From the moment we stepped off the elevator, Nikolai’s Roof exceeded our expectations. The host had such a warm greeting for us. We were given a special table with a great view of Atlanta. Our waiter, Vassil N. was excellent. From the wine, to the bread, to our three course meal - we could not have been more pleased. Highly recommend this gem in Atlanta!
We had not been to Nicolai's Roof for quite some time. We enjoyed the food there years back, but there was a overbearing formality about the venue and service that was oddly unsettling. Now the restaurant boasts a relaxed elegance and a graceful charm that is inviting. The views, as always, are a joy and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful, yet subtle. And food is amazing. My wife and I shared Piroshki followed by starters of seared foie gras and diver scallops. For our entrees we chose basted duck breast and herb crusted lamb chops. Throughout the presentation of the dishes were appetizing and creatively plated. And ur server Staneslous, Stan, was a delight being both attentive and appropriately friendly. We found Nicolai's a truly an elegant and enjoyable dining experience worthy of any special occasion. And try the Grand Marnier Soufle. It is outstanding!
Nice place, cool views but small portions. For the price a little more is expected.
Beautiful place & very romantic, food was Great as well
We can't say enough about the food AND the service! An Atlanta staple for a reason...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Food was amazing!! Loved this place! Although the portions were small they were just enough for the different courses.
Food was delicious. Our waiter Scott was attentive and his recommendations were spot on. Don’t miss the piroshkis. And of course the view of Atlanta is fantastic! Will definitely be back!
I was disappointed in Nikolai's Roof. We had eaten there several times many many years ago and remembered the wonderful food, fabulous service and luxurious decor that was highlighted by the view of Atlanta.
We arrived and were seated by the windows with a lovely view. Our napkins were placed in the women's laps but seeing as we all had on dark clothes I was surprised we were not offered black napkins. We passed around a single iPad that contained the drink menu and decided on cocktails. Before our drinks had arrived the waitress wanted to take our dinner order. We declined, and then waited a total of 30 minutes for our cocktails. After enjoying our drinks for a while, our waitress returned to take our dinner order. She was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed. The food was average, nothing specific to recommend.
Overall the decor, food and service was average. It could have been any restaurant in Atlanta or any large city. I would not recommend Nikolai's Roof when there are other places try in Atlanta.
Decadent food, lovely atmosphere with a gorgeous view! Would definitely make it a point to come back on our next trip to Atlanta!
What a nice experience. My wife and I had a great anniversary date. Will recommend to family and business associates.
fantastic from the minute we walked in until the time left. Scott our server was awesome!
Nikolai's Roof does not disappoint. I hadn't been to Nikolai's since before the remodel (years ago) and I was just as satisfied as I had been my first time. The atmosphere, service, food and quality is unmatched.
Every single thing was amazing!
Nikolai's Roof has a long standing reputation as an upscale dining option in Atlanta. The setting is lovely overlooking Atlanta. The food was very good, however the service needs a bit of work. On arrival the person greeting didn't even say hello. He just asked the name on the reservation. The waiter while pleasant was very inexperienced, not something one would expect from this level of restaurant.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner! Our waiter was fabulous and the food was excellent!
It was a 76th birthday celebration for my significant other! I requested a special dessert for
his special day. Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable. Thank you for the great service.
I went here during dinner for my significant others birthday and we had a really nice time. We had a seat right next to the window to see the beautiful view of the city. The host and server were both nice. I had the beef tenderloin and he had the lamb chops both were very delicious! I would recommend this restaurant and I would most definitely come back. I'm glad I made the choice to dine here.
This place is awesome we got there before our reservation to have drinks and Sherry the bartender was great and accommodating. She took pictures of my boyfriend and I. Then we went in for our reservation and Scott was our waiter and he was knowledgeable of the cuisine and very easy to talk to! I have recommended Nikolai’s Roof to everyone that has asked how my birthday was.
Impeccable service provided by Stan. Food was outstanding-very creative spin on fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was lively and nice scenic view. It’s a great place for special occasions, date night, and to bring out of town guests. Best to get the prix fix menu.
