My first time being disappointed here. Used to be consistently top 3 spots in Cincinnati but the service was just not good. Wicked slow at the bar. 3 of the 6 things we got we're disappointing. The other 3 were WOW! Perhaps just a missed night

Everything we ordered was fabulous! The menu seemed to still be in the winter phase. Looking forward to returning in June to try their summer offerings. Great wine selections too.

Nicola's never fails to impress! Our birthday celebration was wonderful, the food and service exceptional. We will be back again and again.

Exceptional service and food. Server was more than gracious, recommended a spot-on wine that paired very well with the delicious bolognese. We celebrated a birthday on the "Bolognese Monday" (reduced price and a salad). Despite the reduced price, the service was impeccable, and the bread basket was amazing. One of Cincinnati's gems.

First date...wanted to make a good impression. So did not. I should have figured something out when a bourbon and ice comes out with apiece of ice the size of a dime.

The calamari was a small slab of fish with so much anchovy paste that it was nothing but salt.

An hour later the Risotto came out crunchy. I did not know that Risotto is supposed to be crunchy. The grilled carrots were very tasty.

They did offer to replace it but we had had enough and just wanted to leave.

Jennifer was a wonderful waitress. We are seniors and grateful that we could share a meal. thanks for honoring my husband's birthday! We'll come back!

It was delicious as always! Great gnocchi and the scallop dish was fabulous. Great service, such a solidly, good restaurant and experience!

The food came out very slowly with long waits between courses.

Dinner was tremendous. The wife tried the lumberjack cocktail and loved it. As she shared a worthy replacement to the Ginger Old Fashioned. Both tried two of the new pasta courses and both were outstanding. I typically stick with the classic bolo but tried the risotto which was excellent. Both our entrees were great. The service was perfect and kudos to the suggestion on the house wine of the night. We like to check out different flavor profiles and the wine was both unique and a great value. Just an outstanding evening.

Nicola's is a favorite with us. Whether the occasion is birthdays, anniversaries, or getting the family together, Nicola's impresses with the quality of the food and the friendliness of it well- trained staff.

Exceptionally creative cuisine! Everything was well crafted and delicious. Angolati pasta dish was unique in every way! Outstanding service and incredible tasting food! Loved my experience.

Anniversary

Excellent meal combining the Monday night Bolognese special with the prosciutto/burrata salad. Both meals very good. Out server was terrific. Interesting list of wines, many Italian, by the glass. Always has been a destination restaurant in OTR, and lived up to expectations and more.

Great food and service. A little pricey but truly delicious.

Excellent in all aspects. Will return frequently.

Excellent! I was surprised I had not been here before now. I love italian & this was delicious!!!

This was my first visit- and it was delicious!!! I am a Celiac and had so many options! I also had the most incredible glass of wine!!! YUM!

As always, outstanding. Their selection of house-made pasta is simply the best, maybe anywhere. Their house made bread selection is amazing. This has all the food and service quality of fine dining, but none of the pomp ... unless you count a white tablecloth. The ceiling is is like 20 feet high, and the tables are far from each other, so it feels quiet even when full.

The finest Italian dining experience in Cincinnati.

We loved our dinner on Friday for our daughter’s 28th birthday. We were never rushed and actually talked about that on the way home how nice that was. We had excellent service and the food was amazing! We love the bread basket, but everything was so good!!

I have dined at Nicola's many times. I cannot eat gluten so if you want gluten-free bread they ask that you call the day before and request this. I have always done this and the restaurant has honored my request. This time they had no idea of my request. The server didn't even apologize or have the manager apologize. This is totally inexcusable. I have been to many restaurants over the 20+ years that I couldn't eat gluten, and fully understand when no gluten-free bread is valuable. But when a restaurant makes a commitment to have it you expect them to deliver on their promise.

Megan was a very professional and friendly server. She knew the menu backwards and forwards. Her food recommendations were spot on.
Nicola’s is a CIncinnati gem. Wonderful food, beautiful ambiance, and a superb wine list.
This was our 30th or so visit and remains on our short list of Cincinnati’s very best restaurants.

We fully enjoyed our dinner. The service was appropriately attentive and friendly. I highly recommend Nicola's for any celebration dinner or simple get together with friends.

Had the bolognese and the pear salad. Both were delicious. Service was excellent. Wine recommendations were spot on. One of our favorite restaurants.

My wife and I are casual fine diners. We always love Nicola’s. We feel welcomed from the moment we walk in, and the food and service are outstanding. We have been waited on by Steven several times and he is fantastic! He remembers us, even though our visits are months apart, and he is very friendly and helpful. He deserves a shoutout: so thanks, Steven! This restaurant is great, and our experience is always memorable.

We had family in from out of town and had to share the wonderful Monday Bolognese experience. I definitely did not let us down. Wonderful!

We have loved the restaurant in the past but our sea bass and chicken dishes were awful this time no flavor for the fish. Chicken was just ok. Very disappointed and may not return for a while as it is pricey

Food was fantastic as always. Service definitely wasn't.

The delivery from the kitchen of our food was extremely slow and other patrons were complaining about the long delay. The food was just not tasty as it has been in the past. The waiter needed to get up to speed with the change of seasonal items on the menu since it was new. This was a special treat for our two millennial sons who heard us rave about you, but they were unimpressed.

Outstanding service and great, creative Italian cuisine

We were seating promptly when we arrived for our reservation. The food was good but very overpriced for the portion sizes. The server was great & very attentive.

First time here, great night all around. Should have eaten done it sooner.

Nicola's continues to be classic and modern at the same time... while it's been around for awhile, Nicola's earns its place among the VERY BEST in TODAY's Cincinnati restaurant scene for its food, ambiance, and service. Amazing.
