I've been to the Nicollet Island Inn many times. This visit was one of the best--great food (duck), good service, quiet.
Great view of the Mississippi River and excellent food, wine and desserts. We liked it so much we came back the next night for dinner to try other menu items. So glad we did.
I really like the Inn--I always have. The food is delicious and priced well and you can have a comfortable conversation. I wish more people would come here again for the location, free parking and a place to talk. More restaurants should be like this.
Food was very good but I thought a bit high in price
For what you’re spending - there are simply better options out there.
What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We had a delightful brunch with a lovely view on a beautiful day. The service was reserved, professional, and welcoming. The food was perfectly prepared. We each (3 of us) had the 3-course brunch - 1st course of yummy pastries for all of us, 2nd course of one quiche and two eggs Benedict, then 3rd course of one each of the sirloin bavette, shrimp risotto, & mushroom gnocchi, all with champagne. After brunch, we took a lovely walk around the island and over the bridges and all around the area to do some sightseeing. Highly recommended!!
And excellent meal at a great location. The food was good and the service was crisp and unobtrusive. I had the summer fixed price menu and my wife had the walleye and both were excellent. We went on a Saturday night, which saw their dining room full but not overly noisy. The location is a gem - right on Nicollet Island and the historic building is well maintained. We look forward to returning.
My husband and I came for our 28th wedding anniversary. We got engaged here and spent our wedding night. We having been trying to get back, but we live out of state and haven't been able to, but we were in town for a family gathering and came a day early so we could stay here. From the time you walk in everything is amazing! We went to the bar and had a few drinks and the bartender was Awesome!! We had dinner and breakfast in the dining room and the waitstaff and the food was above amazing! The place is quiet and relaxing as it's not a huge hotel. Thank you to everyone there as y'all made this a perfect anniversary for my husband and I. We will try to get back soon!!
This was the highlight of our weekend. We hope to stay and dine with you again!
Great food and service. Wonderful river views as well.
This is our favorite special occasion restaurant. I had the lobster bruscetta and the walleye. They were perfectly prepared. My husband had the seasonal menu of an asparagus tart, a wonderful cut of steak and a chocolate mousse. He thought they were wonderful as well. Our waiter was knowledgeable and willing to guide us to some fantastic food. The GM stopped by to give us a touch of history. It was a beautiful night at a beautiful site.
The service was so slow! It took 45 minutes for us to order our drinks. The waitress upon presenting the check, told us that there was a problem in the kitchen. The waitress should have mentioned that much earlier in our dining experience. Additionally, the serving sizes are ridiculously small. I understand the concept of small plates but this was ridiculous.
We went for Sunday brunch. Excellent food and even better service. I can highly recommend the Nicollet Island Inn for everyday dining or special occasions. There was a bridal shower in a private room while we were there👍
Rebecca was a wonderful server and the food was fantastic! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and intimate experience to celebrate a special occasion. Thank you for an anniversary that my wife and I will always remember!
Very nice Mother’s Day! We even brought our toddler and they were happy to accommodate.
Beautiful ambiance and amazing food.
It was excellent for Mother’s Day brunch.
Mothers Day. 2018. 5 course fixed at $48. Valet park. Sunny table. Good food but not memorable. A bit dated but good for mom. Needs outside dining
Super service! thanks
Consistent in areas of exceptional service, fantastic menu, great seating with views of river, this place never performs in any aspect below a 5 star rating. Have been a patron for decades and will continue without question.
Good food! Nice dining space
We were there to celebrate a birthday - the meal was outstanding, the onion soup was delicious, and my steak was perfect, couldn't have been better. One of my all time favorite places to eat , love the ambiance and the service is always wonderful.
The Nicollet Island Inn is such a special place. It’s so accessible, not expensive and a beautiful place for any occasion. We had brunch and it was so reasonable and tastefully done. $5 Mimosas and a three course offering that hit the spot!
Superb food, superb ambiance, superb service. We were so happy with our meal on Wednesday that we returned Thursday with our London guest. We all left delighted and sated.
Easter brunch. You're going to pay for top notch food. Timing was good, food temp and flavor right on the mark.
I dined at Nicollett Island Inn for an Easter brunch with family. This is my 3rd year having brunch here for the holiday. It is a wonderful setting and the food and service are wonderful! This will continue to be a family tradition.
Easter Brunch virtually identical to last years menu, or very very similar. Food was very rich, other than the quiche not all that enjoyable. We will find a different venue for Easter next year. Disappointing but we likely will not be back.
Freindly hostess, Superb service, Elegant as to how the courses were presented, Great tasting food and beverages.
The Easter menu was extremely tasty and just the right amount of food.
Wonderful evening. Very good meal presented by a wonderfully erudite and fluent waiter. Strongly recommend this restaurant!
Three of us had dinner on a Wednesday. We all commented on the fact that we could actually talk and be heard. Very enjoyable atmosphere and the food was very good. Service was first rate.
This was a very enjoyable brunch. Great food. Great atmosphere.
Step back from busyness and into a lovely, peaceful setting. The service is attentive and professional. The menu is creative and small enough to give care to anything that comes out of the kitchen.
Anniversary get away. We spent several nights at the inn. The inn and the meal was outstanding. The menu and staff were amazing. They went out of their way to create a memorable evening at our dinner. A great meal! They brought out complimentary champagne! They put candles on our desert plates to celebrate our day! I had the shrimp risotto and it was dense with shrimps. The flavor was very very good. My wife had the crab tagliatelle and it was wonderful. If you want an amazing meal, or you have a special day this place is wonderful. The staff took extra time and care and really made us feel pampered.
Good food but not spectacular. Great environment and service.
Fantastic food and service. The hostess was prompt and highly accommodating. Manager came through several times to see how everything was going.
Our server knew the menu extremely well and the service was top notch. There are many tables in the restaurant with windows to view the river and St. Anthony area. We were really impressed with everything - easy parking, top notch service and the food was fantastic.
Always enjoy the Nicollet Island Inn. Such a pleasant environment and excellent service. Our waiter efficiently managed our appetizers, entrees and desserts so that we weren't rushed but were finished in ample time to get to our theater performance. I had the halibut which was perfectly cooked, however, I was not enthused about the accompanying "legume porridge". It felt too heavy for the delicacy of the halibut. My companion had the duck which had been recommended by our server but she found it tough. The chocolate mouse dessert was wonderful. I am sure we will return as it is a go-place for pre-theater dining.
I felt the menu was small and very over priced. $8 for a side of sweet potato fries. $16 for a "gourmet" grilled cheese sandwich. $16 for a pulled pork sandwich with chips. If the food had been spectacular, I would be less harsh, but the food we had was nothing special. I won't be back.
