Waiter was excellent. Forgot his name. Foreigner. He explained the wine list and also explained ingredients on our meal. He offered to take us pictures with our phones.
Did the chef tasting with wine pairing, notable dishes were the duck, very large portion, as well as the halibut, scallops and foie gras were yummy
Restrooms not handicapped accessible.
Nice experience though.
The only issue was I made the reservation requesting a window seat. We were not allowed to sit at a window and there were window seats available. That was not professional.
Great view & service. Duck , appetizer excellent. Halibut dry & over cooked. Wine value good. Bread pudding lousy. Souffle excellent. Overall, good. Not excellent.
Even though we were late the staff were very accommodating!
This was our second trip there and everything was spectacular. I have not had this level of service in a long time or possibly ever. Our server Vassil made use feel welcome on our special occasion. I could not imagine a better experience than Nikolai's roof. The food is incredible.
Nothing special was presented
We had a lovely time here! Our favorites included the scallops, foie gras, crab cake and lamb chops.
Amazing restaurant and fantastic food. Bought my girlfriend here for her birthday and she loved it as well!
Excellent care in service aside from minor waits on occasion. Food was good and filling through multiple courses.
I was surprisingly disappointed. Based on reviews and photos, I was really looking forward to bringing my boyfriend here for his birthday, but was disappointed in more ways than one. First, I called ahead of time to see if they could bring out a birthday desert, which they noted. When we ordered our dinner, though, our server asked if we’d like desert....this made me get up and double check with the host whether they had made note of my earlier request. The host assured me that our server was aware. When we finished our meal, the server asked again if we’d like desert- that’s when I decided to just ask him about the birthday desert in front of my boyfriend, since my other attempts didn’t work. He nodded and also took my own desert order. About 10 minutes later, he returned with only my desert- not the birthday desert for my boyfriend at all. Finally, another server saw my disappointment and made sure to finally have it brought out several minutes later. Aside from that, I was over charged for my meal. I ordered the pasta for $29., and on the receipt it said “chef menu” for $64. I asked about that, and our server said he combined our appetizer and my desert with my meal, which equaled a 3-course “chef menu.” He said it would save money in the end, but it was about $7 more. I decided to let it go and not turn the whole evening into a negative experience. We also were stunned at how tiny our beef tenderloin appetizer was, and that we were offered tap or bottled water, only to find out that while I chose tap, my boyfriend’s “bottled water” turned out to be a large glass bottle for $10. that would typically be used for a whole table- not a single person- very misleading. Considering the high prices, I was very let down by our experience. Maybe we just caught them on an off night.
Morgan gave us excellent service. Food was delicious, Drinks were very tasty. Paid valet parking was nice.
Front desk was very helpful!
Celebrated 12th wedding anniversary there - service was terrific, went with the four course menu, and our server Janice? was terrific in getting food out quickly due to back end time crunch with babysitter. Terrific views south of the city, highly romantic setting. Made us want to get a hotel room after . . .
Great ambiance & best skyline view of the city:-)
From the start customer service was excellent. I requested a table with a view and they were able to accommodate my request. Our waiter was pleasant and easy to talk to. He was very attentive.
We had the 5 course meal and selected from the menu that had options from sea to land. Everything that was we selected was good.
I would definitely recommend all my friends and family to dine at Nikolai’s Roof for the experience and the view.
The evening started out well enough. Good table, good view. Waiter ok, never great (Tyler). Foie gras excellent. Crab cake really poor, and highly touted by staff. Likewise creme brulee. Really poor, but highly recommended. Entrees were filet, cooked to specs if medium rare and halibut - flavorful but overdone. Asked for restroom, told to go up a ridiculous flight of stairs. Finally got a decent alternative. All in all a fairly dissappointing evening. So sad, we were really looking forward to a great night out.
Super place, outstanding view of Atlanta from 30th floor of Hilton. Food was great - definitely pricey - but also definitely worth it for a special occasion! My daughter and I got the 4-course meal with a sharing plate. Will come back again if we are staying in Atlanta. BTW - the off-season rates at the Atlanta Hilton are pretty reasonable - and the restaurant is right there.
Outstanding service from our server, Manuela. Food was amazing. And major thanks to the chef for honoring our reservation. She went out of her way since there was an event being held to cater to us and two other couples that had reservations. When we arrived, were told there were no reservations but that was from the event person, not Nikolai's. Immediately we were seated and had a wonderful anniversary dinner.
