nicole's ten Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately Nicole's has close for business effective 01-Jan-2017, but they have not been removed from OpenTable. We reserved via the App and drove 20 mins only to find an empty parking lot and note taped to the front window.
We had heard this was a fantastic restaurant and the OpenTable ratings appeared to support. We only wish we had gone there sooner.
Meanwhile, please update to remove from OpenTable.
We are sorry that they have closed. This was a great place for unique beer choices, excellent comfort food, and knowledgeable wait staff. The Manhattan cocktail menu was interesting and the drinks were made to perfection. We are going to miss Nicole's Ten and hope they reopen or reinvent the restaurant.
Can't decide whether to love this place or not. Problem is it's frustratingly inconsistent. The first time we ate there it was great, and we went back a few times. But recently it's been out of this world one night and another you wonder if the staff communicates with each other. Saturday night (12/3) was the latter. Got there and waited behind another couple at the hostess station. They didn't have reservations and hostess informed them that the dining room was "fully booked" and therefore a long wait. They left. We had a reservation, were seated, and noticed several empty tables -- that were never filled.
Our server was very personable and outgoing. Recommended a great drink for my wife and made several good beer recommendations for me. For appetizers, we ordered the charcuterie (very good) and their take on poutine (disappointing - potato chips with gravy and cheese curds, and barely warm). Main courses were monkfish (good) and pork saltimbocca (fair). Problem with the pork was that on the menu it was listed as a 14 oz. veal "porterhouse," and when I ordered our server apologized and said they'd run out of veal but had substituted pork. Fine by me. But 1) when it came out it was barely tepid, and certainly not hot and 2) charging the same price for a small boneless pork chop as a veal porterhouse? Really? Doesn't seem right. Dessert - chocolate peanut butter pie - was very good too.
Should also note that on other occasions we've had their lobster mac & cheese, which is just amazing.
Sadly, that might be the last time we dine here. It's just too inconsistent to spend that kind of money on food that's hit or miss.
Nicole's Ten continues to be one of our absolute favorite local restaurants. The menu had some changes and additions that we tried, and they were excellent, but the old standbys (e.g. their epic lobster mac and cheese) are still there as well. Their wait staff, as always, remain quietly attentive and enthusiastic, always ready to offer helpful suggestions and recommendations if asked, but never in-your-face or intrusive.
Awesome as Always. Our server Sean was Great and very helpful. We opted for something different this visit. The Chef did not disappoint. Food was very tasty. The Manager Nel was Busy but still had time to say Hi. The whole staff is wonderful. We look forward to returning soon.
the restaurant serves no bread with dinner , which I felt was strange , my water glass was never refilled and was empty most of dinner , my dinner was supposed to avocado in it , I found I tiny piece which was disappointing , I had a better experience a few months earlier ,
I've lived in the area for over 20 years and had never gone to Nicole's 10. They changed their menu since I last researched them and their current menu is unique and looks yummy. I went with two friends (man and woman) and we all loved the food. The service was very good and friendly. The bathrooms are very clean (helps you to imagine a clean kitchen). We had a moderate dinner--4 alcoholic drinks, 3 appetizers, 3 meals, 2 coffees, 1 desert and 2 diet cokes---that cost $160 +$32 tip = $192. So, it's pricey but we didn't mind because it was a pleasant surprise and well worth it. I will visit again for sure and recommend to friends.
SORRY TO REPORT THAT NICOLE'S 10 HAS CLOSED. SUCH A SHAME. THANK YOU FOR MANY MEMORABLE MEALS!! 1/1/17
Once again nicoles 10 reinvents its menu with great success! While keeping diners favorite large plates, nicoles has added many small plate options in addition to its already existing ones.
Their old favorite lobster bisque remains (thank god, a more delicious bisque is hard to fine) and their onion soup is a fantastic meal in itself. Their new spin on a lobster roll is quite tasty and full of lobster, more like an open faced sandwich. Always inventive and fun, nicoles 10 remains one of our favorite places to dine. (and we gladly make the 40 minute drive!)
As always, our dinner at Nicole's was a pleasurable experience. My infused Manhattan was near perfect, I miss the dirty cherries. My husband and son enjoyed the beer selection. We each tried something new off the menu, so many interesting choices makes it difficult to have a favorite dish. Dessert menu is as creative as the dinner menu. I had the most delicious lava cake, served with real vanilla ice cream. My husband had the carrot cake, which he claims is the best he has had anywhere.
But it's not just the food and service, it's the welcoming , cheerful and friendly attitude of the entire staff that brings us back.
Had been wanting to try it for several months. For some reason I thought the place was smaller than it was, Nice size bar area and several smaller dining areas, but bigger than expected. Staff was amazing, Hosts, Bartender, and Wait staff. Great Craft Beer selection. Well prepared food, I had the Swine O'Mine and it was excellent. We almost did the Tapas option but with 5 guests we opted for a couple of Apps to share (including Angry Tots!) and each ordered a meal. Will definitely be back.
What a pleasant surprise! The exterior of this restaurant doesn't offer much to admire, but once inside, we were so impressed by the food and the service! The manager, Nell, greeted us warmly and our waiter (I'm so sorry! I don't recall his name...) was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The menu is clever and creative. All of the appetizers seemed so appealing to me and when I asked the waiter about ordering a couple of them for dinner instead of a traditional entree, he suggested the "sharing menu." What a great idea! We selected a variety of items (7) from a pre-selected list of all different appetizer options and enjoyed every bite! The shared menu is $45 per person and includes a drink for each of us from the bar. We thought it was a great deal. All of the portions were quite large and there was more than enough food for us to share. We even brought home some leftovers. We had Way Big Asian salad, which was lightly dressed and so fresh, the artisan mac & cheese (yummy comfort food), shark bite calamari (perfectly fine, but not my favorite), 1 each of the 3 barrio bends (3 different tacos, all delicious), Asian Carrozza (a grilled cheese sandwich), Snap, Crackle, Duck (sort of a chicken nugget, but duck), & Drunken sliders (the best thing we ate). We'll definitely return!!
We always love eating at Nicole's 10. The decor and ambience are relaxing. The menu presents almost every dish in a way that makes choosing what to order very difficult. The staff is attentive, and the food is always delicious and creative. We shall return!
I cannot say enough positive feedback on the food! Delicious, innovative, perfect portion! Wait staff was impeccable, an all around pleasure! One piece of constructive criticism, clean up the outdoor landscape. If I had not read a bunch of great food reviews before coming, I may have left. My husband wanted to, based on the appearance. He was extremely happy he stayed but some potential customers may leave and miss out on a really food experience.
