Nicollet Island Inn has three private/semi-private dining rooms and 2 Event Spaces. The Private Dining Room can accommodate up to 10 guests, the Captain's Room up to 16, and the Fireside Lounge up to 24. The Island room can fit 50 seated, 70 for cocktails. The St. Anthony room can fit 120 seated.

We did the lobster fest .
Would not recommend it.First course was good but not even the tip of my finger of salmon,
Second course was scallops and cod with a sauce that you couldn't tell the difference which was which since it was in a dumpling form.
The sorbet was good.
The lobster was cut in half and that was what you got. The biggest part of it was a dressing of some sort and no chunks of lobster in it. The tail part was 3 bites but tasty.
Might try going there again and see what their menu food is like.
The waitress and waiter staff was awesome.

The lobster week vouchers were a horrible value. The food was disappointing and we joked that the lobster must have been caught/purchased in December when they decided to advertise lobster week- it smelled fishy and the texture was not that of fresh lobster.
The server offered more bread with each course which was the only thing you could get any amount of full from.
What is odd and makes you leave with a further sense of regret for buying lobster week vouchers, are that the Nicollet Island Inn advertise a “full price” to make you feel like you are getting a value online by buying the discounted voucher, however there doesn’t appear to be any way to order the lobster course besides the voucher. When we arrived a manager was handling an unhappy customer who showed up wanting lobster week but hadn’t purchased the voucher.
Lobster week “full price” would be insane. The voucher price wasn’t even a good value for what it included.
The kicker is that they then charge you tax based on the fictional “full price” so the bill ends up much more than you would expect.
The only things we enjoyed were the wine pairings. All of the French wines included were wonderful.
Sadly we made a later reservation at Young Joni during our meal at the Nicollet Island Inn, and headed there for some fresh market fish afterward.
Thumbs down- first and last dinner experience here. Do not go here for seafood at least.
And shame on the owners for the scammy voucher pricing.
My wife and I went with our friends to Lobster week, a 5 course lobster dinner with wine pairings in each course. I had messed up the reservation and they quickly were able to accommodate us in spite of my mistake. The lobster mousse appetizer was something out of this world. The wines were all very good and beautifully complimented each dish. The beautifully restored historic building was filled with delightful details and antiques. It was a 3 hour escape right next to down town. We had a fantastic evening, good food, good wine and old friends is a combination is really hard to beat and the setting was perfect.
This was a special birthday dinner, taking advantage of the coincidence of my birthday falling within Lobster Week. The food was truly spectacular and the wine pairings, inspired. My one tiny quibble is that the lobster thermidor had cooled down perhaps too much by the time it arrived at the table, but this factor was more than offset by the patient and knowledgeable waiter who made the meal such a delight by letting us in, fully, on what we were consuming. It was not just dinner. It was an education. We will be returning, and recommending to others for special occasions. This is not inexpensive dining, but it is high-value dining.
Went for Lobster Week (with wine pairings)...the food was delicious, the pre-dinner cocktails was good, the wines paired with each course were phenomenal choices (especially the sparkling Rose, it just delighted with the course it was paired with). Service was attentive, even though the restaurant was busy. We enjoyed our experience thoroughly. Had never eaten there...so was surprised by the lovely ambiance (still decorated with tasteful white holiday lights) of the historic building...
We came for the lobster week and we were mildly disappointed. The second course was tasteless but the rest was good. The lobster thermadore portion was very small. Also, when I signed up for the Lobster Week I had no idea that tax was not included and were we surprised when the wait person delivered the check. We invited another couple and needless to say I was embarrassed. That should be clearly stated when you sign up for this special We do frequent Nicollet Island Inn a couple times a year and the food is normally excellent and service superb.
We celebrated our 30th Anniversary at Nicollet Island Inn. We wanted to go somewhere out of the ordinary, and did we hit this one out of the park. We ordered the chef's tasting dinner with wine pairings and could not have been more pleased.
Everyone was so nice, and new when to check in and when not when we were in conversation.
We will definitely be back.

A once notable option is now just nostalgic. The scallops and risotto dish was gritty and under cooked. The gnocchi was good but nothing special for the price. And you can skip the chocolate mouse and mix Hersey powder and whip cream at home for the same effect. Over all it was the company that made the dinner.
We went to NII for early dinner on New Years Eve. The setting is so lovely; it was a cozy place to be on a cold evening. The service was excellent. The menu, as we expected, was limited. One of us had scallops, another prime rib. Both were good, not memorable, possibly because we started with the fromage plate so were not really hungry.
We will return.
This was my second time having Christmas Day dinner at Nicollet Island Inn. Both times, the valet attendants were very unprofessional. The parking lot is the size of a postage stamp, yet the valets insisted on parking my vehicle. I didn't want them to and one of them actually started to step in front of my vehicle to block it. Both last year and this year they hassled me unrelentlessly but I was eventually able to park my own vehicle. This year, however, the second valet stepped in front of me as soon as I got out of my car and blocked me from going into the restaurant. Mind you, it was below zero temps. He insisted on taking my key fob. When I told him he wasn't going to get it, he eventually moved out of the way but stayed beside me, hassling me the whole way to the door. His parting comment was, "Excuuuse me for explaining the policy!" When I went inside, I attempted to complain to the manager, who only said, "I'm not a marionette; I can't control what they do." I thought about leaving but there weren't really any options on Christmas Day. I think they knew that and that only fueled their unprofessionalism. We were seated in a dark section of the restaurant where no holiday lights were turned on. The waitress shot us dirty looks every time she came to the table. We had to wait 30 minutes between each course. The food was good but there wasn't much to it for $200. The menu said 3 large scallops-mine were medium at best. The carrot cake dessert was more like a Minnesota dessert "bar" and had so many spices in it, I could hardly eat it. It was so small, it wasn't even as large as a credit card. Guess I should have complained abut the valet service AFTER my meal! Not worth it. Won't go back.
We had an amazing experience at the Nicollet Island Inn. The service was phenomenal, I proposed to my now fiance and they did a wonderful job bringing her the bouquet of flowers I requested and they were exited to take pictures for us. The food was amazing as well, the view was great, this is a very romantic restaurant. Highly recommend coming here! Thank you Nicollet Island Inn.