What a great experience! The five course meal was well worth the experience. Wonderful flavors with creative yet traditional approaches to each dish. Our hostess/host for the evening was amazing! And all I will about the view is see for yourself!
Good restaurant for mid-priced and somewhat good food. Very good scenic view on top of the 30th floor overseeing Atlanta. Quiet atmosphere. Good for special occasions and dates. Comparing to what we had a few time in the past, food quality seems to drop a bit. Service is really average now.
The entire experience was outstanding. The food was amazing and the service was exemplary. I highly recommend Nikolai’s Roof.
It was amazing and worth it! The server was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was great and it was a beautiful view
Wonderful evening! Our waiter, Vassal, was exceptional!y talented and met our every request perfectly!
Food was excellent in taste selection and presentation. The service we received was great also from the moment we walked into the door.
I was a solo diner with my laptop preparing for a meeting tomorrow morning. Scott, my server, was attentive and helpful - and the food was delicious. But the maitre’ d stopped by all tables with 2 or more guests to check on them, yet he walked right by my table - more than once without acknowledging me as a patron. I almost said something to him on the way out. More and more executive women who are foodies want great food and wine when they are traveling alone - how could he not know that in 2018?!
My birthday was March 17 at 9 was sitting on time no long wait our watriess Marcella was the bomb very nice check on my party of four at all times never did I had to ask her for anything great service food was amazing we did 3 coures enjoy every bit of everything my family enjoy thereself as well will returning and tell family & friends... THANKS FOR WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY DINNER ..
Definitely was worth every dollar. Super awesome venue.
I took my wife for her birthday. We had a fixe price 4-course meal with wine. Everything was great. Very Attentive service. Nice quiet atmosphere. All the courses were excellent. We had dinner around 6 pm which is a little earlier than most but we enjoyed watching the sun set during the meal.
Terrific service by Daniel and Scot. One dish was not want we expected and they replaced it promptly and professionally. Thank you gentlemen!
The only real drag was the service, which was mediocre at best. It was not a busy night, so no special reason for the lack of attentiveness and warmth.
Service was impeccable and ambiance lovely.
Me and my wife enjoyed our 15th Anniversary here! Beautiful place beautiful view A1 service the food was amazing! I recommend this place to anyone! ❤️
Every single dish that we ordered was outstanding. We started with a risotto and braised beef piroshki, then have the lamb and duck as our entree, and finished off with the creme brulee and Banana Foster. Every single dish was outstanding and the service was superb. They were even kind enough to give me A Slice of Cheesecake on the house for my birthday.
The food was great.
I reserved the seat by window more than a week before but it was not reserved. I didn't know that before I got there.
We were hoping for Russian cuisine, but it’s a French menu. We ordered two seafood plates as our starters (crab cake & the scallops) because that’s what we were in the mood for. The seafood plates were delicious, but the crab cake portion is about the size of a silver dollar. Didn’t make much of a difference to us since it was a starter, but wouldn’t be much of a meal. We ordered the beef tenderloin and the duck as our meal and we were both Extreamly Disappointed with how both of our meats were cooked. The beef tenderloin was ordered rare & came out medium & charred. The duck was ordered rare to med-rare and came out well-done. Both were over cooked even thought we both specified we did Not want with mean over cooked. Neither of us took more than one bite of either dish. Our waiter never asked how we liked it even though we didn’t touch it & we didn’t complain because for the price we shouldnt have to. They did offer to box it up and when we got home we fed both the tenderloin and duck to our dogs. The view was nice however & the wine selection was alright. We will not be going back. It was an unfortunate disappointment for both of us. We heard great things from friends and drove 30 minutes from Buckhead to give it a try. For the price of each plate we shouldn’t have to be bothered with sending plates back when over cooked. The dogs seemed to enjoy the dog bag we brought home for them though, so I guess not a total loss.
I was very disappointed. I traveled from Warner Robins GA to celebrate 13 years of marriage. Our last visit was in 2007 and it was quiet, low light and very upscale. There were 3 large parties, we had to wait 20 minutes after our scheduled reservation time and sat in the middle of two parties. They were loud and obnoxiously drunk.
My lamb chops were way too small for the price, under cooked. I just thought it would be better for a $200 meal.
