Nikko Japanese Restaurant
Owner was prejudice. She went to every table but the minority tables. We spent >$100 on our meal (2 people) and were treated as if we were in the back of the bus by the owner. We left a very gracious tip to the waitress but was very unimpressed by the owner, I’ve come here very frequently with my no man-minority friends and never received this treatment. Very bad experience tonight.
Great experience as always! We celebrated my wife’s birthday on a Saturday and really enjoyed the energy and service here!
The dinner menu items were overpriced for the amount of food and it tasted horrible. The service was poor because we told the waitress and she did nothing to accommodate us, not even send over the manager so we spent about $100 on food that we didn’t like. On the other hand, sushi was good & the environment was fun
It’s was a really cool spot.. love the food it’s my new place to go to ...
Did not enjoy the mackerel but that was a poor choice by me. Wife said sushi was terrific.
A wonderful gem! The sushi was exceptional along with steak and shrimp hibachi and the service was outstanding! Highly recommended. Everyday a different drink special we had 1/2 off saki night! Was fabulous!
A friend and I went for Charlotte restaurant week and everything was delicious! I ordered edamame, chef's selection of nigiri, and green tea ice cream. I will definitely be back.
The food is actually quite good. Unfortunately, the service is quite poor. It was a Saturday night, so of course expected a little delay. We ordered a second cocktail and it never arrived. Then they served the remaining food....they said it would be over. Finally we finished our food.....asked for the check....as the second round of drinks arrived. We asked for them to be taken off the check.....they argued. They took of one, but not sure why only one. It was way to loud to continue to try to fix the problem by arguing, so we paid for the other drinks anyway. I wish we hadn’t!!!!! We didn’t even get to drink them!!!!
My husband and I were trying out new places. I’d never been and he hadn’t been since they changed locations. He really enjoyed his sushi and I enjoyed the yaki soba 8 had. The apps were great too...his was shrimp and I had the yakitori(teriyaki chicken on a stick). We finished with dessert..he had mango ice cream and I had strawberry mochi ice cream...we both loved the dessert! The owner is still in her cowboy hat checking on people and making sure everyone is happy. I’m sure the music gets louder as the night goes on(which is expected) but it’s not intrusive during the 5:00 dining hour. It was good music too. The whole experience made me think of the Japanese and Korean dramas I watch when they are dining at upscale and trendy places...it was a great experience and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for the same.
Good food. Party atmosphere.
Always loved this spot but was very disappointed at the service or lack there of by the staff, and the owner. And the food was very subpar this visit. Quality over quantity, and they may have lost some good loyal customers!
Great food, really fun on the weekends and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great time.
My favorite restaurant in Charlotte hands down.
For me, Nikko’s isn’t about the food, it’s the experience. DJ playing some good music, everyone having a blast, dancing while they wait to get their tables. But the sushi.. eh. And slightly overpriced.
It was very loud , the waitress got our order wrong and missed my daughter's finance's dinner. My husband who ordered a dinner it came last after we were done with our sushi. Not attentive at all and it was for my daughter's birthday. Very disappointing...
It's become my new favorite restaurant. Take clients and business partners during the day. And friends and family in the evening. Truly amazing staff that works there from the front of the house the back of the house. The DJ on the weekends is just awesome. And the food is always incredible.
Love this place and the owner is so entertaining!y
First Visit and I was impressed. Enjoyed the ambiance, service, and food.
The food was good, but the drinks were weak.
A little too much club atmosphere for those looking to have a conversation over dinner. We couldn’t hold a conversation without leaning in due to the volume of the music.
The food server was overtasked by table assignments. We sat there for almost 30 minutes before another gentleman took over our table and took our orders. He comp’d the first round of drinks for the delay. He messed up the order and brought out an extra appetizer that we didn’t ask for. He comp’d that when I pointed it out on the check. The food was excellent! There was a DJ playing dance music non-stop the whole time. The music was so loud, you couldn’t have a normal conversation with your friends at the table. You had to yell! I wouldn’t recommend going here unless you love listening to loud dance music while eating sushi!
Great food and atmosphere. Best sushi in Charlotte!!!
overall good food but the hostess is just too over the top - always coming by to talk about herself and too touchy feely - must have tried to hug our group 3-4 times during the night. Weird too with her photos all over the restaurant. I was there for a business dinner and if not for the fact that the clients were all pretty easy going she could have made many people feel uncomfortable.
Very good my favorite place in town to dine with my family.
The music was so loud that my friends and I could hardly talk to each other without screaming across the table. The food was mediocre at best. I will not be back.
Celebrated my friends Birthday
Bones and scales in multiple rolls. The valet lost our care had to wait over 20 minutes to get the car back.
Nikko’s is always great! Must have when visiting Charlotte!!
Music was way too loud. Uncomfortably so. And the drinks were skimpy and sad looking. The food was good but not enough to make up for the rest. Not coming back.
Great food and great waitress with amazing customer service.
AWESOME! Great service food atmosphere. A 10!
Had a great time as always, this place is fun and food great
Sushi was excellent and we are picky, LOL! Atmosphere was fun and very youthful. We are older but enjoyed the upbeat music and party atmosphere. Great place for a girl's night out!!
I had a good time but it was VERY loud. I could hardly carry on a converstion. The waiteer got our bill all mixed up and it was a hot mess. The food was FANTASTIC.
Nikko is always on point. I've become a monthly regular here since taking my girlfriend here on our first date last March. The sexy salmon roll is what dreams are made of, and the drinks are always delicious with a strong kick. No watered down cocktails at this place. And the owner energizes the place with her joyful dancing. Definitely the best sushi spot in Charlotte.
Valet was unorganized
Food was great and our waitress Young was awesome as always!! We love coming here for the food and because if you d our waitress that always gives us the BEST service ever!!!
nice clean and very sociable spot, good music and food
Moving away celebration
Nikko is my favorite sushi place in Charlotte. I’ve gone for many special occasions and also go for everyday dining. They have wonderful food besides sushi as well. And Joanna is amazing!
