A comped round of drinks does not make up for slow, inattentive service and insipid food.
Wonderful food and good service. Will definitely be back!
Niles is my go to place for business lunches or a bite before heading to MSG. Great variety of food options no matter your mood. Going as often as I do I appreciate how often they shake up the menu. Very reasonably priced and the service is first rate. I have never had a bad meal here.
Disappointed in the food and wine
2nd time here, service & ambience excellent all that with thoughtful & well prepared food makes this my go to when going to any event @ msg
Great and casual place to eat.
Elegant setting; nice selections on the menu for all types of diners. Food was well presented, delicious, and some out of the ordinary options. Waiter was attentive, professional, well spoken and a very welcome change from the wait staff in many NYC restaurants. His response to "thank you" was "your welcome", not "no problem" as is too often the case. A thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.
Good food, reasonably priced for commuters with time to spare. Great location across from Penn Station. Their small plates are perfect for a quick bite.
We had a great pre-celebratory meal at Niles NYC upon visiting for wedding dress shopping. The ambiance was so cute and chic and we loved the individual flowers that lined the walls. The food was AMAZING and we were even able to add on extra sides to our brunch options. Service was great and waiter was very friendly. Will definitely return if and when we are back in NYC. Would recommend to anyone visiting in this part of town also.
We ate at the bar. It was nice to hear the chatter of people rather than loud music. The place was lovely, service was good, food and drinks were excellent. Definitely would return.
Niles is a great find--a great location, with terrific food! We went for lunch. I had the Lobster Salad Sandwich which was great! My friend had soup and a sandwich, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I will definitely try it for lunch when I am in the neighborhood!
Solid as usual. Delicious food (thin spaghetti with seafood). Could use little more seafood or maybe few clams but yummy! Brought 18 year old son before Rangers game . He had same dish and loved it. $3.50 for fountain coke a bit much.
Great option when going to the Garden.
We were there for NYE dinner before a concert. Service, food, atmosphere were all impeccable. Don’t miss eating & drinking here!
Food was delicious
Went there with 10 people so we ordered almost everything on menu.
Scallops perfectly cooked
Rib eye steak was nicely charred (not burnt like some other places) and still had a medium rare center so your taste buds gets the nice grilled chard yet still juicy inside.
I have to say the Irish burger is a must.
The creme brulee had a nice hard shell on top and a smooth creamy inside. Another must tr
Food and service was great. We had the Ribeye which was too large to eat all of. Great peppercorn sauce. Also had swordfish which was also very good and my wife had the filet one night that was great and the Ahi Tuna another which was also awesome too. Great deserts. Creme Brûlée. Was great as well as the sorbet awesome too. If your seated close to the bar it can get loud but asked to be seated away and it is a very large dining area so the bar is not an issue once you have sat away from it.
I was a little hesitant at first because the photos of the food online are not very good. But it turns out that the food is amazing, and the ambience is great. The service is a bit slow but not from lack of trying. They are very understaffed even though everyone was working very hard, they were still pretty behind.
Always a great dinner and I love how quite and quant this place is.
This was my 3rd or 4th lunch visit and it wasn't up to the usual quality. The normal full lunch menu was not available and service slower than normal. A little disappointing.
Great experience paired with great food and reasonable prices
I have been here 3 times now and service is always off
Met my college roommate for the 4th time in 4 years. The Niles does not disappoint in food or value. They let us sit for 3 hours to catch up and never bother us, unless we need to ask for something. I love this restaurant. It was a real find!!!
A wonderful meal on New Years Eve with very attentive staff
One of the better meals we had in NYC ( most meals have been surprisingly bland)I had the roast chicken and it was quite flavorful and the sweet potosi were a nice accompaniment. My husband had the sea bass and thought the flavors were very nice.
We had a great Christmas dinner
excellent food, service and ambiance - the only place near the Garden that isn't a crowded after-work bar-type of atmosphere (that i can find) - will be my go-to place now for pre or post events at MSG :):):)
A local gem around Penn station where most of the restaurants cater to the tourist trade. Went with a party of nine and sat in a private room, which allowed for an intimate experience.
Amazing food and service! Great prices and location. Highly recommend!!
We had a lovely time. Service was excellent and we enjoyed what we ordered. Super convenient from Madison Sq Garden. We will absolutely return the next time we are here for a Garden event.
Excellent location - near Penn Station and subways. Varied menu, excellent presentation and taste; fair price and portions for Manhattan.
We called to adjust our reservation because of the traffic to get into city, and they accommodated. We were still late but they made arrangements for our party of 6 for 2 tables, given the fact they were packed yet still sat us ahead of people waiting.
Service from hostess' to wait staff were extremely polite and accommodating. We were running late for our show at MSG (which is right across street) so they pushed food order in first, then drinks and got us out in time for us to make the show........on time!
Thank you for a great experience......will definitely go again when going to MSG.
Enjoyed the experience and would def go back. Ambient noise was high at first but got better. Service was excellent!
I would recommend because its proximity to Madison Square Garden. The food was just ok, but the waiter is the reason I didn't care for the place. They seemed to have plenty of bus staff, but not enough wait staff. It wasn't even busy. Also, the choice for seating, was not great, in the back, near the kitchen. I would go back, again, because it is right across the street from MSG, but my expectation will not be high.
It's a very cute modern dining location right near Madison Square Garden. Great pre-post show. That was our plan, dine and go to a show. Food was good. Atmosphere was nice. Drink list was ok (I'm a whiskey guy - they were a little limited), but overall the experience was pleasant. Would I come here on a date? Probably not. with friends or colleagues - yes. with family? Yes.
My party and I had a great time at Niles.
It was our first and definitely not our last time dining there.
Very pleasantly surprised. In town to see Billy Joel and this is right across from NSG. Drinks were generous. Soups and salads very good. Main courses, salmon and tuna were great. Salmon was crusted over risotto and tuna was Asian with noodles. Both cooked perfectly. It is a big restaurant but everything was excellent with our service and food!
Very nice seafoid
Great location to meet up with friends. 1/2 block from Penn Station. Food was great.
Niles is always reliable and the location is perfect. I really miss the prickly pear margarita though, the pomegranate that replaced it is not nearly as good.
Great location near MSG for a concert. Food was delicious. Service was a bit cold and unfriendly but I would definitely return!
We sat at the bar and had an amazing time. Great service, cool ambiance and really good food. Had lobster bisque, French onion soup, sea bass and seafood spaghetti.
