Nicollet Island Inn
Nic's bar, just off the main dining room, is a casual, old-world tavern and the patio offers stunning views of the Minneapolis skyline. The Inn is a convenient, comfortable destination for breakfast or lunch meetings while the 3 or 5-course Sunday Brunch is the perfect weekend indulgence.

My wife and I had a very nice view of the river. The fall colors made it an outstanding view! Great place to eat their shrimp ceviche and share a bottle of wine. Everyone was very nice.
Wonderful! Beautiful historic building. Great location. Pleasant staff!!
This restaurant is a gem for ambiance and exceptional cuisine. We decided to be adventurous and try the Leg of Lamb which in our past experience has not always been successful. Our complements to the chef...excellent !! Our Server was very knowledgeable on the menu and We enjoyed her joyful demeanor. Our 37th Anniversary will be remembered fondly at the Nicollet Island Inn
Everything was perfect from staff to food!!
We always love visiting the Nicollet Island Inn! We started with drinks in the beautiful bar looking out at Harriet Island. We followed drinks with dinner, overlooking the river. The restaurant is stunning and the ambience delightful. The food was very good and the service was spectacular. As always, we enjoyed our evening and will return.
Firstly, the food was good, but it was not worth the price, to be perfectly honest.
Secondly, The ambiance was nice.
Lastly, I was not a big fan of our server (I believe her name was Liz), it took her a while to come to the table, when she did, she didn’t introduce herself. She was not attentive at all, and I got the impression that she wanted to get us in and out. Overall, her energy was off and off putting.
Nicollet Island Inn was wonderful as always, perfect atmosphere to have a conversation and so romantic. Wonderful service and delicious food. We'll absolutely be back.
Very charming. Wait staff were friendly, warm and inviting. Food was delicious and the view was great on the river with the Fall leaves turning colors.
What a pleasant surprise. We were visiting town and took daughter out to dinner. We haven't been here in a long time. The food was awesome, the Fall menu, was well selected, prepared and it was very clear the Chef and team were on their A game. We were able to substitute for the Goulash appetizer---what a delight! The Duck, pasta dish was to die for. The Bread pudding dessert was spectacular. We will definitely come back. This place deserves more stars. On top of that it has history that can't compete with many places in Minneapolis
Had the absolute BEST time at Nicollet Island Inn with my Fiance ! We went for our 5th dating anniversary and stayed in a room as well. Food was amazing, service outstanding. The drinks were fantastic!! Great little spot.
Good place for dinner and social gathering
My niece and I were getting together for a long-delayed lunch. And we chose the perfect place. We had a table facing the river, it was quiet so we could have a conversation, and the food was good. The waiter was terrific, and we never felt hurried to move on. So we had a thoroughly enjoyable, long visit.
Great food, great service, great ambiance! Would highly recommend the Nicollet Island Inn!
The food was satisfactory. I had the duck and it was good, not great, good. I compared it to the duck at the Northeast Social which is substantially better. The salmon had a slight fishy taste to it. Service was impeccable. Ambiance excellent. An enjoyable, romantic spot IF you've chosen the right entree.
Met all expectations
The charming and cozy ambiance, the attentive and professional service (Beth) and the quiet dining room makes this the perfect place to celebrate a birthday with a friend.
The omelette of the day was satisfactory. The quiche tasted better. Both are served with greens in a light vinaigrette. A bread basket or roll would be a nice addition.
Dessert was the winner. Crime Brûlée was perfect. Chocolate mousse—so so.
The food is a disappointment, but other choices may be more winning. But it is always a treat to walk in the door of the Nicolet Island Inn—and then the dining room.
