some time. Started with hummus trio - good. Entrees were Lamb lollipops and Branzino. Lamb done exactly as requested (rare) and Branzino was delicious. Be careful with fish about where you separate the head from the body - I got some gill structure (my fault) by cutting too close to the head. Desserts were delicious as well. Good selection of wines by the glass. Like the "small plate" options scattered throughout the menu and the knowledgeable staff who will tell you if you are getting too many "big plate" items. Pre-theater dinner was handled well so that we got to Benedum on time.
I’ve been to Nine on Nine many, many times but the service has never been this bad. Took a half hour to get drinks and they were wrong when they came (and still charged me). The server brought out the appetizer and meal at the same time and constantly telling dinner guests it was her first night and bear with her. Too many excuses.
We waited an hour and a half for our entrees without a word from our server or manager. We were celebrating birthdays and they did not even offer complimentary dessert. They did remove the charge for one our 3 bottles of wine from the check and a small discount. We were not going to the theater but we should have said we were as everyone was cleared from the restaurant by the time we ate.
our reservation was for 5 pm and our food arrived at 7:20.
Our first visit to Nine on Nine... I was not disappointed, but at the same time, not blown away.
I enjoyed the lobster mac n cheese and my husbands lamb raviolli's were the best choice on the menu!
Atmosphere was louder than I expected(crying baby for nearly an hour) and the place was sadly under patronized for prime dinner hours(Friday7-9).
The best part was you will not be disappointed with the quality of food for the price.
All in all, I can see myself going back...but the competition for the dinner dollar is tough...especially in the Theatre District.
At 6:15 one of rhe 3 side that are offered was not available. Our waitress knew we were going to a show, but failed to offer our discount. Our expensive cocktails came half way through our dinner and were terrible. We both ordered Old Fashions, which isn’t too complicated. The lamb was fatty and full of gristle. Very disappointing!
Server was fantastic. Very good about service and food timing and getting us out in time for a show. Risotto was some of the best I've ever had -- creamy, earthy, nutty. Cauliflower soup was beautifully presented and delicious. Lamb ravioli was pretty good. Nice Pinot noir to accompany. Soft live jazz in the background. Hadn't been in years but will definitely put it back in the rotation
I enjoyed my meal there - very creative! I appreciated being able to split entree for no extra charge. The wait time for service was a bit long - but we got to the theatre on time. I haven't been to this restaurant for a few years - I will definitely attend again, pre-theatre event. Lovely to sit by the window.
We had gone to Nine on Nine about 2 yrs ago and it was great. We had symphony tickets and decided to go back and it was a great disappointment. The menu had changed to more of a tapas and we both struggled to find a menu item that we really wanted. I had the fillet tournedos and they were chewy, tough and I actually had to discard a few bites into my napkin. Even the brussel sprouts were covered with an aioli sauce that was too rich and ruined the taste. He had the tuna and did not like it either. We chose the vegan gnocchi as an appetizer and it appeared a gray color and was neither appetizing or tasty. We don't usually order dessert but since we were both still hungry because we did not eat a lot of the entrée, we had the tiramisu like choice and it was only mediocre. Sadly, we will not be returning. Worst meal I have had in a long, long time.
My fiancée wanted to eat here for her birthday. I made a reservation through Open Table. Marcia, from the restaurant, called me the next day confirming the reservation and offered a couple different options for a birthday surprise. Not only did she offer a complimentary candle lit dessert for my fiancée, but since we were unfamiliar with the restaurant, she offered to reserve both a window table and their special occasion "high chair" table so that my fiancée could choose whichever option she liked best. She ultimately decided on the "high chair" table since it was a little more intimate and private. All in all, this was an amazing experience and my fiancée was absolutely thrilled with her birthday dinner at Nine on Nine! And Marcia was so kind and accommodating! Great service, great atmosphere, great food. Highly recommend!