Second visit, was amazing. Gorgeous view of the city rain or shine. I thought maybe the first visit was a fluke but similar experience second time. Slightly disappointed in our server, again. Not sure if they are instructed not to talk or be sociable but seemed very strange that our servers didn't really want to engage in type of conversation. Overall we didn't let that impact the evening. Wonderful place to experience great food and atmosphere.
The charcuterie board was amazing! I’ll be going back.
View was incredible, but like most places that have a great view, the food was mediocre. Fish and souffle was overcooked. The best part of the meal was the cheese selection.
Wait staff was very attentive.
Me and my girlfriend had a great time! Our waitress Cindy was awesome and really took great care of us. We dont usually eat anywhere fancy but this was amazing and Cindy helped us out with all the different foods we did not know what were. Overall a great experience. 10/10 would recommend
Came for anniversary dinner and was pleasantly surprised; no, blown away by the stellar service and exquisite cuisine. Our server, Manuela, was the best!
Hidden gem! A very special place on a roof!
Beautiful restaurant and views, scrumptious food, wonderful/attentive staff. Celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary there. Felt like we were having our own, personal dining experience. Love the set up!!!! Can’t say enough great things!!! And I don’t normally write reviews...
It was great
A first class dining experience. The five-course meal was perfectly executed from start to finish. Each course was professionally presented and clearly described by our waiter. Each course was plated beautifully and we never had to wait more than two-minutes for the next course. The combinations and flavors were absolutely delightful! The Seared Foie Gras and New Zealand Herb Crusted Lamb Chops were the best we have ever had anywhere! We overheard a fellow diner (a restaurateur) commenting the same.
The atmosphere was welcoming and romantic. The dining area is classy and sexy with very comfortable seating allowing for an extended dining experience. We never felt rushed and the wait staff was perfectly polite and accommodating. A classical guitarist played very softly as we dined, creating a nice ambiance. The view of the city from the dining room is also very nice.
This is the kind of dining experience you want to have. It's the kind that that creates great memories.
Awesome my server was great, the food incredible I want to comeback
Not impressed, presentation was decent, but flavor was lacking. Our server was very forgetful, not very knowledgeable. I had called and sent a note about my partners allergies and was told she could be accommodated. Turned really awkward, overall very disappointing after having such high hopes. A tasting menu should transport you/ take you on a journey, I didn't really get through each plate. Much better options in Atlanta.
My wife and I love Nikolai's Roof. We celebrate our anniversary here every year. In the past it has been quiet and romantic. This year there were a couple of large parties that were noisy.
Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Waitress forgot to bring drink otherwise she was great. Beef tenderloin was very good. Fish was tasteless and not well seasoned. Duck had too much indigestible grizzle, could not even chew. Other food was good. Overall the value was not worth cost. Went there for Anniversary and it had great reviews.
Loved the different take on simple things like scallops and brussels sprouts. Multiple course options and price points made for high value and all courses were very ample, not just small plates. Restaurant decor seems a bit dated but not out of place for many of the downtown eateries now. Views were excellent and our server, Manuela, was perfectly attentive; just enough to feel well taken care of but still gave us our space for a romantic anniversary dinner.
It was our Anniversary and I wanted to take my Wife some place Special...She loved the experience
Very uppity place. Was good but the ambiance is very stuffy and stale.
Fantastic meal, and great views. I had put in my reservation on Open table that it was a birthday, but there was no mention nor anything special added
The food and the service was exceptional. I was celebrating my birthday solo and they were very attentive. I had the Prefixe but they allowed me to switch out the appetizer since I didn’t eat beef. They also had a little snack between each course and at the end a birthday cake that was really good. And the view from the roof was breathtaking. I highly recommend.
Coming all the way from Maryland to celebrate our anniversary at Nikolais was well worth the trip. Thank you for an awesome dinner and stellar service

My husband and I had our 16th wedding anniversary dinner at Nikolai's. Our server, Manuela, was very attentive and made great suggestions on what to have from the menu. It was a great atmosphere and incredible views of Atlanta from anywhere you sat. The lump crabcakes were worth the price. They were definitely the best crabcakes I've ever eaten. I would recommend this restaurant highly if you are looking for a romantic dinner.