VERY disappointing experience with the new Octoberfest (four course) menu including cold potatoes meager portions, barely average dessert. Long wait for service and a smart-aleck response from a waiter, who, when I asked about the pretzel appetizer to accompany our cocktail (it arrived after the soup and salad) replied, "I only have two hands!" I wasn't being critical or demeaning, only inquiring after a LONG wait if perhaps with a new menu the pretzel was forgotten. A very expensive meal for two (meant to be a special date) which left a very bad taste in my mouth. I would welcome a phone call from management regarding our experience and the possibility of reversing my Sunday evening decision, "last time for the Inn".

Enjoyed the atmosphere inside and outside. Very good service and wonderful food!
One of the best places to eat at if one wants a quiet romantic meal. Noise level low so people can talk with each other! Steak we had was the best we had in a restaurant in years.
Beautiful location, lovely food and wine. The waiter was good though not great. I would go back again.
I've been to restaurant several times
This is first time I've been diappointed
Service extremely slow when it didn't appear to be a busy day
Food was also not up to expectation
Willing to give it a try again because of its ambiance and history
Everyone enjoyed the dinner, all commented on how good the food was.
Beautiful, quiet atmosphere. Lovely place for a mid week lunch with wonderful friends. The food was absolutely perfect. Three of us had the walleye entree...it was cooked to perfection and the presentation was perfect as well.
I come to Nicollet Island Inn because it is a wonderful place to have a private conversation over lunch. It is rare these days to not have to speak loudly over everyone else. The salmon salad is always good as was the walleye.
Lovely old inn with a fabulous menu and food. The waiter made nice suggestions, and we tried several dishes between the 4 of us. Would go again anytime!
We had a really nice brunch Sunday. Christian our server went out of his way to be helpful. He was very polite. He was very pleasant and attentive. He accommodated our special requests bringing separate plates, mixing two juices etc.
Some loud guys next to us other then that every thing was good
This was the most underwhelming experience I've had in quite some time. I thought being an historic location in the heart of the city, and somehow being considered one of the most "romantic" restaurants in Minneapolis, this would be an easy win for my anniversary dinner. I indicated on the reservation that this was a special occasion. The restaurant was practically empty (on a saturday, 7:30pm). We were seated at probably the worst location, directly in the path of anyone walking in or out of the dining room. Upon being seated, I had to ask for a wine list or apparently they weren't going to offer one. The service was slow but friendly. The food was completely unimaginative. My wife and I both ordered the filet, the meat was mediocre and not well cooked, the sauce lacked flavor, there was no choice of potato, just mashed potatoes that could have been from a box, no salad (with a $50 steak?) We asked for bread because none was provided. I'm not sure if they charged for the bread, probably. Overall this place just seems tired, and stuck in the worst dining habits of the previous century. Maybe being a hotel restaurant they don't expect to impress anyone, but this is supposed to be THE hotel restaurant. On the plus side, my wife and I were able to laugh at how ridiculous our first anniversary meal was, and we now have an easy mission to top it next year. We will not be back.
The food was ordinary and so was the service. Not bad, but one expects more at that level.
The service was attentive and prompt. Best quiche and hash browns ever. Lovely and quiet room, view of trees and river.
Our dinner at Nicollet was absolutely perfect. The food is excellent, but what always impresses me is the accommodating and delightful service we have. They are great at engaging in conversation, recommending options, and making the evening especially fun. I would absolutely recommend and intend on making the Inn a regular visit for special occasions.
Amazing food, beautiful dining room. We will be back!
Amazing service and fantastic food!! Would highly recommend to anyone.
A fine place to dine with caring and attentive staff
Great food, rich history and so much character to this historical building. The food was delicious.
Quiet enough so we could carry on a conversation! Many other restaurants are so loud you end up with a sore throat trying to talk above the music and noise. Very relaxing dinner and food selection, professional service.
Outstanding experience! Every time I go to the Inn to dine is an exceptional experience and one
I am always pleased to share with friends.
Delicious Braised Duck Tagliatelle, the homemade noodles were scrumptious. Husband enjoyed Almond Crusted Walleye. Wonderful view of the river and bridge. If in a hurry service is slow.
